While Luke and Selina were talking, Jennifer had already started filming again.
Luke and Selina both shut their mouths and focused their attention on the set. It would be hilarious if anything happened to this big star.
Pierce had already expressed his approval after only three takes of her scenes, but it still took almost an hour.
It wasn't that Jennifer's acting skills needed to be shot three times, but that the effects of each take were slightly different, and Pierce could use any of them in post-editing.
Jennifer walked over. Suddenly, she looked back in fright and pointed at the sky. "What's that?"
Luke turned his head and saw that she was pointing at the ceiling in the furthest corner of the studio, where a white figure was swaying.
Everybody was horrified at first, but then felt a strange sense of familiarity. They all realized that it wasn't another prank, was it? Just like Mr. Body had done earlier.
"Selina, tell them to save him." Luke, however, frowned and pointed at the shadow on the ceiling in the distance, before he quickly ran to Mr. Body who was handcuffed.
Bypassing the debris that blocked his view, Luke saw what was going on. His face turned cold, and he drew his gun from his armpit.
Pa! Pa!
One of the ropes snapped, and Mr. Body, whose face was red from being tangled in the ropes, collapsed and gasped in pain.
Luke turned around and gestured at Selina, who had also taken out her gun, before he uncuffed Mr. Body. "Who did this?"
Mr. Body shook his head in pain and coughed violently again.
Luke took a noose off his neck and activated Sharp Nose, before he frowned.
It wasn't that the noose didn't smell, but that there were too many smells mixed in with the scents of more than ten people, and the strongest smells belonged to two or three people.
These smells matched the smells of many props, and belonged to the prop master and the prop master's two assistants. That didn't mean anything at all.
They had handled most of the props here before.
The smells of the others were very faint.
The faint smells might be because they had been in contact with them a long time ago, or because they had only been in contact with them for a short time.
The scents of more than ten people were mixed together, and it was very difficult to distinguish them.
Putting the rope loop on a nearby shelf, Luke examined the weapon that, when combined with the rope loop, had almost turned Mr. Corpse into a real corpse.
The principle of this killing trap was very simple. A rope with a slipknot was tied to a wooden frame similar to a windmill. As long as the windmill was turned, Mr. Corpse, whose hands were cuffed to an iron frame in front of him, could not resist at all. He was tightly twisted to the wooden frame by the loop of the rope.
For the convenience of filming, the windmill was, of course, electric. The electric switch was on the ground not far away, and it happened to be turned on by a piece of wooden board tied with a rope.
The reason why Luke didn't notice what was going on on this side was that the environment around him was rather noisy, and he could hear all kinds of machines and brackets rattling incessantly.
Jennifer had just filmed a group chase scene in the forest.
Although the camera was mainly focused on Jennifer, the other extras had to go all out. All kinds of screams, falls, and sound effects could not be missed.
He wasn't a god, and couldn't keep an eye on his surroundings twenty-four hours a day. Most of his attention was focused on Jennifer.
Frowning, Luke carefully sorted out the few clues he had.
There wasn't the scent of anyone coming or going here, at least not during the time he had been here.
That was really interesting.
Luke slowly circled around the spot.
A few minutes later, he stopped and shook his head slightly.
There were too many people here.
There were more than 50 people in total, including the crew members and the actors.
Also, this was a studio. Apart from the forest, there were scents everywhere else, and it was hard to tell who the culprit was.
He returned to Mr. Corpse and asked, "Mike, can you talk?"
Mike nodded with difficulty.
Luke asked, "Who attacked you?"
Mike shook his head. "I didn't see anything. It's just that the windmill behind me suddenly spun, and a rope wrapped around my neck and strangled me. "
Luke frowned. "What about the sound? Footsteps? Unusual movements? "
Mike shook his head. "No, I was strangled all of a sudden. I didn't notice anything."
Luke wasn't surprised.
The guy had indeed been in an awkward position at that time. In order to teach him a lesson, Luke had handcuffed the guy's hands to an iron frame that wasn't too tall or too short, so that the guy could only squat and couldn't turn around to look behind him.
"Let's go. Follow me, but don't say anything to anyone, got it?" Luke instructed.
Mike nodded and followed Luke out of the corner unhurriedly.
Luke brought the guy who had almost pretended to be a real corpse to Selina and whispered something in her ear. He then looked at Jennifer. "Jennifer, are you done with your scenes?"
Jennifer nodded.
Luke said, "Then why don't you leave first?"
Jennifer knew what he meant.
Her agreement with Luke was that he would protect her while she was on set.
So, as long as she left the studio, the shoot would be over, and so would Luke's job as a bodyguard.
Luke would then be able to focus on the case.
Jennifer had a deep understanding of this young detective's ability to solve cases.
Without saying much, she nodded and said a few words to Pierce and Todd, the scriptwriter, before leaving.
Luke watched her leave the studio, before he turned to Pierce and said, "This is a crime scene, so please cooperate with us. Don't walk around or talk, and don't leave."
Pierce didn't say anything as he looked at the body lying not far away.
Luke looked at Selina, who nodded. "I've already notified the department. The forensics department is on their way."
Luke was very satisfied.
Selina had done a good job as a logistics support. It was good to work with a wily old fox like Donald, who took care of everything.
Luke finally lowered his head to look at the person who had been released from the ceiling.
He already found the person very familiar. It was none other than Sarah Poch, the female lead of the movie.
At that moment, the pretty actress had her eyes closed and her mouth slightly open. She wasn't breathing.
There was a member of the crew who provided medical advice on the scene. She was performing CPR on Sarah.
Luke, on the other hand, knew that Ms. Sarah was already dead.
When she was discovered, Luke couldn't see the rise and fall of her chest, and there was a faint smell of excrement on her body.
