Chapter 949

Words:2091Update:22/04/11 11:36:13

Report

Mo Fan and Mu Ningxue were in charge of visiting Tinuoaya City. Apart from the shoal, there were a few places close to the water where the Drowning Curse had appeared.

Similar to serial murders, there were always similarities between the cases. They could use the similarities to guess the murderer's gender, occupation, and group of people.

The Drowning Curse had appeared randomly on the people in the cities near the sea, but it did not mean the people who had died from the Drowning Curse were unrelated. Mo Fan and Mu Ningxue were trying to find the key from the people who had died. Otherwise, they would not be able to find any clues apart from the people who had drowned for no reason.

They went to visit the old man first. The old man had seen eight corpses, so he might be able to find something.

The old man was a little mysterious. He told Mo Fan and Mu Ningxue a legend, saying that it was a sea sacrifice. The god of the ocean needed people to pay tribute to them in order to ensure the weather was favorable.

To Mo Fan, the legend was no different from a made-up story.

Sacrifices that required people to pay with their lives were all bullsh * t. Something that took people's lives was not worthy of being called a god. Everything had to be based on science. It was already the twenty-first century. How could there still be such outdated superstitions!?

"I've asked the relatives. The three people who died this month didn't know each other. I took a look at their photos and noticed that their skin was slightly tanned. Their families told me that they were passionate about swimming," Mo Fan said.

"Passionate about swimming?" Mu Ningxue was confused.

"Hehe, I don't think it's a clue either," Mo Fan shrugged.

Ever since he learned magic, Mo Fan felt like he was more interested in fighting and killing. He was no longer good at using his brain.

Mo Fan saw a man walking toward him after passing through an alley filled with fresh flowers. He was holding a bottle of beer in his hand with a relaxed look on his face.

The man soon noticed Mu Ningxue, who was also walking toward him. His lips curled up and he whistled at the fairy-like Mu Ningxue. His eyes were staring at Mu Ningxue's smooth collarbone, trying to look deeper.

"Are you treating me like I don't exist?" Mo Fan glared at the man and said in an unfriendly tone. Mo Fan yelled.

"Who the hell do you think you are?" the hot-tempered man immediately snapped back.

"Piss off!" Mo Fan waved his hand and unleashed the power of the Space Element in the man's direction.

Mo Fan did not go all out. He was just trying to teach the idiot a lesson.

Unexpectedly, the man was not someone who was easy to deal with. He quickly rolled up a layer of water silk on his body to protect himself.

"Space Element? You're an Advanced Magician? "The man raised his brows. He was impressed by Mo Fan.

"Why aren't you leaving yet?" Mo Fan said.

"So what if I'm an Advanced Magician …"

Mo Fan gave the man another slap. He could not be bothered to listen to the little rascal's nonsense!

This time, Mo Fan used more force. After all, he knew the man was a Magician too.

The force landed on the man's body. The man could not withstand it this time. He was sent flying down the long alleyway.

He fell to the ground and smashed the beer in his hand, leaving bubbles all over the ground. The man did not seem to be injured. He rose to his feet angrily. He knew he was no match for Mo Fan. He pointed at Mo Fan and said, "Kid, this is my territory. You'll have to kneel and apologize to me later!"

The man turned around and ran away after finishing the sentence. The alleyway was complicated. Mo Fan tried to catch him and teach him a lesson, but the man had already disappeared.

"Coward!" Mo Fan found the man quite amusing.

"Just ignore him. Don't waste your time on someone like him." Mu Ningxue did not agree with Mo Fan's behavior.

"You're good-looking, so it's normal for people to look at you. However, he even whistled in front of me. Not only was he being unscrupulous toward you, he was provoking me too! I'm already being merciful enough that I didn't beat the crap out of him, "Mo Fan said calmly.

Mo Fan always had his reasons. Mu Ningxue was too lazy to argue with him. As a matter of fact, in Mu Ningxue's eyes, Mo Fan was even more perverted than the man!

They arrived at a residential area. It was the seventh house that Mo Fan and Mu Ningxue were going to visit.

If the only clue that the victims shared the same hobby of swimming, Mo Fan would rather go back to the inn and sleep …

When they arrived at the seventh house, Mo Fan suddenly smelled a foul stench as he entered the yard covered in purple vines.

Mu Ningxue smelled it too. She subconsciously covered her nose. She was confused why such a clean yard would have such a foul stench.

"Is anyone here?" Mo Fan went inside and pushed the wooden door open.

