Two Milky Way transport aircraft slowly flew past the cruise ship and spat out a few small ships from their big bellies.
With these small warships, the carriers wouldn't be full, but they could easily fit two hundred people.
In less than ten minutes, four hovercrafts arrived.
Then, a searchlight from one of the hovercrafts shone over, and a loudspeaker rang out. "This is the United States Marine Corps. All personnel on board, please identify yourselves immediately, or we'll treat your hijacking of the cruise ship as a terrorist attack."
Luke glanced at Flegg, who said to an agent next to him, "Take a few people with you and stall these guys. Try to negotiate as slowly as possible."
Then, Flegg said to another subordinate, "Tell the collection team to hurry up and stop dilly-dallying. The robbers are already here."
After the two agents left, Luke said with a smile, "This is the Marines. Aren't you scared?"
Flegg grinned. "It's precisely because they say they're Marines that they're definitely not."
Luke was stumped.
Flegg explained casually, "Usually, when Marines come out to do something, they say they're from the navy, or even the Army Special Air Service, to make it easier to argue."
Luke instantly understood.
For example, Flegg, the FBI agent, and Wales, the FBI agent, were as unreliable as the Marines in front of him.
When it came to fake identities, the various departments in the United States were tangled up and complicated.
As long as they weren't caught with evidence, the various agencies often used each other's identities as scapegoats.
The people on the deck were clearly getting busy. Flegg turned his head and looked at Luke. "Do you want me to send you back?"
Luke nodded decisively. "Thank you very much. Can my two friends come with me? "
"Sure." Flegg agreed without hesitation. "It's best if you leave right away. If these guys come up, you definitely won't be able to get away."
"Five minutes at most." Hearing that, Luke immediately went into the cabin.
A moment later, Luke and his family boarded Flegg's hovercraft and headed for the seaplane.
After the plane took off, Luke looked at the cruise ship below and asked, "Are we going to leave this place to them?"
Flegg hummed in response. "They have official approval. Of course we have to hand it over to them."
In any case, he had already gotten what he wanted. Whoever wanted it could argue with the higher-ups. I'm only responsible for stealing it. He mumbled inwardly.
He was a frontline operative and only cared about operations.
How the higher-ups wrangled was their business. Otherwise, it would really be a waste of the mouths and faces of these big shots!
That was why he had taken Luke's family with him.
According to Luke, he was the only one on the ship who had seen the mutant octopus.
After Luke was taken away, the newcomers didn't know what Flegg had taken away.
It was impossible to attack directly.
Flegg was wearing the FBI's skin, and the other side didn't have the guts to fight the FBI, even if they weren't sure of Flegg's identity.
Now, even if they were cursing America's MMP in their hearts, they could only accept it. Who asked them to be late?
If the bigshots behind them were capable, they would naturally be able to get a share of the benefits from Flegg's boss. If they weren't, they could just go home and sulk.
Facing the rising sun, the plane landed on a base, and Flegg called a car for Luke and the others to leave the base.
He didn't have the time to send him off personally, and he didn't want Robert to attract attention, so he just nodded and said goodbye from afar.
Luke and the others took a bus that wasn't crowded in the morning and unhurriedly returned home.
When they opened the door and entered the house, Claire, who had been pacing in the living room, turned around and saw Catherine, who was the first to enter. She shouted and jumped at her. "Mom, you're back!"
Catherine hugged the little monkey with a smile and kissed her on the forehead. "Luke drove us back."
Claire was very happy.
Although Robert had already called her earlier to say that all three of them were safe and sound, how could she be completely at ease?
At that moment, when she saw Luke and the other two enter, she was finally relieved.
Luke smiled at the scene and signaled to Selina with his eyes to show that there wasn't a problem.
Selina also relaxed.
Luke had left in a hurry earlier. Although they had talked twice later, Claire had been anxious and restless, which made Selina feel uneasy.
Now that everyone was safe and sound, she was also able to relax.
After everybody sat down on the couch, she remembered something and asked in a low voice, "Where's Dollar?"
Luke said with a smile, "It should be here soon. Hm, it did a good job this time. I'm going to bleed a lot. "
Selina smiled. "All it knows how to do is eat. How much can it bleed?"
Luke smiled but didn't say anything.
Gold Nugget was going to be paid this time, and it couldn't be any less, or it would be a blow to its enthusiasm.
They couldn't be stingy.
As they talked, Gold Nugget crawled out from a side tunnel.
When Luke called Robert and Catherine, the guy had snuck over to the seaplane and snuck into the cabin to hide in a corner.
Then, under Luke's cover, it successfully got off the plane, slipped out of the base, and jogged home on the bus.
While Luke and Selina were talking, the dog head crawled in through the garage door that Luke had opened.
Rubbing the dog's head, Luke gave it a reassuring look to show that he wouldn't forget its payment. Satisfied, the guy lay down next to Selina and snored.
Gold Nugget wasn't tired, but Dollar was a little sleepy.
After talking for a while, Luke went to wash up. He had to go to work later.
Robert, Catherine, and Claire hadn't slept all night, and needed to rest.
Everybody went their separate ways, and the house soon quieted down.
Listening to the sound of cars leaving the window, Catherine sighed.
Robert reached out and hugged her. "What's wrong?"
Catherine smiled bitterly. "I always wanted him to be ordinary and safe, so I asked you to help him get a job as a sheriff in Shackelford. Who knew that he would … "
After a brief silence, Robert hugged her a little tighter. "It's fine. He's quite capable. If there's any trouble, I'll help. "
Catherine hummed in acknowledgment, but a person popped up in her mind. Should she talk to this person?
The thought came and went quickly.
Catherine soon dismissed it, and drowsiness overtook her, and she fell into a slumber.
Luke and Selina went to work.
Neither of them was sleepy after an all-nighter.
Both Luke and Selina didn't need much sleep at the moment, and were full of energy.
When they reached a street corner, Luke saw a car waiting at a red light diagonally across from them. Noticing an old acquaintance, he couldn't help but say with a smile, "You're pretty free on SAT today. Harrison, as a captain, can even stroll the streets."
Selina raised her head and looked at him. "All the police officers in Los Angeles have been told not to send anyone to the DA anymore. What else does he want?"
