Qin Zhi 'ai was so scared that she stopped in her tracks. She was so flustered that she forgot to look around and had to hide in the bedroom again.
She closed the door and anxiously looked around the bedroom, trying to find a place to hide.
"Mr. Gu, slow down." Xiaowang's voice came from outside the closed door.
"It's okay." Hearing Gu Yusheng's calm voice, Qin Zhi 'ai, who had always been relatively calm, suddenly panicked. Unable to find a place to hide, she was like a headless fly. She lifted the quilt, grabbed the cushion on the sofa, and pulled out the small drawer of the dresser … Finally, she realized that there was no place for her to hide.
The footsteps outside the door were getting closer and closer.
"What should I do? What should I do? I'm going to die! I'm going to die! "Qin Zhi 'ai was so anxious that she began to mutter.
The footsteps stopped at the door, and there was a slight sound of the doorknob turning.
Qin Zhi 'ai had goosebumps all over her body. She rolled her eyes and looked around. Then, she threw herself on the carpet and crawled under the coffee table.
The bedroom door was pushed open, and Gu Yusheng and his driver, Xiaowang, walked in.
In less than ten seconds, Qin Zhi 'ai, who had her face on the floor, saw four feet walking toward her.
She was so nervous that she didn't even dare to breathe. She stared at the two pairs of shoes without blinking. When one of the shoes was about to kick between her eyebrows, the four feet finally stopped.
Qin Zhi 'ai secretly sighed in relief. Then, the trouser legs of the feet that were closest to her suddenly rose up, revealing delicate white ankles.
Qin Zhi 'ai immediately recognized that they were Gu Yusheng's feet. He had probably sat down.
"Mr. Gu, the housekeeper is not here today. Are you okay to be alone?" Xiaowang's respectful voice sounded in the quiet bedroom.
The only response he got was silence.
After a while, Xiaowang said, "Mr. Gu, I saw the news yesterday and learned that Miss Liang's filming is finished today. Maybe she has already returned to Beijing. Should I call Miss Liang to see if she's in Beijing and ask her to come back …"
Before Xiaowang could finish his sentence, Gu Yusheng, who had been silent since he entered the room, suddenly spoke. His deep, magnetic voice sounded a little irritated. "She finally got out of my sight. I can rest for a while. Why did you call her back?"
Little Wang was scolded until she was speechless.
Hiding under the coffee table, Qin Zhi 'ai pursed her lips. Even though she knew that no one could see her loneliness, she still lowered her eyes to hide the sadness in them.
The room was silent for a while. Gu Yusheng didn't know if Xiaowang had made a gesture to drive him away. Xiaowang said again, "Mr. Gu, I'll leave now. You can call me anytime if you need anything."
Gu Yusheng remained silent. After a few seconds, Qin Zhi 'ai saw one of the shoes turn around and walk away.
Accompanied by the sound of the bedroom door being closed, the whole room fell into a silence that had never existed before.