"Is anyone here? Your house is stinking!" Mo Fan yelled again.

There was no response from the house. Mo Fan and Mu Ningxue exchanged glances with one another.

Mo Fan quickened his pace and went straight into the living room of the house.

"What, what are you doing? Assholes, how dare you trespass into my house, I'm going to kill you!" a familiar voice came from outside the yard.

Mo Fan and Mu Ningxue turned around and saw it was the Water Mage with the perverted aura from before.

Was this his house?

Mo Fan and Mu Ningxue did not know whether to laugh or cry. The world was seriously too small.

"Is this your house?" Mo Fan asked.

"Of course, don't cross the line. Even if you're an Advanced Mage, you can't come all the way to my house just because you took a few glances at your girlfriend!" the Water Mage said.

"Something's burnt in your house, can't you smell it?" Mo Fan said.

The Water Mage took a deep breath and immediately retched. He had completely ignored the foul stench when he saw Mo Fan and Mu Ningxue barging into the house.

"Why is it so smelly?" the Water Mage said.

"Ask yourself, I think it's coming from this room," Mo Fan pointed at a room that was completely locked.

The room was locked from the outside, and even the gaps were nailed shut. Mo Fan immediately felt that something was not right. Apart from imprisoning someone, no one would do something like that.

The man was startled. His expression shifted immediately.

He quickly took out the key and opened the door with a trembling hand.

As soon as the door was pushed open, a foul stench immediately assailed their noses. The three immediately held their breaths!

"Norke, Norke!" the man yelled and ran into the room.

Mo Fan followed behind them, but he soon saw a disgusting sight. He was lost in thought for a moment!

The man was dumbfounded, too. He fell to the ground in a daze …

Mu Ningxue turned her face away, not daring to look further.

Mo Fan had seen a lot of gruesome scenes, yet he still felt a little uncomfortable after witnessing the scene in front of him.

There was a man in the room, who was obviously locked up. It seemed like the man was also locked up by the Water Mage.

However, the man in the room was already dead.

His wrist was cut open, and a huge amount of blood was flowing out. The blood was stored in an iron basin. The man's entire face was soaked in it, as if he had drowned.

Perhaps it was impossible to tell if he had died from excessive blood loss or drowning. Either way, his body was pale and shriveled, and his death was exactly the same as the Drowning Curse!

The man cried for a long time. It was obvious that the man called Norke was his younger brother.

More tragically, around three months ago, his older brother had died to the Drowning Curse, too …

In other words, two people in his family had died to the Drowning Curse!

"Tell us what happened, I believe you are more interested in finding out the cause of their deaths than anyone else," Mo Fan bought the man a few bottles of beer to help him calm down.

The man downed two bottles in one go. It was obvious that he could not accept the truth.

"Norke likes to surf, but I didn't allow it, so he came up to me and scratched me like a madman. I thought he was out of his mind, so I locked him up in the room. I didn't go home last night. I was planning to lock him up for the whole day so he could reflect on his actions, but he ended up drowning himself in his own blood. What did I do wrong? "Bobby said.

"I don't think it has anything to do with you, but it's strange that two people have died to the Drowning Curse in your family. The Drowning Curse happens all over the world, but it's impossible for it to happen to the same family twice. Did your brother and Norke go to the same place, or do the same things, or eat the same things?" Mo Fan asked seriously.

"They were always together. I'm a Magician, so I rarely go home. I spend most of my time at the Magic Association. My brother always brings Norke out to play. I don't know where they went," Bobby said.

Bobby seemed to be very sad. He was stuttering, too. Mo Fan did not ask any further. He would have to wait for the man to calm down before he could analyze the situation rationally.

Mo Fan and Mu Ningxue went to the side. They could see the fear and uneasiness in each other's eyes.

"It's so scary," Mu Ningxue whispered.

"Yeah, I believe this Norke is under the Drowning Curse, too. Normally, he would run to the beach and drown himself. Unfortunately, Bobby locked him up in his house, preventing his brother from touching any water. In the end, his brother used the same method to complete the Drowning Curse. It's no longer just a plague, it's some kind of mental torture and control, "Mo Fan said.

"But what kind of mental control would make a person drown himself in his own blood?" Mu Ningxue said.

"I've already notified Lingling. Don't touch the scene for now. I believe we might be able to find some valuable clues about the Drowning Curse!" Mo Fan said seriously.

Initially, Mo Fan was still treating the matter as a reward, but after witnessing the terrifying sight with his own eyes, he no longer had the slightest inclination to be at ease!
