"… What is this place?"
This was an isolated island.
To be precise, it was an isolated island in the void.
It had a diameter of over 30 meters and was floating among a cluster of stars. There were also some similar small rocks around it.
On this isolated island in the void, a metal ….. brain bug was lying there.
This metal bug was exactly the same as Maya. It was created according to her body shape and appearance, so she was able to control this metal bug's movements.
Furthermore, not long ago, she found ….. the 'door' she was looking for. On the other side of the world, the door looked like a rock. After rolling through the door, she arrived at this place.
A rock in the void.
Maya looked behind her. Behind her, there was a rock protruding over 3 meters high. There was a hole in the rock. She had rolled out from there.
She almost lost her grip on the ground and rolled down the void. Now that she had grabbed hold of the rock, she had a lot of questions.
It was not strange for a door to lead to the void. In fact, Lin had told Maya before that these doors might not necessarily lead to another Star Bus.
So, Maya was confused about something else. So, she contacted ….. Lin.
"So you found this place."
A voice rang out from the metal bug's body. A ball of fur slowly flew out from the door and into the void …..
Lin's fur ball looked around and said to the metal bug, "There is indeed something wrong here."
Saying so, Lin's fur ball flew out of the isolated island and flew towards a floating rock nearby. She then extended her tentacles to examine the rock.
The rock's appearance was greyish black. It was very ordinary. There were many types of composition, just like a normal rock.
However, due to Lin's understanding of the Star Bus, she knew that this rock was not ordinary ….. This rock's composition was very similar to the rock composition inside the Star Bus.
There were a lot of similar rocks inside the Star Bus. These rocks had many characteristics, the main one being that they were very sturdy. Part of the Star Bus's organs grew by transforming these rocks.
Furthermore, these rocks were on the surface of other rollers ….. Lin had not seen them in the places she had explored so far. They had only appeared inside the Star Bus.
But now, Lin had seen them here. That meant …
The pompom stopped its inspection, retracted its fur, and flew towards another nearby rock. After inspecting this rock, Lin found that it was the same.
There were more stones nearby. Lin felt that their composition should be the same, similar to the stone inside the Star Bus. Even the 'island' they first entered was the same.
However, the island they entered was rather special. Its shape was rather … regular, unlike the other rocks that had random shapes.
Maya's metal-headed bug flew in from the isolated island and hovered in the void of space. Observing it, Lin told it: "Go back and explore the other gate first"
"I'd like to roll around here for a bit." That was how it replied to Lin … Lin didn't think it was a big deal.
And so, Lin continued to study the things here. Lin ordered the pompoms to fly further away. He continued to examine more stones.
There were a lot of floating rocks in this place, but they weren't very big. Most of them were less than a meter in size.
Occasionally, there would be some that were several meters in size, but compared to the size of the isolated island, there was still quite a gap.
If it was big enough, this place wouldn't be called an 'isolated island'. In short, this place was more like an area filled with meteorite fragments.
However, they all had the same composition as the stone inside the Void Bus, so why would so many of these stones appear here? It should be easy to guess the reason.
There should have been a Star Bus here, and these stones were all left behind by the Star Bus. But this Star Bus … where did it go?
From the looks of it. It seemed to have exploded.
All the rocks in the vicinity were centered around the isolated island, floating around it. If they were connected together, they would form a very large sphere.
It was as if the 'isolated island' had unleashed a shockwave. The surrounding stones were all pushed away, but … Lin couldn't tell what had happened just by inspecting the stones. There were no traces of explosions or shockwaves on the stones.
They appeared to have come out directly from the Star Bus, not from an explosion. But as far as Lin knew … the Star Bus would not expel the stones from its body.
Thus, the formation of this place was still a mystery … although there were a lot of stones, they were too small when compared to the entire Star Bus. Of course, it could also be assumed that this was the only thing left behind.
What is that?
While flying, Lin noticed that there was something special about a distant stone. Its surface was very flat, as though it had been cut by something.
Lin approached the stone. Next, the pompom used its fur to examine it. Lin found that it was different from the other stones. There were some … remnants of information.
There was some substance left on the surface of the stone. Lin believed that the substance was left behind by the thing that had cut it. Something had indeed cut the stone open.
"I found something here!"
As Lin was thinking about it, she suddenly received a message from the metal-headed bug. Lin turned to look at it and saw that it had stopped rolling.
It was now on top of a large stone. It seemed that it had discovered something and was continuously sending messages to Lin … Lin watched as she flew over. The pompom arrived beside the metal-headed bug.
This stone was relatively large, with a diameter of over five metres. It was a relatively rare large stone. Some white parts were exposed on the surface of the stone. It seemed that there was something inside the stone.
"Research value. High. Need to study it. I'll keep rolling." The metal-headed bug continued rolling to another stone. Lin continued to examine it.
After examining it, Lin found that there was something special inside the large stone. It was embedded inside the stone. And that thing was … the innards of the Star Bus.
A small part of the innards, which should have been a teleportation organ, had of course stopped moving.
But after seeing this, Lin believed that the Star Bus had not simply teleported away. It must have encountered some kind of problem.
This kind of problem caused it to break apart … at least a part of its innards was left here. Lin also had a new guess.
Could this be something left behind after the Star Bus died?
It was still unknown … what would happen to the Star Bus after it died … Generally speaking, it would become like a normal Tumbler. Although it would no longer teleport, its' corpse 'would continue to maintain the environment on its body.
However, the Star Bus that connected worlds would not be like this. It had a lot of strange behaviors. Perhaps something unpredictable would happen after it died.
Just like now …
It would be nice if the remnants here had more information. There were no other Tumblers or stars nearby. It felt very strange …
Lin Sanjiu decided to examine all the stones here first.
Then, Lin had the pompom examine them. The examination took a long time, about half a day.
After the examination, Lin found that all the stones here were indeed stones from the Star Bus. It seemed that even the old Star Bus's composition was similar to Lin's when it was young.
Occasionally, there would be some organ parts hidden in these stones, but they were all inoperable. But Lin had an idea. What would happen if she took these things back and connected them to Lin's Star Bus organs?
Lin felt that she might be able to 'resurrect' these organs.
Because they were not truly dead. They had only stopped functioning and were not truly dead. Although the organs would be inoperable due to being severed from the main body, they should be able to continue functioning after being connected.
Even if it was not the same Star Bus.
As soon as she had this idea, Lin decided to bring these organ remnants back.
Lin also studied the door, which was the isolated island they first came from. It was also a stone from the Star Bus's body, and the door itself was a one-way passage. In fact, there was no door that connected back to this place.
In other words, after coming from the connected world, there was no way back. But Lin could create a new door here that connected to the connected world.
At the same time, Lin also found that Maya's metal-headed bug was no longer here. To be precise, it had rolled out of the range of these stones and floated into the void.
The area covered by these stones was not large. It was only about one kilometer in diameter.
"Found something here!" Just as Lin was about to call it back, the metal-headed bug sent another message.
Could it find something outside the range of the stones? Lin had paid attention when she examined the stones before, but she didn't see anything special.
When Lin flew to where the metal-headed bug was, she found that it was lying on something. This thing looked like … a crystal.
Under the light of the stars, it shone brightly. Such a conspicuous thing … Lin had not noticed it before?
This meant that it had suddenly appeared here.
So, Lin examined the crystal's composition. This composition … was very similar to some of the crystals on the pompom.
But why would it appear here?
Clap!
Lin heard the pompom's simulated sound. Not far ahead, a stone appeared out of thin air. This stone was similar to the other stones here. What surprised Lin was the way it appeared.
It seemed to have been transported here … (~ ^ ~)
