The old lady nodded repeatedly like a student being reprimanded by a teacher. "Yes. I listened to you and took my medicine on time. I didn't miss a single one."

Huo Yao withdrew her hand. "Do you still have the incense I gave you?"

"Yes... I light it every night," said the old lady hesitantly.

Huo Yao looked at her ambiguously. "If you light it every night, you won't suffer from insomnia and palpitations."

The old lady immediately lowered her head guiltily. After a while, she said, "I forgot to take it when I moved."

A dark look flashed across Huo Yao's eyes, but her voice remained light. "Am I right?"

The old lady's heart thumped every time she saw her granddaughter like this. However, she still replied boldly. "It's true. I didn't lie to you."

Huo Yao smiled. She did not expose the old lady, who was obviously hiding something. She stood up and walked behind the old lady. She placed her slender fingers on the old lady's head and said, "Relax. Let me massage you."

The old lady wanted to say no, but when she saw Huo Yao's calm and indifferent face, she instinctively shut her mouth.

She did not know when she started to be afraid of her granddaughter's serious demeanor. She always felt that nothing could be hidden from her.

She was clearly the elder, but she had the misconception that she was the junior.

Half an hour later, Huo Yao withdrew her hand and asked gently. "How do you feel?"

The old lady opened her eyes and replied a little embarrassedly. "It feels great. You made me fall asleep." Her eyes landed on Huo Yao's hands. "You must be tired after massaging me for so long."

Huo Yao picked up the cup on the coffee table and took a sip of water. "Not really. I'll bring you some incense later."

"Uh huh." The old lady smiled and nodded.

The incense was not important. What mattered was that her granddaughter said she wanted to do it again.

The old lady felt much more energetic. She stood up and walked to the kitchen as she spoke.

"Grandma bought your favorite pork ribs and little yellow fish today. These things need to be cooked slowly. You can rest in the living room. You can eat it later …"

Huo Yao raised her head and looked at the nagging old lady. Her eyes drifted away. It was as though they had returned to the time when they were still in the small county.

Since Huo Yao had nothing to do, she walked around the house before heading to the kitchen. She leaned against the door frame lazily and watched the old lady cook.

Before long, the doorbell rang.

The old lady was still busy with the pot, so she asked Huo Yao to open the door and said that she might be here to deliver water.

However, Huo Yao was not surprised to see the person standing outside when she opened the door.

"Why are you here?"

The people outside the door were none other than He Xiaoman and Lu Xia. Behind them was a butler of the Lu Family who was carrying several boxes of tonics.

He Xiaoman's face darkened the moment she saw Huo Yao.

Huo Yao merely glanced at her indifferently without saying a word. She turned around and walked into the house without even bothering to reply to her.

"You have no manners at all!" He Xiaoman snorted.

Lu Xia did not expect to bump into Huo Yao here. She glanced at He Xiaoman, who looked upset, and said gently, "Mom, don't be angry. Let's go inside."

The old lady turned down the heat and walked out of the kitchen. "Yaoyao, are you here to deliver water?"
