Report

They were all amazed to see Andonara.

The oldest noble observed her for a while and bowed, before he said in amazement, "It's really you, Your Highness."

Andonara stared at the middle-aged noble and thought for a moment. Then, she said with a smile, "Long time no see, Count Chesamon."

After all, the man was the lord of a territory who came to the capital for a few days now and then to attend the banquets of the nobles. Naturally, Andonara had seen the middle-aged noble before.

Though she didn't have a deep impression of him, she could still remember his name.

Chesamon stared at Andonara who was holding Roland's arm. A moment later, he looked at Roland and asked in confusion, "Your Highness, forgive me for asking too much, but what's your relationship with the young man next to you?"

"My man!" said Andonara without any hesitation.

Except for Lauren and Yelia, everybody else exclaimed in shock. The answer was indeed too surprising for them.

Although the noble class was messy and everyone knew it, it was only in secret. Andonara, as the queen, appeared in public with another man's hand and looked so proud. It was really … enviable.

Chesamon frowned. "Your Highness, I'm not trying to be a busybody, but if you really want the good of this man, please behave yourself. Do you think the royal family will let you do whatever you want?"

Andonara said with a smile, "Thank you for your concern, but Roland openly took me away from the king. The king didn't say anything. "

Hiss!

Everybody gasped at the same time and looked at Roland jealously. Then, they retracted their gazes.

The fact that the man had openly taken the queen away from the king, and the king hadn't issued a warrant for his arrest, suggested a lot.

Either the young man was so powerful that even the royal family was wary of him.

Or, he was very capable.

Chesamon couldn't afford to piss off anyone that even the royal family couldn't afford to piss off.

Chesamon immediately withdrew his scrutinizing gaze and smiled at Roland. "Your Excellency, welcome to the Chesamon Family."

Roland nodded. "I'm here at Yelia's invitation. Thank you for your hospitality."

Seeing that Roland was quite polite, Chesamon was secretly relieved.

He knew that his attitude just now was not good, and it would be bad if he made the other party angry. Although Chesamon was not afraid of anything, it was not a pleasant thing to provoke a strong enemy for no reason.

Yelia stepped forward and said, "Count, I heard that something happened here."

"Yelia, it's good that you're here," Chesamon said gently.

They dispersed, and everybody smiled at Yelia. Only the young man that Roland saw last night snorted at Yelia.

Yelia did not care. He walked to the place where the crowd had gathered and found the body of a young girl lying there.

The corpse's clothes had been stripped off, and it looked very undignified.

Yelia was a little unhappy.

Chesamon said, "We didn't do it. The body was sent here like this."

Roland also walked over.

The two of them looked at the corpse and then at the girl's appearance. They were both silent.

Mages had high intelligence, so their memory was not bad either.

The two of them had seen this girl before. She was one of the girls they had rescued last night.

The body's skin was blue, which was not the color of a regular death.

Roland took a closer look and found that there were at least twenty bloody holes on the girl's neck.

There were at least ten bloody holes on each of her arms.

Chesamon said, "We checked just now. The blood in the girl's body is already dry."

"There's no need to think about it. It was done by vampires." Yelia stood up solemnly. "I didn't expect them to come so fast. And there seems to be a lot of them. "

Although Roland was infuriated, he seemed rather indifferent. He asked, "Didn't you say that you were prepared last night?"

"Yes, I did." Yelia nodded. "I've installed a magic item at the top of the Magic Tower that can detect dark creatures. I'll know when vampires enter the city. This girl must've left the city last night. I told them not to run out of the city for now. They didn't listen to me. "

"What if she didn't want to run out but was tricked into leaving?" asked Roland.

Yelia nodded. "That's possible."

Then, he turned around and looked at his father-in-law. "Count, was the girl found outside the city?"

"Yes."

"Then we should investigate who asked her to leave the city last night." Yelia stood up. "I'll leave it to you, Count."

"There's no need to be so polite. We're family. Besides, it's the Chesamons' responsibility to protect the residents of the city. "

Roland was rather surprised to hear that. The lord seemed to be a nice man.

Then, Yelia said to Roland, "Let's go out and look for her. Let's return to the Magic Tower and walk outside of the city with the item that can detect dark creatures. Maybe we'll find something."

"Okay." Roland nodded.

In the dark woods outside of Liguburg City, dense swarms of bats were hanging from the trees.

Not long after, a group of round, plump, and extremely cute bats flew in, and then turned into girls in the darkness.

Looking at the thousand bats hanging from the canopy, she cursed, "You idiots. You knew that our enemy was in the city, yet you tricked the girl out with Enchantment. It's fine that you tricked her out, but you sucked her blood and killed her. Are you out of your mind? Aren't you alerting the enemy? "

A bunch of bats flew down and turned into a young man. It was Edmund.

He said angrily, "She's the strongest scent that we can smell. She's our food in the first place, but she dared to run back. So what if we kill her? So what if we alert the enemy? We're going to make everybody in this city live in fear in the future. We'll suck the blood of a girl every day and make everybody in this city collapse in fear. "

"The Mage who's capable of modified Grand Fireball is still in this city. Do you want to be killed?"

"We might've been scared of him if we didn't know his background." Edmund smiled. "But it's much easier now that we know that he needs to accumulate power to cast a powerful spell. Ten seconds is enough for him to die multiple times. "

"He's a Golden Son. He can't die."

"Didn't Wenger say that the Golden Sons will be weakened after they die? The more they die, the more they'll be weakened until they're no different from ordinary people." Hatred flashed in Edmund's eyes. "As long as we kill him once, we can surround the Church of Life and kill him again and again. After he turns into an ordinary person, we'll bring him back to the clan and tie him up. He'll be food for the vampires forever. I'm sure that the blood of an undying man will taste delicious. "
