Witnessing Sheyan's overreaching treatment, Mbenga groaned out in incomparable agony. His facial muscles were contorted as he rolled violently on the ground, trying his best to reach his back. Sheyan instantly noticed a hollow tree trunk carved into a rectangular water flask.
The helpless Sheyan hurriedly offered his assistance as he passed the water flask to Mbenga. The scarlet scar on Mbenga's face swelled up, looking extremely mournful. He ferociously gulped down several mouthfuls of the liquid within the flask, seemingly suppressing the abnormal movements in his body. Then, he scampered to the nearby swamp, not caring if it was clean or not, as he frantically searched for weird objects to stuff into his mouth.
There were all sorts of weird objects. Living water treading spiders, leeches, water cockroaches, black fleas, reeds with their roots stained with black muddy water …... however, Mbenga's movements gradually became nimble and nimble after consuming those objects. Evidently, his body was in the midst of recovery. Sheyan heaved a sigh of relief. If this guide died here, it would be inconvenient.
After Mbenga was almost done eating, he directly squatted down to defecate, before slumping to the ground. Sheyan hurriedly walked over, observing the blood stains and viscous filaments that reeked of an unbearable stench. Sheyan then brought Mbenga away and washed him with clean water. Pondering for a moment, Sheyan retrieved his' Endless Vodka 'flask and fed him several mouthfuls. Based on his experience, a soul equipment should be something between a contestant's and a storyline mission's item. It should have a possibility of being effective on both.
Indeed, under the stimulation of alcohol, after drinking a mouthful, Mbenga proactively grabbed the flask and gulped it down. After emptying it, he regretfully shook his head, yearning for more. After the detoxification was completed, he stood up and limped a few steps in exhaustion. Sheyan then carved a crutch for him from a nearby tree. It allowed Mbenga to forcefully trudge forward. At this moment, Sheyan finally had the time to converse and listen to Mbenga's narration of events after their separation.
As it turns out, after the group was besieged by the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile horde, Sheyan had attracted the firepower of two Deathmarsh Great Crocodiles away. Thus, the group was finally able to maintain a stalemate. In fact, if the battle persisted, they might even be able to slay the remaining Deathmarsh Great Crocodiles.
Listening till here, Sheyan couldn't help but be astonished by Reef's prowess. After becoming a Growth-hunter, Sheyan felt that his prowess was like a deep and dark well. Sheyan was unable to fathom its depths, unable to estimate its limits.
At present, Sheyan reckoned that he would be hard-pressed to defeat a single Deathmarsh Great Crocodile, and could at most drag it out for half an hour. Instead, Reef could withstand the frenzied assaults of three Deathmarsh Great Crocodiles, and even faintly possessed the capability to defeat them. Such fearsomeness was undoubtedly related to his equipment, but more importantly, it was due to Reef's accumulated strength. He had delayed his transition to a Growth-hunter at the most despairing moment, and naturally reaped tremendous benefits.
Nevertheless, nothing could develop in the most ideal direction. Just when the situation was gradually turning for the better, the sounds of their battle with the Deathmarsh Great Crocodiles had alarmed the Ndipaya aborigines of the village. Seizing the opportunity, those Ndipaya aborigines launched a sneak attack from the rear. Instantly, the entire scene was thrown into chaos. More than half of the aborigines hired by Sheyan were slain, while the rest were scattered.
The only good news was – the Ndipaya aborigines weren't able to coexist peacefully with the Deathmarsh Great Crocodiles. Most probably, they had lost their sense of measure due to their complacency, and suffered the accidental injuries of those ferocious beasts. Amidst the chaotic three-way battle, the valiant Mbenga had the misfortune of being targeted as a big fish. He and that masked old fogey, one fleeing while the other chased, and were chased here. Fortunately, he was rescued by Sheyan, while the rest were probably being pursued.
Sheyan knew that Mbenga was familiar with the terrain, and allowed him to lead the way in search of the fleeing aborigines. In the end, after running to 2-3 places, they noticed bloodstains on the ground from afar. Apart from that, there were unexpectedly clumps of washbasin sized yellowish green traces, with specks of radiating mucus and carapace spraying out from the surroundings.
Observing such traces, Sheyan's heart stirred as he immediately chased after the traces. From afar, he could see Reef wielding a dark-gold shield radiating with radiance, as he defended against the frenzied assaults of a Deathmarsh Great Crocodile. Behind him were 5-6 aborigines. Though they appeared rather fatigued, their morale was exceedingly high. They leapt in and out incessantly, as they brandished their pikes and roared loudly.
Yet strangely, after blocking 2-3 assaults of the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile, Reef would stealthily release a speck of different colors from his shield, before drifting into the body of the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile. Then, wherever the speck of light entered, a pustule would swell up.
