The estate was beautifully decorated. Red lanterns were hung everywhere, and the atmosphere was very festive.

People started setting off firecrackers in the estate from 8: 00 am onwards. It was as though everyone was using the noisiest sound to welcome the new year.

Huo Yao walked unhurriedly in the estate with the dog. Under the streetlights, their shadows became very long. Suddenly, her phone rang in her pocket.

Huo Yao paused slightly. She switched the leash with her other hand and took out her phone. She looked at the caller ID and pressed the answer button.

"What are you doing?" The man's clear voice came through the phone. Even though the firecrackers were still going off, Huo Yao could still hear it clearly.

Huo Yao was in a daze. In an instant, the energetic husky broke free from her hand and ran off into the distance.

She composed herself and shook her head in amusement. She chased after the dog and said, "I'm taking care of my second brother's son."

Min Yu heard footsteps on the other end of the line and asked her. "Is he in the estate?"

"Uh huh," acknowledged Huo Yao softly. Huo Er ran very quickly and disappeared in the blink of an eye. Huo Yao called the dog's name a few times, but he did not answer. She could not help feeling a headache coming on.

"Having a dog is indeed troublesome," complained Huo Yao. She knew that no one would be taking a stroll in the estate at this hour, so she stood under the streetlights and waited for the silly dog to come back on its own.

It was rare for Min Yu to hear someone complain. A smile suddenly appeared on his handsome face. "If he thinks it's so troublesome to have a dog, what about his son?"

Huo Yao went speechless. "..."

After two seconds of silence, Huo Yao automatically ignored the random remark and changed the topic. "Didn't you watch the New Year's Gala?"

She could tell that it was very quiet on the other end of the line.

"No." The man's voice was very soft. He looked at the young woman standing under the streetlights. She was almost completely covered in a thick down jacket, and she looked like a little penguin waiting to be brought home.

Min Yu's eyes turned gentle, and the tiredness between his brows seemed to dissipate.

He walked over to Huo Yao slowly.

Huo Yao held her phone with her head lowered. Her eyes landed on the tips of her toes. She did not look behind her as she continued to speak. "... But you can watch the New Year's Gala this year. My fourth older brother is participating."

Then she heard Min Yu's voice. "Yeah, I know."

It didn't seem like it was in the phone, but it seemed like it was right behind him.

Huo Yao suddenly raised her head and turned around. She saw the man, who was as cold as the moon, walking towards her slowly. It was as though he was covered with stars.

She was slightly taken aback, her phone still held by her ear.

Min Yu walked closer and looked at the dazed young lady. He could not help reaching out and hugging her. "Why did you suddenly become so dazed?"

Huo Yao finally snapped out of her trance when she smelled the cold scent of wood. She put her phone back into her pocket. "Why... are you here?"

Min Yu did not let go of her. He pressed his cheek against Huo Yao's face and said in a magnetic voice, "I want to see you."

Huo Yao was caught off guard when she heard this. Her heart raced twice as fast as usual. She lowered her eyes and saw the two of them forming a long shadow under the light.

"When did you arrive?" asked Huo Yao softly as she wrapped her arms around the man's waist.

Min Yu's eyes deepened when he noticed her movement. He contemplated before he replied. "In the afternoon."
