Leng Nuan had promised Keke to make dumplings for her on Christmas, so after she finished her work, she knocked off early to fetch Keke from kindergarten before heading to the supermarket to buy some dumpling wrappers, minced meat, and chives.

While they were making the dumplings, Keke had been playing with the dumpling wrappers by the side. She made a puppy that didn't look like anything, and she even made a white rabbit. She passed the beautiful white rabbit to Leng Nuan and said in a cute voice, "This is for mommy."

After which, she picked up the dumpling wrapper that Keke insisted was a puppy and said, "This is for Daddy."

Amused by Keke's words, Leng Nuan continued wrapping the dumplings.

Soon, she was done wrapping the dumplings. Leng Nuan looked out the window and saw that the sky had already darkened.

Recalling that Lu Benlai loved dumplings as well, she turned to Keke, who was busy sorting out the row of plush toys. "Keke, give Daddy a call and invite him over for dumplings, alright?"

Upon hearing those words, Keke immediately tossed aside the long rabbit she was holding and ran over to Leng Nuan. After Leng Nuan made the call, she immediately stretched out her hands, grabbed the phone, and called out cheerfully, "Daddy."

"What's wrong? Keke? "

When Lu Benlai's voice sounded, Keke suddenly forgot what her mother wanted her to say, and she raised her head to look at Leng Nuan.

Leng Nuan didn't say a word. Instead, she pointed to the dumplings by the side to remind Keke.

Keke's eyes darted around in thought for a moment before she suddenly recalled something. She turned to Lu Benlai and called out "Daddy" once more, "I remember now. Mommy told me to invite you over for dumplings on her behalf …"

Leng Nuan: "…"

She wanted her to invite Lu Benlai over for dumplings in her name …

After saying those words, Keke raised her head to look at Leng Nuan. Noticing that there was something amiss with her mother's expression, she frowned and said, "Daddy, Mommy is a little unhappy. She might not want you to come over for dumplings again …"

Unable to bear listening to her daughter's words any longer, Leng Nuan snatched the phone away from her and said softly to Lu Benlai, "I cooked dumplings, and there's quite a lot of them. Do you want to come over and have some?"

Leng Nuan heard the sound of Lu Benlai typing on the keyboard.

Thinking that Lu Benlai was still busy with work, she added, "If you're busy, then …"

"There's no rush …" Before Leng Nuan could finish her words, Lu Benlai had already interjected, "… I'll be there in a moment."

"Alright, I'll cook the dumplings later too."

"Okay."

After hanging up the call, Leng Nuan glanced out of the window. Compared to the day, there were still no signs of snow.

Roughly twenty minutes later, Leng Nuan received a message from Lu Benlai informing her that he was almost at the entrance of the neighborhood. She immediately headed to the kitchen to cook the dumplings.

By the time the water boiled, Lu Benlai had already arrived. Leng Nuan turned around to look at the living room through the open kitchen door. Lu Benlai was already squatting in front of a row of plush toys, listening to Coco's lecture like a student.

Lu Benlai was dressed in a suit, and he was squatting on the floor. It was a stark contrast to the plush toys around him, but for some reason, it was a heartwarming sight.