Very quickly, the pustule would rupture, as a fist-sized beetle draped in a hard chitin carapace crawled out. Its carapace was black, green and silver, and it crawled on the ground with incredible speed! Once it made contact with the body of the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile, it would ferociously latch onto it, before incessantly biting with its mandibles. After 2-2 minutes, the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile would automatically explode, releasing a blood red mist that dispersed out like mist. Then, it would dissolve into the bodies of Reef and the surrounding aborigines, restoring their HP.
The right eye of this Deathmarsh Great Crocodile had been blinded, as a turbid liquid flowed out. A bizarre looking dart was stuck onto its head. Shockingly, the body of the dart was imprinted with a lump of imprint, where several meandering veins could be seen on the surface of the imprint. It resembled the protruding veins of a human, throbbing and sucking. Reef's dart pouch was similarly imprinted with a similar imprint. The imprinted veins on the dart were sucking in the essence of the enemy, while his dart pouch was receiving nutrients to feed back to its host.
These were Reef's two most valiant abilities in battle. One was the 'Birmingham Stuka' hand-dart pouch ', and the other was the formidable ability of his newly acquired dark-gold grade shield –' Parasitic Scarab Egg '!
Relying on these two monstrous abilities, Reef was stalling and stalling against this Deathmarsh Great Crocodile. Although he appeared exceedingly wretched, with his body tumbling around like a mud monkey, and a button-sized black blood-sucking tick on his face, he was still able to endure. Furthermore, the surrounding aborigines were valiantly assisting in their assaults. They were using the wooden pikes that Sheyan had acquired previously, which could effectively transmit diseases. In addition, Reef's Scarab Scarabs possessed an area of effect healing effect. Therefore, the aborigines were brimming with vigor as they incessantly attacked.
At this moment, Sheyan could see that Reef was in imminent danger. It seemed like his party ability and 'Achievement Medicine Mix' had been exhausted, and he was utterly exhausted. Hence, Sheyan hastily charged forward! A chilling deep-blue glint flashed, as he chopped down towards the right hind leg of the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile!
Saber rays and fresh blood simultaneously gushed out. The hind leg of this Deathmarsh Great Crocodile had already been pierced by a half-broken wooden pike, and the edges of the wound had turned black and festered. Even the incomparably tough crocodile hide had rotted away. Sheyan's incomparably sinister saber sliced through the wound, as it instantly sliced through the thick crocodile hide. Blood and pus gushed out, exposing the eerie white bones, which were instantly drowned in the surging blood.
The Deathmarsh Great Crocodile groaned in incomparable agony, as its tail swiped towards Sheyan. Instead, Sheyan was long prepared, as he half knelt on the ground, lowering his centre of gravity to the lowest possible level! Raising his' + 7 West ', he forcefully blocked the tail swipe. Although his vision darkened from the impact of the tail swipe, as he staggered back several metres with blood leaking out from his mouth, he wasn't sent flying.
This swipe had finally triggered Sheyan's passive ability – 'Zergling Rush'! The phantom of a zergling floated out from his back. Sheyan brandished his saber, as three consecutive slashes chopped down without hesitation towards the wound of the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile. Not only did these three vicious slashes disintegrate the flesh and bone of the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile into a mangled mess of flesh and blood, Sheyan ignored the frantic swipe of the tail, as he raised his leg and viciously stomped down on the end of the broken wooden pike. Forcefully stomping down, the wooden pike directly penetrated into the body of the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile!
A second later, Sheyan was sent flying by the incomparably agonized tail of the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile!
This was the counterattack of the Giant Crocodile, and its power was not to be underestimated. It hit him like a golf ball that was about to hit a hole in one. He was directly sent flying into the swamp behind him, and rolled for twenty to thirty meters with a swooshing sound! Instantly turning into a black mud monkey, when he finally crawled up with great difficulty, he coughed out several mouthfuls of blood.
Instead, Sheyan's actions had practically crippled the right leg of the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile. A crocodile's speed on land would naturally be suppressed, what more now when it was only left with 3 legs? After Sheyan staggered to his feet, he immediately realized that this unlucky Deathmarsh Great Crocodile had lost its rationality amidst the agonizing torment, as it pounced ferociously towards him!
After being sent flying by the tail swipe, Sheyan's vision spun and several of his ribs were broken. Instead, his legs weren't injured at all. Sheyan immediately crawled up and fled. Moreover, this was the boundary between the primitive jungle and the Kijuju Marshland. Sheyan took a huge detour towards the direction of his escape, and directly fled into the primitive jungle. Dragging the Deathmarsh Great Crocodile for 200-300 metres, he finally leapt onto a large tree.
With this period of delay, Reef naturally slumped to the ground and panted heavily. Those bandages, medicines, food and other items that could be broken upon receiving injuries were all used up. When Sheyan finally climbed up the tree, Reef had already obtained sufficient time to recover his HP. His HP had already recovered from 20% to 90%. (To be continued.)
