"Huo Yao, the Dean asked me to tell you that the security guard has already retrieved your letter of acceptance. He had a stomach ache and didn't bring his phone with him. That's why he made such a big mistake this morning. He asked you not to take it to heart."

Chen Yu relayed the Dean's message to Huo Yao.

Huo Yao contemplated for a moment before she replied softly. "I got it, Ms. Chen."

Chen Yu could not help nagging her when she saw how obedient Huo Yao was. "You just transferred here, so there might be a lot of things you're not used to. Also, No.1 Middle School's teaching methods are different from the ones in the county town. You're in the third year of high school, and it's a crucial year for you. If there's anything you don't understand, you must ask me, okay?"

Huo Yao looked at Chen Yu, who was just short of saying 'I know your grades are bad, but I want to help you'. Huo Yao merely smiled and winked at her confidently. "Tutor, you should have more faith in me." Chen Yu's eyes lit up.

Chen Yu was stunned by her smile. After a while, she composed herself and wanted to say something, but she realized that Huo Yao had already walked away.

This student... was probably not as bad as Wei Mingzhe had made her out to be.

Huo Yao's phone rang in her pocket the moment she stepped out of the school gate. She took it out and saw an unfamiliar number.

At this moment, a few car horns came from not far away. She raised her head and saw a familiar black car.

Huo Yao raised her brow. She did not pick up the call and walked slowly to the car.

The car window wound down, and the face she had seen in the morning appeared. "Get in."

"Why? Are you treating me to dinner?" asked Huo Yao playfully. She did not ask him if he was waiting for her to say something like that.

Min Yu's lips curved into a faint smile, which softened the coldness on his handsome face. "Of course."

Huo Yao contemplated before she opened the back door and said, "Okay, but I have to go home after dinner. My family will be worried if I'm late."

Huo Yao sent Song Ning a text message after she got in the car.

"Why are you so honest now?" Min Yu started the engine slowly and looked at Huo Yao in disbelief. It was as though the girl next door who used to climb over the wall at night was a hallucination.

Huo Yao tilted her head and met Min Yu's eyes. She smiled ambiguously and asked him. "When have I ever been dishonest?"

Min Yu chuckled and shook his head. He felt that if he told her what he saw earlier, she might accuse him of spying on her, so he chose to remain silent.

Not long after, the car stopped in front of a private restaurant in the city. The decoration looked quite exquisite.

After entering the private room, Huo Yao placed her backpack on the chair and picked up the menu without hesitation. After she ordered a few of her favorites, she remembered that the host was sitting opposite her.

Min Yu casually ordered two more dishes and asked the waiter to leave. In an instant, only he and Huo Yao were left in the private room.

Huo Yao lowered her head and played with her phone as she asked casually. "How did you get my number?"

She remembered that she had never given him her contact details.

Min Yu slowly poured himself a cup of tea. The steam rose and dissipated in the air. "Your grandmother asked me to take care of you."
