All of a sudden, Reef's hoarse voice resounded urgently.
"Eh, something big seems to have happened. Those damned enslaved half-beastmen are running away like frightened Irish hares. What are those things? Heavens ….. wait, two orcs are fleeing towards your direction! "
Before Sheyan could ponder over Reef's words, he heard 'two orcs rushing over'. His entire body tensed up as he hurriedly notified Melody.
Melody's eyes flashed with a cold glint. Specks of green started congregating around her hands, as though the green glint was rather heavy. When an orc appeared at the corner of the cave ahead, the delicate and delicate looking Melody released a tender shout. The green glint in her hands congealed into a wooden javelin with green leaves and branches growing on it. She ferociously hurled it out!
Daybreak Dictum Javelin!
The javelin did not seem to be flying at a fast speed, but as it flew through the air, it left behind a spiral of air ripples. It was as slow as fate, but it was so resolute that it seemed to want to break through the seal of time!
Following her hurling motion, Sheyan felt a gust of wind blowing against his face, as though all the air in the cave had been sucked dry. Even breathing became difficult! That orc had just peeked its head out, when its chest was pierced through by the javelin! It stood there lifelessly, its face revealing an indescribable expression. It widened its mouth as though it wanted to scream, but no sound came out.
Melody pointed with her finger, as the treant brandished its stiff half wooden arms and pounced towards the back. Strings of green vines coiled around its arms, resembling tentacles. The other orc that was sprinting up the spiral staircase was instantly intercepted.
The intercepted orc was extremely irritable, as it released a series of furious roars from its throat. Very bluntly, it punched over. Its body was extremely tall and sturdy, as it punched out, its muscles rippled, appearing extremely ferocious.
The green treant raised its stiff wooden arms to block, but it directly stumbled backwards. Obviously, its strength was far inferior to the orc. Yet the orc's punch was deflected, as it heavily smashed into the nearby stone wall. Shattered rocks flew everywhere, as the fist deeply embedded into the stone wall, up to its elbow. When it was pulled out, a huge cloud of dust and debris.
The orc's fist missed, the orc, with a furious roar, rushed forward. The green treant didn't dodge, but used its chest to welcome the attack.
"Kacha!" Half of the green treant's chest caved in, and the cracks on the wound spread out like wood cracking. But the green vines on its body were like ropes, as they coiled around the orc's body, greedily absorbing its blood like a parasite. The orc roared furiously, as it desperately tore apart the green vines, but what it pulled out was its own flesh and blood.
At this moment, Melody once again used her slender fingers to draw an ancient elf script in the air. This time, she only drew a single symbol, but this symbol's surface was sparkling with a glaring radiance.
Like a ray of dazzling sunlight when the sun rises at dawn!
Then the symbol started to revolve rapidly in the air. When the orc had just broken free from the vines, it lowered its head and charged out. That mysterious symbol shot out with an indescribable speed!
It directly pierced through its body!
The rapidly rotating runes left a bowl-sized bloody hole in the orc's chest.
Furthermore, the surrounding of the bloody hole was scorched black, not a single drop of blood spilled out!
The orc's physique was extremely strong, as it continued to charge upwards for 10 metres. Its face exposed a look of disbelief, as it reached out to touch its chest. The result was that it touched nothing. At this moment, its entire body trembled violently, as it couldn't help but raise its head to look at the elf maiden's icy cold gaze. Then, the flame of life in its eyes gradually dimmed, disappearing, completely extinguished.
Then its massive body rolled down the slope, emitting a rumbling sound. Finally, it crashed against a rock at the bottom.
Simultaneously, the vines on the treant's body swiftly pierced into the ground, as it rapidly took root. In a short span of 10 seconds, it had transformed into a real tree. That unlucky orc's flesh had become the tree's nourishment. However, with the sudden appearance of a luxuriant green tree, it seemed rather out of place compared to the cave's environment.
