As he spoke, Luke quickly searched the bodies of the criminals, and found three M1911 magazines and two UMP magazines.
He also took off one of the criminals' holsters and tactical vests and put them on himself before he loaded all the ammunition.
It took him no more than a minute to finish all this.
Everybody was silent as they stared at the police officer who seemed to be too familiar with body searches.
Luke nodded at everybody. "Evacuate as soon as the police helicopter arrives, and tell them to pick up the hostages as soon as possible. I'm going to bring the rest of the people to the roof. Do you understand? "
Everybody nodded.
Looking at everybody's faces, Luke suddenly smiled brilliantly. "Oh, I forgot to say. I wish everyone a safe Christmas Eve."
Everybody was lost for words. What kind of safe Christmas Eve is this?
Luke, however, had already entered the door and was taking the elevator to the 30th floor.
At that moment, the power to the entire building was suddenly cut off.
Luke was puzzled. This was central Los Angeles. How could there be a sudden power outage?
He was stuck between the 31st and 30th floors.
Lost for words, Luke jumped up and smashed open the elevator's skylight. Grabbing the edge of the elevator, he climbed to the top.
Nimbly opening the elevator door on the 31st floor, Luke quickly crawled out.
Unfortunately, his plan to distract the enemy with the elevator didn't work.
The elevator was some distance away from the lobby, and it was unlikely that they would accidentally hurt the hostages if they fought in that range.
As for taking the stairs … Well, that didn't sound like a bad idea.
At that moment, the emergency lights were already on, but they were clearly much dimmer than the bright lights from before.
Detective John mocked him again in his earpiece. "Hoho, Hans, your subordinates aren't doing well. Two more are dead. You need to hurry up."
A moment later, Hans's cold voice rang out over the comms. "Oh, is that so? You're only so arrogant because I can't guess your identity? Hehe, Detective John McClane, this isn't New York. "
Luke was shocked. How did Hans know John's identity? John had clearly just arrived for the holiday tonight.
John fell silent, obviously at a loss for what to do.
"Hmm, let me guess. You're acting like a rabid dog, biting me and refusing to let go. It's because … there's someone you care about here, right?" Hans's voice rang out in an unhurried tone, as graceful as a stage actor reciting his lines.
Luke frowned. John was silent.
Don't let Hans find John's wife, Gennero! Then John would be in big trouble.
Muttering to himself, he walked to the safety door on the thirtieth floor. Taking a deep breath, he confirmed that there were no criminals lurking around the door before he quickly crawled in.
It was much darker inside.
Only a few emergency lights were on, making everyone present look like ghosts. Coupled with everyone's panicked and uneasy expressions, it really looked like the scene of a horror movie.
Hans' voice rang out from the earpiece. "Hehe, I'm sorry. Detective John, come on, Ms. Holly Gennero, say hello to Detective John. "
Detective John was screwed! Luke sighed inwardly and quietly hid in the darkness. With the help of Sharp Nose, he began to lock onto the criminals in the crowd.
Fine, the criminals weren't actually in the crowd, but had spread out to surround them.
But there were only seven of them?
Including the three who had sent the hostages up, there were only ten people left here? What was going on?
Luke frowned, but then relaxed. Seven people? He could try his best.
Once he rescued the hostages, he would have nothing to worry about, and he would be able to clean up the criminals from top to bottom.
Observing the positions of the seven criminals carefully, Luke's eyes flashed, and he threw out a steel ball.
Bang!
One of the emergency lights suddenly broke, which gave the people nearby a fright.
Not far away, one of the criminals cursed, "Damn it. It's even darker now."
The others weren't too bothered. According to the plan, they would retreat very soon. So be it.
Hardly had the man said that when he felt a pain in the back of his head, and he passed out.
Five seconds later, Luke knocked out the second robber near the emergency light.
Five to go!
Luke quickly weighed the pros and cons, but in the end, he rejected the idea of opening fire.
He had to make sure that none of the hostages were injured, so he couldn't give them a chance to open fire.
While he was a good shooter, he needed time to adjust in this environment.
Also, his left hand was clearly less agile and accurate after it was injured last time, and hadn't recovered yet.
Five targets were too many. He wasn't confident in his chances.
He could only try harder! Crouching on the ground, Luke quickly snuck up on the nearest criminal.
When he reached the man, before he could do anything, he heard the man in front of him exclaim, "Where's Bill? Where's George? "
Without any hesitation, Luke punched the back of the man's head and pulled out two pistols from under the armpits of the criminal in front of him. Bang!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bang! Bang!
Bang! Bang! Four criminals collapsed.
Everybody screamed. Luke fired at the sky and walked out of the darkness, kicking the head of the robber next to him in passing.
“LAPD! Everybody, listen to me. Take the stairs to the rooftop. A helicopter will pick you up. Women first, then men, then old. Help each other, and don't talk or shout to avoid attracting the attention of the criminals. Got it? Move! " As he spoke, he walked around the hall and picked up all the guns of the robbers.
Everybody was stunned for a moment. Luke frowned. "What are you waiting for? I won't be able to protect so many people if the criminals come up later. "
Hearing that, everybody finally started to move.
Thankfully, Luke was very intimidating with seven or eight guns, and nobody dared disobey him. They obediently did as he said. After all, there were no children here.
Very soon, they reached the rooftop, and the first helicopter landed.
Seeing Luke appear behind them, fully armed, one of the idiots on the helicopter opened fire.
Luke had been paying attention to the helicopter. When he saw the man's movements, his heart instantly palpitated. Without hesitation, he leaned back into the stairwell, and the wall above his head was blown to bits by the bullets that swept at him.
Luke: F * ck you! Where the f * ck did this idiot come from?
Everybody exclaimed. Luke was too angry to say anything to the idiot on the helicopter. He tossed the guns on the stairwell and slipped back to the elevator.
He opened another elevator and took a look. This elevator went straight to the ground floor.
A piece of clothing appeared in his hand, and he wrapped it around a steel cable before he slid down.
