Chapter 433

After figuring out the truth behind the Vulcan believers' mutation, Edward and the others finally reached the last part of their quest.

"Are we still going to get involved in this?"

Jessica asked worriedly.

After confirming that the Bizarre Decay Maggots were originally believers of Ignis' Dorag, the nature of the matter had become a little strange.

Even if that wasn't Edward's original intention, the Players were still massacring the Vulcan believers under his command.

And after finding out the reason behind the Vulcan believers' mutation, the question of whether they should continue their crusade against the Maggots became a thorny one.

If they did, it would be equivalent to interfering with the fall of the Vulcan. It might not affect the Players too much, but it might cause trouble for the God of Games.

For someone as devout as Edward, this was something he wanted to avoid no matter what.

However, if he pretended not to see any of this and allowed the mindless Strange Rot Maggots that only knew how to kill and destroy to run amok, he would be going against his very nature as a player.

Edward was extremely distressed. At that moment, he suddenly realized that there was a new change to the mission on his mission panel …

On the other side of the volcanic region, since Edward's bounty for capturing the Maggots had not been revoked, some Players were still searching for Maggots that could be easily captured.

"This one's too ugly, this one's too fat, and this one's too striped … Hmm, I don't think there's anything good to capture."

Mi Sta was a Junglewalker, and it was clear that he wasn't a newbie Player from his class change. Instead, he had a certain level of strength, and while he wasn't a second-rate Player, he could barely be considered a core Player. If he had to pick a representative character amongst these Players, it would probably be Simba and his companions.

Naturally, there was still a large gap in strength between Mi Sta and Simba. However, Simba's class had the ability to capture creatures, and Mi Sta himself wasn't particularly fond of fighting and killing, so he went out of his way to learn Beast Taming skills. His level was also quite high.

The Deformed Antler Deer that were being used as transportation tools in the Unnamed Town were the result of his taming.

Players like him weren't keen on participating in events, and Mi Sta would only participate casually in each event, taking a guaranteed reward before returning to the Unnamed Town to do what he had to do.

But this time was different. Even though it wasn't an official (or in other words, acknowledged by the God of Games) event, but one organized by Edward, the champion of the Players, it wasn't about fighting and killing … Alright, while there was fighting and killing, the most important part was to tame monsters!

Mi Sta was no longer sleepy at the mention of taming.

Hence, he immediately brought along his beloved Domestication Set and traveled thousands of miles to the volcanic area. He planned to tame the Mutant Corrosive Maggots, which were obviously different from normal creatures and had a special value.

It could be said that from the beginning until now, the taming process had not been smooth. However, Mi Sida did not feel depressed and wanted to give up. Instead, he became more and more spirited. Only creatures that were so difficult to tame were worthy of being the opponent of a taming master like him!

Since Mi Sida had no intention of killing the Maggots, plus the fact that it was faster and more convenient to move alone and the Junglewalker's skill guaranteed that he could escape even if he couldn't win, Mi Sida gave up on teaming up and went after the Maggots that he could tame alone. And so, he somehow crossed half the volcanic zone and arrived on the other side of the volcanic zone.

"The air feels a lot cooler, and the Exotic Corrosive Maggots seem to be moving a little slower. Maybe the success rate of taming will be higher now!"

Mi Sta grinned weirdly as he held the red and white spherical taming item and approached one of the Maggots he had chosen. It was a size smaller than most Maggots and moved much slower than its peers.

But just as he pressed the button on the taming item and was about to throw the ball at his target, he felt a prickling sensation on his back!

"Wha —" Mi Sta turned around at once, but he was still a step too slow.

The air behind him that had been empty suddenly warped, and a figure dressed in black appeared. The figure had even used black cloth to cover his face, leaving only his eyes exposed.

The figure did not give Mi Sta time to react. With a wave of his hand, the poisoned dagger turned into a streak of purple light and flashed across Mi Sta's throat.

A large number that the figure could not see immediately appeared above Mi Sta's head, and the words' Weak Point Critical Hit 'appeared beside the number.

"Rest in peace."

The figure said clearly.

Mi Sta froze for a moment before clutching his neck and groaning. His eyes were wide open as he slowly fell to the ground as if he had died with a grievance.

The figure took one look at him and did not linger, heading deeper into the volcanic region.

Behind him, dozens of blurry figures appeared indistinctly, following the figure into the depths of the volcanic region.

None of them had the slightest intention of checking as they walked past Mi Sta's corpse, because they believed that their leader would never fail. Even if a throat slit could not kill the enemy instantly, the poison smeared on the dagger would kill the enemy completely!

It was only when everyone had left and there was no more movement around that Mi Sta leaped up from the ground.

"Hmph. Players' corpses disappear when they die. Didn't expect that, did you?" He gave the middle finger in the direction where the figure had left, before hurriedly taking out a can of cola and chugging it down.

The poison smeared on the dagger of the person who slit his throat was so potent that he kept losing HP. If not for the Jadeite Heart of the Junglewalker that could convert mana into HP, he would have died from the poison buff.

Even as he drank the cola to replenish his HP, he opened the forums and posted.

[Newbie Hunter Begging for a Thigh: Brothers, it's bad. There's a bunch of bad guys who came to the volcanic region [Screenshot]. That b * stard even backstabbed me once, but I fooled him [Screenshot]. I don't want to cause trouble, but that doesn't mean I'm afraid. Don't blame me if they backstab me. Either way, they're showing their HP [Screenshot]. I'm going for a round. Anyone up?]
