The darkness vaguely resembled a human shadow, but it looked as enormous as a black cloud as it loomed over the female angel's head.
There were also two black shadows on both sides of it, surrounding the woman below as if to protect her.
The black shadow's facial features were blurry and abstract. The two blood-red dots were its eyes, and there was only a slightly bulging shadow where its mouth should be. A series of dark red blood droplets were dripping from it, merging into the bloodstain on the woman's head.
Was this artist … a devil? Luke complained inwardly, Wasn't this new shadow graffiti talking about him?
All he did was cover himself and kill dozens of gangsters. Was there a need to paint him like this?
Those who didn't know better would think it was a graffiti, but those who did would think that he was a supernatural being! Not only was it black all over and had blood-red eyes, it didn't have a mouth that was dripping blood. No matter how he looked at it, he looked like a villain in a horror movie.
Selina, however, wasn't as conflicted as he was. She continued, "Actually, it's pretty good. It's a little gothic and sci-fi."
Luke mumbled, "It looks like a movie poster from an American horror movie."
Hearing that, Selina observed the graffiti for a moment, before she burst out laughing. "Now that you mention it, it does look a little interesting."
After laughing, they went to the dumpster where the FBI agent's body had been found two hundred meters away. Again, they didn't ask any questions; it was obvious that they were just taking a quick look.
While they were investigating, there were people watching them from inside and outside the various plastic sheets and canvas sheds around them.
But nobody paid any attention to them. They were all vigilant and indifferent.
Luke, on the other hand, stopped somewhere for a moment and looked at one of the sheds.
There was a little girl watching them.
Luke's Sharp Nose, however, picked up the scent of another acquaintance. He was helpless. Bloodmint, how dare you come back here? Do you want to die?
Luke actually had a rough idea why Bloodmint would come back here.
This little girl was the hostage that Garcia had used to threaten Bloodmint to show up. However, Bloodmint hadn't shown up, and Luke had taken her place.
So, the little girl had to be connected to Bloodmint, which was why she had come back to check on her.
After that, Luke and Selina left the east side to work on other cases.
It was not until five o 'clock in the afternoon that the two returned home.
Robert and Claire were watching TV in the living room, and Catherine was cooking dinner in the kitchen.
After the two of them washed up, dinner began.
The three of them were very energetic after catching up on sleep during the day, which was why Luke and Selina didn't go home at noon.
Dinner at home was not so taboo.
While eating, Claire told Catherine about what she had seen in Los Angeles over the past few days.
Robert, however, said, "Los Angeles will probably be in chaos soon. Be careful when you go out."
Luke found that odd. "What's wrong?"
Robert wasn't a resident of Los Angeles, and he had only arrived today. It was strange for him to suddenly bring up such a topic.
Robert glanced at him and then at the TV in the living room. He pouted. "Isn't it on TV? The guy said on TV that he'll pay a hundred million dollars to whoever gets him out of prison."
Luke also heard the sound from the TV.
During dinner just now, the TV had been adjusted to a volume that was barely audible, but wouldn't disrupt their conversation.
He turned his head and saw a female host on TV saying solemnly, "Alex Montell's family is spread across many countries in the world. They are involved in all kinds of illegal activities such as arms smuggling and drug trafficking. His net worth is estimated to be billions of dollars …"
Luke watched for a moment. "Why didn't you mention the hundred million dollars?"
Robert chuckled. "I watched it live in the afternoon, but I can't see it now."
Luke got it.
It must be because the TV station still cared about their reputation, and couldn't openly advertise for criminals.
In fact, everybody who should know the news would know, and it didn't matter whether the TV station aired it or not.
Luke thought for a moment, then put the matter aside for now.
This matter … seemed a little interesting.
He would think about it carefully when he was alone.
After dinner, everybody chatted in the backyard.
The three women soaked in the big bathtub again, while Luke and Robert chatted on the side.
In the end, Robert said that both he and Catherine wanted to fly to Europe the next day and continue their scheduled itinerary.
It wasn't easy for them to make up their minds on this trip, and they couldn't go home just because of a minor accident.
Naturally, Luke had no objections.
What happened on the cruise was really nothing to Robert.
Catherine hadn't seen the criminals or the mutated giant octopus in person, so she wasn't much affected.
Besides, London, Paris, and the beautiful scenery on the Mediterranean coast were the perfect way to resolve her unhappiness.
Catherine had once dreamed of being an artist, and seeing the works of countless masters in Europe would definitely put her in a good mood.
Robert didn't care. With Catherine's company, it wouldn't be any worse than when he was a soldier running around the world.
The next day, Luke and Selina went to work as usual.
Robert was certain that Los Angeles would fall into chaos, which Luke agreed with, but it would take some time.
At the very least, the criminals wouldn't be mobilized until Alex Montell moved.
Until then, both the police and the criminals would keep relatively quiet.
Robert and Catherine didn't let Luke and Selina see them off. They went to the airport on their own and boarded a flight to London.
Claire went out again today, but Luke specifically told her that she couldn't go to places with few people.
In the car, Selina said, "I didn't know the guy we caught was so rich. No wonder six armed criminals broke the van yesterday."
Luke nodded and said, "But how long he can live is another matter."
Selina asked, "What do you mean?"
Luke sneered. "Whether or not anyone succeeds in rescuing him, he's already on the American police's blacklist."
If the LAPD suffered heavy losses, it was possible that a "stray bullet" would "coincidentally" hit this troublemaker.
It was one thing to pay someone to rescue him in private, but to pay someone on TV openly? Did he really think that the police were so good-tempered?
Alex Montell was naturally the young fugitive that Luke and Selina had caught yesterday.
The guy had asked for Luke's name in a threatening tone after he was caught. He was definitely arrogant and vengeful, and had probably killed a lot of people before.
When they arrived at the police department, Elsa was lost for words for a moment before she heaved a sigh. "You really know how to arrest people."
Clearly, she also knew about Alex's hundred-million-dollar bounty.
Luke didn't think much of it. He said with a smile, "Boss, can you blame us? You can only blame the first police officer who caught him. "
