Min Yu was not surprised that Huo Yao would say this. After all, she was unimaginably perceptive.
"Yes," admitted Min Yu without hiding it.
Huo Yao felt relieved when she heard this. Although she was not worried that the old lady would do something stupid, she still needed to know where she was.
"Your grandmother called me last night. She probably didn't want you to be stuck between her and the Lu family, so she asked me to send her home," explained Min Yu briefly.
"I got it." Huo Yao sighed softly. How could she not understand the old lady's intention? She went quiet for a few seconds before she composed herself and asked him. "Where is she now?"
Min Yu raised his wrist to check the time. "She should be home by now."
He seemed worried that Huo Yao would be worried, so he added. "Don't worry. I got someone to escort your grandmother home. Nothing bad will happen."
"Uh huh," acknowledged Huo Yao softly. She suddenly looked at Min Yu solemnly. "Thank you."
Min Yu raised his brow and said in a casual tone, "Do we need to be so polite? Uh huh. She saved my life. "
Huo Yao glanced at him and smiled ambiguously. "Mr. Min? How come I didn't know that I had a tutor? "
Min Yu shrugged lazily. "It's a beautiful misunderstanding."
Huo Yao chuckled before she put the old lady's letter into her pocket. Then she turned around and walked out of the hospital.
"Please keep this misunderstanding going."
Her voice drifted away as she waved her hand in the air. Her silhouette under the streetlights was elongated.
Min Yu smiled thoughtfully. He turned around and caught up with her.
Huo Yao took out her phone to check the time after they left the hospital. She realized that it was out of battery, so she put it back in her pocket. She contemplated for two seconds before she raised her head and asked Min Yu. "Did you drive here?"
"Huh?" Min Yu looked at her quizzically.
"My phone is out of battery, and I don't have any cash on me. Why don't you give me a lift?" asked Huo Yao bluntly.
Min Yu raised his brow. "I thought you wanted to treat me to dinner."
"Letting a penniless high school student treat you to a meal? Is it really appropriate for you to be a tutor? "Huo Yao emphasized the last few words.
Min Yu's lips twitched. "Why don't I treat you?"
Huo Yao rejected him lazily. "Forget it. My family will be worried if they can't contact me."
"Let's go." Min Yu rubbed his forehead and stopped teasing her.
Soon, the two of them got into the car.
In the car, Min Yu held the steering wheel with one hand and rested his left elbow on the door frame. His head was tilted, and his fingers kept pressing his temples. His face was abnormally pale, and there seemed to be some fatigue in his eyes.
Huo Yao glanced at him calmly and asked casually. "Didn't you rest well?"
"Does it look obvious?" Min Yu said in a low voice. He glanced sideways at her as he spoke.
Huo Yao's eyes narrowed slightly. She recalled that he had gone to the capital on business a few days ago. Then, she recalled what the old lady had said today and suddenly asked in astonishment. "Don't tell me you came back overnight because of my grandmother?"
Min Yu was still massaging his temples. He evaded the question and said, "Of course I had to come back."
