Jill didn't say anything.
When she entered the police department in the afternoon, the other officers had treated the zombies as human beings, but she had cleanly blown up quite a few zombies' heads.
Jill never showed mercy when it was time to kill. In the blink of an eye, Luke had blown up the heads of all the Umbrella mercenaries lying outside before he stopped. He hadn't forgotten his ultimate goal.
He wanted to get a list of Alice's abilities.
The bet just now was about who could kill the most Umbrella mercenaries.
Carlos would definitely be first. He had sent at least twenty people to the sky with two rocket launchers.
But all Luke needed to do was to defeat Alice. The last hit was to kill the monster and kill it.
Several mercenaries were only heavily injured and on the verge of death. Now, it was his turn to kill them.
Everybody slowly pressed forward, but Luke didn't get too close. He simply watched from twenty meters away.
Alice and Carlos looked at each other, then flashed out of the rear hatch at the same time. Bang!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The last mercenary soldier fell to the ground.
In less than a minute, Luke saw Kane, the supervisor, thrown out of the helicopter.
Then, with the lights from the cabin and the fire, he could see that everybody was asking questions.
Kane still looked the same. He wasn't particularly panicked, and seemed to be trying to convince Alice.
In the end, it was clear that he didn't succeed. Carlos took out his pistol and shot Kane in the thigh, causing him to scream.
Without hesitation, Alice followed and shot him in the other leg.
Then, Carlos seemed to say something to Jill and Payton. After a brief hesitation, they shook their heads and walked back.
On the other side, Nicolas excitedly took out his pistol and fired a dozen bullets at Kane's limbs.
As he fired, he roared, "Haha, trash, how about it? Does it feel good now? Didn't you leave us behind? Who's lying here like trash now? You scum, you killed an entire squad. You tossed them into the city and then ignored them. Do you know how many of them were torn apart by those lunatics? Even now, I can still hear their screams before they die … "
Jill and Payton couldn't stand Nicolas's behavior, but when they heard what he said, they looked away again and continued to leave.
Both of them were police officers, so they had a basic moral bottom line.
But anyone whose family, friends, and colleagues had all been killed wouldn't be much better off than Nicolas.
Jill walked over and looked at Luke. "Why aren't you going over?"
Luke shook his head. "This is your revenge. I just want to watch this guy die."
Jill silently shook his head, took out a cigarette and lighter, and lit it up in that cool posture again.
Luke stretched out his hand with a smile. "Give me one."
Jill tossed a pack of cigarettes and a lighter to Luke. Luke lit one and took a deep drag, only to start coughing violently.
Jill was stunned. "You … don't smoke?"
Looking at the night sky, Luke smiled. "I quit a long time ago."
Jill and Payton: … Motherf * cker! How old are you? What the hell do you mean you quit a long time ago?
They didn't know that Luke smoked in his previous life.
He had never smoked in his life. After all, he was not addicted to smoking.
But apart from the fact that Luke had been provoked at the beginning, the way he smoked later showed that he was a veteran.
Jill and Payton: … Did you really smoke a long time ago?
On the other side, Carlos and Alice had arrived.
Luke asked, "Are you done?"
Alice nodded and didn't say anything, but Carlos asked curiously, "Why didn't you go over?"
Luke shrugged. "I'm relieved that he's dead."
Everybody: "…"
Nikolai ran over with the delight of revenge on his face.
Luke looked over and saw that Kane didn't seem to be dead, but his limbs were broken. "You're not going to kill him?"
"I planted a booby trap in his body. When Umbrella comes to collect his body, there'll be a boom!" Nikolai made an explosive gesture with his hand.
Everybody was speechless.
A moment later, Luke nodded. "Then let's … huh?" He raised his head and narrowed his eyes when he saw two helicopters flying over.
Alice looked at the night sky too. "It's the two helicopters that followed us just now. Kane must've warned them not to crash."
Carlos chuckled. "Nikolai, follow me. Kane's helicopter has two rocket launchers."
Luke didn't stop them.
The smile on Luke's face hadn't faded after Kane was thrown off the helicopter. He was in a very good mood at that moment.
A moment later, there were two explosions. Caught off guard, the two helicopters were blown up into fireballs.
On the other side, Carlos and Selina dropped the rocket launchers and returned.
Luke said, "Let's go, Nikolai. I need you to take me back to the gas station. My partners are there."
Satisfied, Nikolai patted his shoulder. "No problem. You're a good guy."
Carlos patted his shoulder too. "You're a good guy."
Luke was speechless. Was this a curse? No wonder one of you only lived for half an episode, and the other didn't survive more than two episodes.
Everybody boarded the helicopter and returned to the gas station.
The police officers and Robert were still there, and so was Selina.
Seeing that everybody was back, everybody started asking questions.
But Luke had said before he returned that it was best not to mention that they were going to kill Kane to these unrelated people, in case they got involved.
Since these people hadn't chosen to go with them, they naturally didn't want any trouble. It wouldn't be good for them to know.
Luke and Selina said goodbye to everybody else. Alice's Umbrella helicopter was bigger, and it took Jill, Payton, Robert, and the police officers to the nearest city, where they would be dropped off.
Before they parted, Luke said to Alice and the others, "Okay, let's part ways here. When we meet again, we can have a drink or something."
Saying that, he waved his hand and left.
He couldn't say anything else.
According to the plot of the movie, Alice's every move was being monitored.
Whatever she saw and heard would be known by Umbrella, until she destroyed the control chip with her telekinesis.
Luke had been very careful not to show too much of himself in front of Alice. Whether it was his physical fitness in battle or what he said, everything was reasonable.
He didn't want Umbrella to target him and turn him into a test subject.
A moment later, the two helicopters took off and went their separate ways.
Luke made a call on the helicopter and said a few words. Then, he said to Selina with a smile, "Let's go back to the Houston Police Department."
(A word of warning: The Resident Evil storyline is over. There won't be any more stories in the future. Just pretend that Thanos destroyed Umbrella in case he couldn't collect the Infinity Gems.