Melody strolled forward, as her slender snow white fingers pressed against the tree's leaves. One could observe green rays flashing continuously, as she directly absorbed them. The previously expended spirit energy and magic energy was directly absorbed back into her body. Furthermore, the orc's tree withered at a speed visible to the naked eye, before finally crumbling into ashes and scattering onto the ground.
This method of nourishing battle was mysterious and cruel, but more importantly, it was the unique elegance of the elves. Looking at those specks of green rays brimming with vitality, it was hard to imagine that it was a sacrifice of life.
"Truly formidable." Sheyan couldn't help but sigh in admiration. At present, without the enhancement of his equipment, if he had to face the orcs head on, it would be a complete defeat. Instead, the elf maiden had effortlessly disposed of two orcs, and it seemed like she still had strength to spare. Before Sheyan could finish lamenting, Reef's flustered and exasperated shout drifted in from below.
"Damn it! Hurry up and help me get rid of these repulsive fools, before that old, stupid and damnable fat octopus returns! "
It was rare for Sheyan to hear Reef's furious and frantic shouts. He didn't dare to tarry, and directly sprinted downwards along the spiralling tunnel. When he exited the narrow tunnel, he was instantly astonished.
In front of him was an enormous hollow mountain belly. On the rocks of the mountain belly, there were numerous underground moss plants that emitted a faint phosphorescent glow. Thus, the entire mountain belly wasn't dark at all. This mountain belly was so vast it could at least fit 4-5 football fields. The terrain was low in the west and high in the east. The highest point of the mountain belly was close to a hundred metres, while the lowest point was at least 10 metres.
At the west side of the mountain belly, there were ripples of water, forming into a sparkling and crystalline underground lake. It occupied roughly a quarter of the mountain belly's surface area. According to Sheyan's conjecture, this underground lake should be connected to the lake they swam through, and could even be connected to other water bodies. That colossal octopus, Ocean-freak Moria, should have passed through that underground lake to reach this place.
Furthermore, on the east side of the mountain belly, the rocks emitted a peculiar sulphur smell. The surface of the rocks had an indescribable scorched black color. If one touched the surface of the rocks, they could feel a distinct warmth that was at least 20 degrees celsius. Not only that, the temperature of the entire mountain belly felt like it was overflowing with warm air. There was even a faint sulphur smell. For such a stifling environment to appear beneath the snowy peaks, one couldn't help but sigh in admiration at the miraculous nature of nature.
At the eastern end of the mountain belly, they could faintly make out a deep black gigantic stone arch. This arch appeared to be naturally formed, but a dense menacing aura wafted out from it. It was very similar to the cave entrance at the end of the valley. It seemed like the gigantic cave at the end of the valley was connected to the back of the arched door.
When they entered the mountain belly, they were coincidentally in the middle of the mountain belly, and was even closer to the underground lake. Following Reef's shouts, they immediately chased over. In the end, they discovered numerous rock crevices not far from their right. These crevices varied in size, and were all covered in large amounts of mucus foam.
After the mucus foam had congealed, it solidified like a plastic. Some were still in a half melted state, giving off a crystalline feel. Within the mucus foam, there were large amounts of black oval-shaped objects, like stars adorning the surface.
These objects were extremely familiar to Sheyan, they were the 'black oval-shaped stones' he had discovered along the way – Ocean-freak Moria's eggs. Furthermore, they discovered that the Ocean-freak Moria's eggs were only the size of a bean. They constantly wriggled within the mucus foam, and once they encountered each other, they would stick together and frantically devour each other! There wasn't a shred of affection between siblings.
For example, the orange sized Ocean-freak Moria's egg that Sheyan picked up, it had devoured at least 10 other eggs before it matured to such a degree! Furthermore, when the egg matured to the size of an orange, it seemed to have entered another stage. It directly sank to the bottom of the mucus foam, coming in contact with the rocks. It seemed like it was borrowing the heat of the rocks to incubate. (To be continued. If you like this work, I welcome you to donate your recommendation votes or monthly votes.
