Containment failure?

Zhang Jue sighed helplessly. He was really lucky to run into something like this.

The impact of containment failure could be big or small. If it was just a monster like 682, then it would be fine. A few missiles would be enough to take care of it, but if it was something else, then it would be a disaster.

Based on Yang Xue's tone, it sounded like the situation was not good.

After the alarm went off, the entire station went into a state of emergency.

The security team stationed there immediately prepared for battle.

A few minutes later, a group of fully armed security guards passed by Zhang Jue's group.

Zhang Jue and Yang Xue were both Grade B personnel. According to the SCP Foundation's regulations, they should be evacuated immediately after a containment failure.

However, Yang Xue had a strong sense of responsibility. She refused to be the first to escape. Instead, she actively helped the security team evacuate the station.

Zhang Jue could only help her. He quickly evacuated the researchers who were still working.

Thankfully, they were currently at Floor B2, not the core of the station. Even if the containment failed, it should not affect them.

"BOOM!"

A loud explosion came from below. It was very dull and was accompanied by a violent tremor.

The security team below was already engaged in a fierce battle with the anomalies that failed containment.

In order to ensure safety, every floor of the foundation's containment building was filled with thick steel plates and other special materials. Even here, they could still feel the tremors. It was clear to see how intense the battle below was, and how many anomalies had escaped from the containment building.

"Okay, it's time for us to go!"

Zhang Jue sent the last team of researchers to the elevator. Zhang Jue shouted at Yang Xue.

The security team had all gone down to fight. The Special Mobile Force should arrive in half an hour. Currently, only the two of them were left on Floor B2.

Yang Xue hesitated. She was not willing to give up.

This was the first time Site 14 had experienced a containment failure on such a large scale. She had no idea how long the security team could hold on.

However, she knew that at this point, there was nothing she could do even if she was anxious.

The cause of the accident could only be investigated after the matter was resolved. However, no one knew how many innocent people would be sacrificed this time.

Seeing Yang Xue nod, Zhang Jue reached out to press the elevator button, but before he could reach the door.

With a boom, the floor beneath their feet shook violently. A moment later, it shattered inch by inch and fell down.

The two of them didn't even have time to scream before they fell into the abyss along with the rubble.

"Uh …"

Zhang Jue felt pain all over his body, as if all his bones were broken.

Conservatively speaking, he had fallen at least 20 meters.

If it weren't for Shirley's self-healing ability, he would probably be a pile of dumpling fillings by now.

It was pitch-black all around, with only some light coming from the hole above.

Zhang Jue endured the pain and searched around. He found Yang Xue, but he didn't know how her injuries were.

"Wake up, wake up." He patted Yang Xue's face lightly.

During the fall, he used his body to shield Yang Xue. However, falling from such a height, even with him as a cushion, the chance of injury or even death was high.

Thankfully, Yang Xue seemed to be a good person. After a short period of unconsciousness, she woke up.
