Huo Yao nodded. She glanced at his luggage. "Are you done packing?"
Zhuo Yun nodded. "Almost. The flight is at 6 pm." He paused before he pointed at the living room. "Yu is still upstairs. Take a seat. I'll get you a glass of water."
Huo Yao sat down on the couch. There was a laptop on the coffee table. It was turned on, and there were a few video windows on the screen.
They must be from some surveillance cameras.
She only glanced at him once before withdrawing her gaze. She lowered her eyes and did not look again.
Less than a minute later, Zhuo Yun came over with a glass of warm water. He glanced at the laptop on the coffee table. After he put down the glass of water, he turned the laptop so that the screen was no longer facing Huo Yao.
Yang Yi took his luggage out of his room and saw Huo Yao sitting on the couch when he walked over.
He nodded politely at her, then adjusted the communicator on his ear. He lowered his voice and said something before sitting down on the other end of the sofa. He picked up the laptop on the coffee table and placed it on his knee.
"He has always been a man of few words. Miss Huo, you don't have to bother with him," said Zhuo Yun.
"Uh huh." Huo Yao did not take it to heart. She picked up the glass of water and took a sip.
Did Yang Yi just mention paintings?
Her father seemed to have gone to the antique art exhibition that Min Yu had mentioned earlier. She heard that the art exhibition had already gone through its first round. The radio station was going to record the collection, and her father was chosen as one of the lucky spectators. Hence, he had gone to the art exhibition early in the morning.
Min Yu came downstairs. His features were exquisite and he was dressed in a black coat, which made him look extremely cold. He was holding a thick envelope in his hand.
He walked over and sat down next to Huo Yao. Then he handed the envelope to her. "Old Master gave it to you."
Huo Yao did not take the envelope immediately. Instead, she tilted her head and looked at Min Yu with raised brow. "Is this a red packet?"
"Take a look and you'll know," said Min Yu in a clear voice.
Huo Yao rubbed her knees. Poor Huo Yao could not resist the temptation. She reached out to take the envelope. It was thick and heavy. She opened the envelope and her eyes instantly sparkled. "Old Master, you're too kind."
Min Yu did not miss the expression on her face. He cleared his throat and said, "It's a red packet for the Lunar New Year."
Huo Yao took out a small box from her sleeve and said, "Take this incense with you and give it to the old man as a New Year gift."
Min Yu raised his brow and took it. "Didn't I?"
Huo Yao glanced at him.
Don't you need to spend money on New Year's gifts?
She put the envelope in her pocket.
"When will you come online after the new year?" asked Huo Yao.
Min Yu thought for a moment before he replied. "After the sixth."
Huo Yao nodded. She raised her hand to look at the time. It was getting late, so she stood up and patted him on the shoulder. "Have a safe trip. Happy New Year in advance."
"You too." Min Yu stood up as well.
"I won't disturb you any longer. Bye," said Huo Yao cheerfully as she placed her hands in her pockets.
As soon as she received the message, Min Yu asked her to come downstairs. He said he had something for her, so she decided to come over.
"I'll walk you out," said Min Yu.
Huo Yao wanted to decline, but she glanced at him and did not reject his offer. Instead, she headed out.
They had just taken a few steps when Yang Yi, who was busy with his laptop and did not pay much attention to Huo Yao and Min Yu's conversation, suddenly said in a loud voice, "Someone is destroying the security cameras in the exhibition hall."
