Chapter 338

Words:1917Update:22/06/28 11:33:59

Report

Looking at the circle of light that gradually pierced through the curtain of rain, Roland felt that something was wrong.

The magic apprentices were alarmed and looked into the distance.

He dropped three magic spiders and waved his hand. Mud rose from the ground and formed a rock tent that covered the whole camp again.

He snapped his fingers, and three more clusters of light rose to the sky.

The magic apprentices immediately gathered below Roland's building.

Roland walked down and said, "I'll go out and take a look. You stay here and be careful."

The magic apprentices nodded.

Then, Roland said to Andonara, "I'll have to trouble you to protect them if anything happens."

Andonara smiled. "Don't worry."

After that, Roland left the rock tent.

Inside the rock tent, Vivian heaved a sigh. "It's so boring to let the chairman take care of everything."

The other five magic apprentices all had ugly expressions on their faces. They also had their own pride. They were always protected by others, and they always felt like children being protected. It was very uncomfortable.

However, they also knew that they were too weak to be of much help.

Roland, on the other hand, was not in a hurry to leave the rock tent. After all, the three magic spiders were scouting ahead of him, and he could walk there slowly and stealthily. After all, Human Cannonball was too eye-catching a flying skill.

The magic spiders were very fast and soon reached the scene of the incident.

From the picture that was sent back, Roland saw that a forest had been flattened, and there was a pit in the middle, as if something had smashed it. The dazzling light came from it.

Then, the magic spiders sent back pictures, and Roland saw a person sitting in the pit.

All the raindrops would be blown away by an invisible force five meters above the pit, so there was no trace of water in the pit even though it was very low.

As the magic spiders approached, the pictures they sent back became clearer and clearer.

Then, Roland gasped hard.

The 'person' sitting inside the crater had a pair of pure white wings and was wearing a white feathered battle skirt. In her left hand was a translucent cloud-shaped shield that had a strange green energy surrounding it. In her right hand was a longsword … the sword was also white, as if it was made out of clouds.

On the hilt of the longsword, there was a small pair of white feathered ornaments.

The woman was very beautiful. Roland had seen her before … When Falken died in Red Mountain Town, it was this angel who guided his soul to the Paradise of Life.

An angel who had fallen from the sky was injured!

There was a sword wound on her back, and white energy was pulsating on the wound, seemingly healing her. However, a green energy was interfering with the operation of the white energy.

"This is definitely an Epic Quest."

If he were alone, he would've gone up and asked if he could trigger any special plots.

But now … he had to be responsible for the people around him, including Andonara, the magic apprentices, and the coachmen who drove the carriages for them. Everybody's safety depended on him.

His decision determined the life and death of these people.

Anything that involved mythical creatures like gods and angels was definitely not a small matter.

Roland heaved a sigh and left a magic coordinate before he returned to the rock tent.

He simply removed the rock tent and said to everybody, "Let's go now. There's trouble."

Although everyone was puzzled, they did not raise any objections. Instead, they immediately took action.

Very soon, the convoy moved on.

Sitting next to Roland, Andonara looked at his worried and reluctant face and asked in a low voice, "What happened exactly? Or rather, what did you see? "

"An angel!"

"What? Did I run into a beauty in the wilderness?" Because angels were often used to describe a woman's beauty in this world, Andonara habitually thought that Roland was talking about angels. She was about to tease him, but then she realized something. "A real angel?"

Roland nodded.

Hiss!

Andonara had a toothache.

What was an angel?

They were the strongest warriors in the Paradise of Life. They were born as Demigods and represented the honor and power of the Life Goddess.

And now, an angel had descended from the Divine Kingdom. What was going on?

Andonara didn't dare to think too much.

The carriage fell silent again.

The convoy moved forward slowly in the rain. At dusk, the head coachman came to Roland and said, "Master Mage, we can't go any further, or the horses won't be able to take it anymore."

Roland frowned and cast Body Fortification and Light Healing on the horses. Then he said, "Feed the horses and let them rest for half an hour. Then, we'll keep going."

"But —" The head coachman was about to say something else.

Roland shook his head and interrupted him. "We're in danger. Listen to me if you don't want to lose your life."

Solemnly, the head coachman immediately said, "Got it, master."

He went over, spoke a few words to the other coachmen, fed the pack-horses, and set off again.

Because of the enhancement of Body Fortification and Light Healing, the horses could still walk, and they didn't slow down at all. Roland cast Body Fortification and Light Healing every four hours or so.

Then, he let the horses rest for half an hour.

After a night of walking and stopping, the convoy finally reached its destination in the early morning.

Encart City.

Roland didn't feel much more relaxed until he entered the city.

Everybody was exhausted. They checked into a hotel. The head coachman found Roland and said excitedly, "Master Mage, our horses are fine. They're just tired. They'll be good horses again if they rest for a couple of days. So … can we stay here for a couple of days?"

Encart City was a medium-sized city, and it should be more than eighty kilometers away from the angel. Even if there was a huge battle on the other side, this place shouldn't be affected much.

Roland thought for a moment and felt that it should be safe. So, he said, "Okay, we'll stay here for a few days."

He could also exchange his knowledge with the local Magic Tower.

The coachman thanked him profusely and left.

Roland looked to the west from the window of a room on the third floor of the hotel, where the angel was.

He felt that he should check it out.

He was just curious. Only the players could understand the pain of not accepting a quest when they knew it was coming.

After considering for a few minutes, he said to Andonara, who was making the bed, "I'm going to take a look at the angel. You stay here and protect Vivian and the others."

Stunned, Andonara immediately came to him and said, "I'm going too. I can protect you. "

"I'm a Golden Son. I can't die, but you're different," Roland explained. "The angel should be very strong, and so should her enemy. I can be reborn even if I die. You're strong, but you're just a human being."

Andonara bit her plump pink lower lip unwillingly.

Roland patted her head softly. Then, he left the city and teleported to the place where he left the coordinates with Long-Distance Teleportation.

The white light that pierced through the night was gone. Roland came to the pit again, only to find that nobody was there.

There were only the chirps of insects and birds.

The sounds came one after another, making the whole forest quiet and gloomy.

He was late!

But all of a sudden, Roland saw a faint glow at the bottom of the pit.

He walked over and jumped into the pit, only to find that it was a glittering white feather.
