Luke seemed to be observing Sarah's body, but he was actually observing everybody's reaction.
It was a pity that everyone had different expressions on their faces, but no one's expression was particularly abnormal.
Luke wasn't surprised.
The murderer had killed two people after Luke revealed his identity as a detective. It wasn't that he was mentally strong, but that he had become too psychopathic.
Why would a normal person commit a crime when a detective was around? This man had the guts.
Luke and Selina began to interrogate everybody separately.
Both of them were using recorders that Luke had modified, so they didn't have to record everything in a notebook at the scene.
Half an hour later, Elizabeth and Billy arrived, and Elsa arrived with her new partner, Simmons, who was a white young detective.
There were too many people at the scene, and they wouldn't be able to handle the situation without help.
The nature of this case was also very bad. In broad daylight, under the watchful eyes of the public, the female lead of the famous director Pierce's new film was killed, and her body was hung from the ceiling. This was definitely a provocation to the police.
Not satisfied, the murderer tried to kill another person. Did the murderer really think that the police department was easy to deal with?
Luke went over to his colleagues and quickly explained the case to them.
Elsa frowned. "Did you handcuff Mike? Did anyone else see him? "
"No, he was handcuffed to a corner. As long as the cameramen didn't walk around the debris, they couldn't see him at all." Luke shook his head.
He knew why Elsa asked the question, because it meant that the murderer hadn't expected Mike to be killed, but had come up with an idea.
After all, the murderer couldn't have known that Luke was a police officer, nor could he have known where he would handcuff Mike.
Elsa's face darkened. "What is he trying to say? Is he trying to provoke the police department? "
Killing a suspect that Luke had handcuffed was even more outrageous than killing him right in front of him.
If Mike had been strangled to death just now, Luke would've been in big trouble.
It was Luke who had handcuffed the man. Mike had only been joking, but he had died because of it. If word got out, Luke would probably be demoted and sheltered.
Luke was Elsa's ace right now. Without him, her team's efficiency in solving cases would be halved.
Elsa said in a low voice, "Everybody has to work overtime today. Do you have any objections?"
No one made a sound.
Boss had to work overtime, so who would dare to slap her in the face in public?
Elsa said, "Luke, you're on your own. The rest of you, follow me to investigate these people. If you find anything suspicious, let me know. "
Everyone nodded and dispersed. They divided the crew members into different areas and began to interrogate them.
Luke hadn't been assigned a task because Elsa knew that he had a way of solving cases that sounded scientific but was actually very metaphysical.
All he had to do was walk around the crime scene a few times and he would be able to find something suspicious.
Of course, Elsa wouldn't let him interrogate the crew, which would be a waste of his ability.
Everybody would report anything suspicious to her, and she would inform Luke after analyzing it.
Luke started walking around the studio.
He paced back and forth, mainly focusing on the circle where Sarah was hung and the circle where Mike was almost strangled to death.
However, he didn't gain anything else.
This murderer was really cunning.
He had used the miscellaneous items in the crew and touched a lot of people, just like the rope that had strangled Mike.
After looking at the crime scene, Luke estimated that it probably wasn't him who had hung Sarah up. He had also used a rope and a big box to create a simple but practical trap.
It was similar to the traps that special forces set up in the movies, except that the rope was directly around Sarah's neck instead of around her feet.
Sarah wasn't a tall woman. She was only 1.6 meters tall, which, according to Jennifer, was to make her look more pitiful in horror movies.
As for why Miss Pokey, who was 1.6 meters tall, was so big that it didn't match her height, that was a matter of common medical knowledge.
Saran wasn't a strong woman. The moment she fell into the trap, her neck was strangled and she was hung up.
Luke could even imagine that the woman had died on the roof in despair when she couldn't make any sound when she saw a bunch of people not far away. She couldn't call for help.
Luke wasn't too disappointed.
The murderer was very bold. While his method wasn't exquisite, it was definitely meticulously planned.
It was a good thing for the murderer, because it would be hard for the police to find any loopholes.
However, the murderer had also left some traces behind.
As long as you took action, you couldn't avoid leaving something behind.
For example, Sarah's death was an obvious clue.
How could the murderer be sure that Sharan would fall into his trap?
This wasn't a jungle operation like the special forces, and the murderer had only set up one trap. So, he knew that Sarah would definitely fall into the trap.
The trap had a very small range. As long as Sarah was twenty to thirty centimeters away from her original position, the trap would probably miss.
Luke chuckled. Hehe, interesting.
There was no response from Elsa, which meant that she hadn't found anything.
When he returned to Sarah's body, the forensic scientists were already busy.
Luke asked, and the answer wasn't out of his expectations.
Saran was indeed hanged to death, not strangled to death. These two ways of death could easily cause the difference in the strangulation marks. There weren't any defensive wounds on her body, and there was nothing unusual under her fingernails.
Obviously, the murderer hadn't given her a chance to tear it apart.
Perhaps, the murderer had simply watched her fall into the trap, and hung her up without a sound.
Cold-blooded, cruel, and meticulous … it sounded like a serial killer's style.
But as far as Luke could remember, there were plenty of serial killers who liked to strangle people, but none who liked to hang their victims in front of a bunch of people.
Very soon, the forensic scientists put Sarah's body in a car and left the scene.
Until the forensic scientists came back with further results, Luke wouldn't be able to get any more leads from them.
Luke wandered around the studio again.
This time, he calmed down and slowly analyzed the scents on the ropes that had hung Sarah and Mike.
Although he couldn't find the murderer directly, he could narrow down the scope of the murderer.
After all, there were less than twenty people on the two ropes, and the scents were from recent times.
Compared with the crew of about fifty people, the range of suspects had been reduced by more than half.
And there were only five targets on the rope that had the scent of both of them.
