Elwyn and Harry held on tightly to Ron. It was like they were on a roller coaster going through an underground pipe. They kept rising, falling, turning, and rushing down a dark, sticky, and endless slide.

Because the pipe was too narrow, Elwyn had to stick close to the snake.

Even so, when he turned a corner, he was still in pain and seeing stars.

He had never known that Hogwarts' pipe was designed like this. It was like a complicated maze. They did not go all the way down to the secret room.

They went straight up in an obviously old pipe. Elwyn calculated the height and estimated that they had arrived at Ravenclaw Tower, which was the highest place in the school.

At the highest point of the pipe, the snake led them to a strange oval room. There were light blue curtains everywhere, and one side of the room was full of books. From the thick dust that had accumulated on them, it was obvious that no one had been here for a long time.

Ron, who was under Tom Liddell's control, had a surprised expression on his face. He had not known about this place before. This was another secret room hidden in the school.

"Damn it!" Tom Liddell hissed.

He wanted the snake to stop, but it was obvious that the rooster's crowing had frightened it. The snake did not listen to Tom Liddell's control. It panicked and ran away as fast as it could.

The room with the blue curtains disappeared in an instant. As they passed the central table, Elwyn reached out and grabbed something. It was a round object with a long chain on it. Love ↑ Go △ Little ↑ Talk → Net

He held the thing tightly in his hand. Before he had time to look down, the snake quickly led them down. A minute later, with a loud bang, the snake directly broke the pipe. They rushed out of Crying Myrtle's bathroom on the third floor.

It led them to the middle of the water faucet that was carved with a small snake. Ron's mouth made rapid hissing sounds.

Immediately, the faucet emitted a dazzling white light and began to spin rapidly.

The pool slowly disappeared from sight. Elwyn just had time to see a very thick water pipe before the snake monster crawled into it.

This pipe was much thicker than the previous ones. It seemed to be specially prepared for the snake monster. Elwyn could see many other pipes branching off in all directions, but none of them were as thick as this one.

The pipe twisted and turned seven or eight times, and the slope was very steep all the way down.

Elwyn knew that they had fallen to a very, very deep place under the school, even deeper than the underground classrooms. Just as he gradually got used to the fast gliding, they finally landed on the wet ground.

The pipe became horizontal. They emerged from the mouth of the pipe and fell heavily to the ground. A strong collision made Elwyn and Harry let go of their hands at the same time. The snake monster slid away with Ron and soon disappeared.

It was a dark stone tunnel, large enough for a person to stand in.

"Where is this?" Harry stood up, rubbing his butt.

"We were brought to a place several miles below the school."

Elwyn's voice echoed in the dark tunnel. "If I'm not wrong, this is probably the bottom of a lake."

He squinted his eyes and looked around at the dark, sticky walls.

Then, he remembered what he had caught at the top of the castle, in the room full of blue curtains.

"Fluorescent Twinkle!" His wand emitted a weak light.

With the weak light, Elwyn saw the round object in his hand. It looked like a pocket watch, but there was no scale on it, only a strange needle.

"What is this?" Harry also came over.

"I don't know. I accidentally caught it in the room where the snake monster passed by. It looks like a magic item." Elwyn hesitated to move the needle.

"Elwyn, we should wait until we get back to study this thing. Let's go, we have to hurry. He has taken Ron away. "Harry said anxiously.

"Yes, that's right!" Elwyn stuffed the strange object into his pocket. They really had to hurry. Tom Liddell was sucking Ron's life force. The longer it took, the more disadvantageous it would be for them.

Along the tunnel, the two of them walked forward quickly, their footsteps making loud noises on the damp ground.

It was too dark, and they could only see a small area in front of them.

The two men glowed faintly from their wands and cast their shadows on the wet walls, making them look like monsters.

"Harry, Tom Liddell is using Ron's broken wand. Like wandless magic, it requires extremely strong control. He won't be able to cast a powerful spell in a short period of time." Elwyn quickly instructed as they walked. "I will attract the snake monster's attention. You go find the diary."

"The diary?!" Harry was stunned.

"The diary with a black cover that we found at Christmas. That is the source of Tom Liddell's power." Elwyn said in a low voice. "Remember, once you find it, find a way to destroy it. Liddell doesn't know that we know this. This is our only chance."

"Got it!" Harry nodded. Suddenly, he grabbed Elwyn's shoulder. "Look, there's something over there, isn't it?"

Elwyn extended his wand. With the weak fluorescence, he saw the outline of a coiled monster lying on the other side of the tunnel, motionless.

"This is the skin of the snake monster. Maybe someone will want to collect this."

In front of the two, there was a huge snake skin. It was green and very bright. It was lying on the tunnel floor. It was empty inside, and it was a full twenty feet long. Obviously, it was shed by the snake monster.

They walked forward and carefully turned another corner. Finally, they found a solid wall in front of them. It was carved with two intertwining snakes. Their eyes were set with large, shining emeralds.

"Harry, talk to them in the snake language," Elwyn said in a low voice.

Harry walked closer. He felt his throat go dry.

He tried his best to make the two stone snakes real, but there was no need for that. Their eyes looked exactly like they were alive.

"Open!" Harry hissed in a low, dark voice.

The two snakes separated. The stone wall split down the middle and slowly slid to the sides.

Elwyn hurried inside. In front of them was a long, dimly lit room. Many stone pillars, engraved with intertwining snakes, towered to support the ceiling that melted into the darkness. They cast long, eerie shadows over the room, which was filled with a mysterious green mist.

"It's Slytherin's chamber!" whispered Elwyn.

There was a deathly silence in the chamber. The two of them, wands raised, moved slowly between the serpent-entwined pillars.

Every cautious step they took made hollow, resonant echoes in the ghostly walls.

When they walked parallel to the last pair of stone pillars, a statue as tall as the room itself appeared in front of them, sticking close to the dark wall behind it. Elwyn looked up and saw the huge face: a senile, monkey-like face, with a long, sparse beard that reached almost to the hem of a wizard's robe carved from stone. Two large, grey feet stood on the polished floor of the room.
