After creating a new document, Chen Mo wrote down the title of the document.

Wulin Legend's design concept.

In Chen Mo's previous life, there were many classic Wuxia games. Wulin Legend might not have been the best, but it was the most innovative, completely different from the other Wuxia games that had a western fantasy RPG gameplay.

Of course, Wulin Legend wasn't that famous, but its predecessor, Legend of the Heroes of Jin Yong, was famous.

In Jin Yong's Legend, the main character transmigrated to a world made up of fourteen Jin Yong novels. In this world, the main character had to interact with the characters in Jin Yong's novels, collect items, learn martial arts, recruit heroes, complete the fourteen main quests, collect the fourteen Heavenly Books, and return to the real world.

This game was quite popular at the time, as the players could freely practice the martial arts in Jin Yong's novels, recruit heroes like Duan Yu and Yang Guo to fight alongside them, as well as complete quests related to the original books.

Furthermore, Jin Yong's Legend introduced a good and evil value system, which would change the player's good and evil value when they made different choices.

In the end, when the protagonist gathered all fourteen Heavenly Tomes and was about to leave, if the protagonist's good and evil value was high, then the top ten evil sect masters of the Pugilistic World would surround and attack the protagonist. If the protagonist's good and evil value was low, then the top ten righteous sect masters of the Pugilistic World would surround and attack the protagonist.

In the final battle, the main character would have to defeat the top ten masters alone to complete the game, which gave the players a great sense of satisfaction.

There weren't any Jin Yong novels in the parallel world, and Jin Yong's Legend wasn't as rich as Wulin Legend, and the art quality didn't match the tastes of the players in this era.

After some consideration, Chen Mo decided that Wulin Legend was more suitable for his current needs.

In Wulin Legend, Jin Yong's novels had very little content. Although it was a sequel to Legend of Jin Yong, the Wulin sects, characters, and Wulin were all their own systems, and the players of this world had no problem understanding it.

Although Wulin Legend was an old game, it was remade in 2015 (renamed to Tale of Wuxia). The character art and models were all redone. Chen Mo's art skills were also quite high, and after some beautification, the art was more than enough to satisfy the needs of players in this era.

Chen Mo felt that the name Wulin Legend suited the game better, so he didn't use Tale of Wuxia as the name.

Of course, the most important thing was that Wulin Legend's playstyle and story were perfect for Chen Mo's needs. The playstyle was a system of its own, making it stand out from the rest of the Wuxia games.

As for the remake of the game, there was a story behind it.

Wulin Legend was first released in 2001. Although it was a highly acclaimed game, it didn't become a classic like the Legend of Sword and Fairy or Xuan-Yuan Sword.

Apart from the fact that Wuxia themes were relatively niche, the overly high difficulty level, imbalanced combat system, and incomplete story branches were also factors that took away points from the game.

Of course, this was mainly due to the lack of funding.

In the end, Heluo studio disbanded due to piracy. The original studio, Eastern Calculus, wasn't able to release any more classics, and soon disappeared into the darkness.

In 2006, someone made a post on Wulin Legend's forum, "Is Eastern Calculus still around?"

The players all replied, "I haven't seen them release a new game in a long time. Did they disband? It would be a shame if they did. "

In 2009, this post was topped by a reply from the creator of Heluo studio, Wulin Legend's producer, Xu Changlong.

"Eastern Calculus stopped operating three years ago, but everyone is still in the video game industry, and the core members are all in a certain video game company. As long as we're still around, we'll have the chance to create better works. "

As for Xu Changlong, he was also very surprised.

Over the years, he, like many other gamers, gave up on single player games and switched to online games. He did things he didn't like, and even started to doubt the future.

It wasn't until he stumbled onto Wulin Legend's forum that he found so many people discussing the game.

He didn't think that there would be so many people playing and reminiscing a game from 2001 in 2009.

It was for this reason that Xu Changlong came up with the idea of remaking Wulin Legend with the support of the netizens. He released Tale of Wuxia in 2015, and managed to sell four hundred thousand copies in January 2016.

Just like Warcraft, Chen Mo wrote a concept draft, summarizing the game's content, then split the work between Su Jinyu and the others.

Chen Mo didn't need to improve his skills this time, as the game wasn't hard to make. Chen Mo had already made a game as good as Warcraft, so Wulin Legend was no problem for him.

All he needed to do was clear up the complicated settings and story branches of the original game, then recreate the classic content as much as possible.

Soon, the concept draft for Wulin Legend was completed.

In fact, the game's overall content was divided into two types: exploration of the large map and nurturing within the sect.

The main character's life was split into three parts. Entering Jianghu (map exploration), learning from a master (sect training), and entering Jianghu to save Wulin (map exploration).

The reason why Wulin Legend was so well received was because it added a training mode to the normal map exploration mode. Players found that the training mode was a perfect fit with the Wuxia content, hence the popularity of the game.

Of course, Chen Mo would need the help of Memory Playback Potions to recreate the details. But just like before, Chen Mo would only give some basic settings, leaving the rest of the story, numbers, and artwork to his three assistants.

After writing the draft, Chen Mo gathered Su Jinyu, Zheng Hongxi, and Qian Kun for a meeting.

"I wanted to rest a bit more, but things have changed. This is the draft for the next game, take a look. "

As Chen Mo spoke, he gave the concept script for Wulin Legend to the three of them.

Qian Kun was a bit disappointed, "Hmmm, it's not like it's a scam game …"

Zheng Hongxi was interested, "Hmm? It looks like the story is quite rich, and it's a Wuxia theme, China style. "

Su Jinyu was confused, "Manager, didn't they say Wuxia themes are hard? This game seems to have too many innovations, won't it be a bit risky? "

Chen Mo said, "Don't worry about that, familiarize yourselves with the game first. I'll give you the concept art for the characters and settings in a few days. Goldfish, you'll be in charge of the art resources this time. "

"Hongxi, you'll be in charge of the story. It's a Wuxia theme, and there's a lot of traditional culture, including music, chess, calligraphy, and so on. Prepare more information for this, and make sure it's easy to learn. Don't be too shallow or too deep."

"Qian Kun, you'll still be in charge of the combat system and numbers. The balance requirements aren't as strict as in Warcraft. There are a few skills that have to be really strong, and they have to be really hard to obtain. I'll tell you more about this later."

"Alright, that's about it. Take a look at the draft, and try to figure out what the final form of the game will look like. "

After Chen Mo was done, the three of them went their separate ways.
