Pettus became solemn, if not grave.
"Where did you learn the name?"
Seeing the change of Pettus' expression, all three of them knew that something might be wrong with the name.
Roland was about to admit it, but Cage spoke first. "I heard it when some mercenaries were bragging in a tavern in Winterwind. That's why I was curious."
Pettus stared at Cage and smiled. "That's impossible. Regular mercenaries are illiterate. They can't even write 'elf'. How could they know such a mysterious name as' Arcane Windrunner '? "
"So, you know it?" Cage looked at him.
Pettus nodded and put down the cup in his hand. He tapped the table softly, and the atmosphere grew heavier and heavier as he tapped the table.
Eventually, Pettus stopped. He looked at Cage and asked as casually as possible, "You haven't answered my question. Where did you learn the name?"
Roland slightly frowned and was about to speak again.
But Cage leaned back in his chair and said lazily, "As I said, I heard it from the mercenaries. What's wrong?"
Pettus glanced at Roland and Andonara and focused his eyes on Cage again. "We've been friends for years. You should be responsible for what you say. You can't just let anybody know the name. "
"As I said, I heard it from others. If I pissed you off in any way, you can just tell me. We're good friends, and we can share the burden."
Pettus stared into Cage's eyes for a long time.
Cage, on the other hand, stared back at him without backing down.
After a while, Pettus slightly lowered his eyes and smiled. "Okay, since you asked, I'll answer."
Then, he stood up and said, "Come with me. Your two juniors will come with you."
Andonara and Lauren both looked at Cage inquiringly.
Cage nodded.
Following Pettus, the three of them zigzagged in the castle. In the end, they passed a dark path, climbed up a circular staircase for a long time, and passed a black wooden door. Then, their eyes were filled with light.
In front of him was a field of bright red, light green, and tender green grass. Many two-meter-tall trees formed a large circle, and in the middle was a wooden house with many potted plants in front of it.
The faint sound of string music came from the wooden house.
Roland took a deep breath and felt very comfortable.
Then, he raised his head and looked into the distance. Behind the trees was a tall wall, and behind it was the sky.
The high altitude wind whistled past their heads, but it also matched the sound of the strings in the wooden house, creating a wonderful quiet and harmonious atmosphere.
Cage looked around and said with a smile, "This is the first time I've been to this place. It turns out to be a completely different world."
"Of course, Sejuani's place of rest has to be better." Pettus smiled. "You know that she doesn't like the noisy world of human beings."
As the two of them spoke, the string music in the wooden house stopped. Not long after, the door opened, and a beautiful female elf walked out of the wooden house.
She looked at Cage and said, "Long time no see."
"It has indeed been a long time." Cage heaved a sigh. "I've always wondered how you could stay in the human world for so long. So that's why."
Cage laughed as he pointed to the surroundings.
The female elf smiled gently and pointed at a few wooden blocks next to the wooden house, before she said, "Let's talk over there."
Everybody walked over. At this moment, Andonara approached Roland and said in a low voice, "Am I beautiful, or is she beautiful?"
"You, of course," Roland replied without hesitation.
Andonara, on the other hand, immediately smiled happily.
That was the truth.
The female elf was indeed beautiful, but not as beautiful as Andonara before, not to mention that Andonara's charm had been further improved after her family's bloodline was purified.
Besides, the elves were generally … slim, but Andonara's body was devilishly curvy.
All in all, Andonara was much more charming than the female elf.
They sat down on the wooden blocks.
Cage said to the female elf, "Sejuani, this is my niece, Andonara. You can call her Anna. This young man is her man."
Then, he introduced her to Andonara and Roland. "This is Sejuani. She was my companion when I was a mercenary. By the way, Pettus was my companion too."
Both Roland and Andonara were surprised. They didn't know that a mayor used to be a mercenary too.
Sejuani was wearing a bright green dress. There was confusion in her green eyes. "Pettus, this is the first time you've brought an outsider here. What happened?"
"They're asking what 'Arcane Windrunner' means."
Pettus looked rather solemn.
Sejuani's expression was originally very calm, as if she had seen through the affairs of the world. However, when she heard this word, her expression changed and became a little nervous.
"Where did you hear the term?"
Cage immediately replied, "I heard it from a mercenary."
Pettus immediately snorted. "You're still not telling the truth? Do you not consider us friends anymore?"
Sejuani also said, "That's impossible. Those who know the term are either related or dead."
As she spoke, Sejuani looked at Roland and said gently, "I can sense that you have the same elvish vibe as I do. You want to know what the term means, don't you?"
Cage wanted to say something, but he hesitated. In the end, he could only scratch his head and say nothing.
Pettus chuckled. He had been staring at Cage the whole time.
Cage didn't look back at him.
Seeing that Cage was scared, Roland said, "Yes, that's what I want to ask."
"It would've been weird if a purebred human being like Cage were to ask that question." Sejuani looked at Roland with approval. "But you have the elven bloodline. Then, I can basically understand why."
Roland sensed that the female elf before him had enormous natural magic power inside her, but her natural magic power was rather weird and different from the one that Roland simulated.
Of course, Roland wasn't sure if the natural magic power he simulated was correct.
After all, she was an elf with long ears, and her natural magic power should be sinusoidal, while he was just a counterfeit.
Roland said, "I only heard the term from a special existence. My intuition tells me that this Arcane Windrunner has a lot of stories. There's also another term, 'Destructive Druids'. "
Pettus was rather surprised.
Sejuani looked at Roland in surprise too. Then she said, "Since you know about Destructive Druids, it's true that you know about them."
"The so-called Arcane Windrunners are actually traitors of the elves," Sejuani said solemnly. Sejuani said solemnly, "Once the pure-blood elves discover Arcane Windrunners and Destructive Druids, they will attack them crazily. They will be so crazy that they will die together with their enemies. "
