Song Qingchun had not met Su Zhinian's mother that often, especially after what had happened years ago. She had lost contact with Su Zhinian, so she had not seen his mother that often.
In Song Qingchun's memory, Su Zhinian's mother was beautiful, kind, and kind, completely different from Su Zhinian's cold and distant personality.
Song Qingchun was not sure whether Su Zhinian's mother still remembered her or not, and she knew her sudden visit might be rude. However, for the sake of Song Empire, for the sake of her sick father, and for the sake of her deceased brother, Song Qingchun bought some presents and went to Su Zhinian's mother's bungalow in the countryside one Saturday afternoon.
The bungalow was located in the northern part of Beijing, and it was next to the dam. The environment was elegant and peaceful.
Song Qingchun easily found the bungalow with the address that she had gotten from the police.
The bungalow's front door was open, and there was no one guarding it. The yard was clean and tidy. Song Qingchun walked to the front door and pressed the doorbell. Half a minute later, the sound of approaching footsteps came from inside. Then the door was pushed open, and a beautiful face that looked similar to Su Zhinian's appeared.
Even after so many years, Song Qingchun recognized the woman as Su Zhinian's mother immediately. She greeted her politely, "Auntie Su, I'm Qingchun."
Su Zhinian's mother still remembered Song Qingchun, but when she heard her name, she did not wait for Song Qingchun to say whose daughter she was.
The warmth from Su Zhinian's mother made Song Qingchun's heart calm down. Su Zhinian's mother had once liked Song Qingchun, and Song Qingchun had also liked Su Zhinian's mother. The two of them only chatted for a while before they became very close.
At 5 pm, Su Zhinian's mother started to prepare dinner. She invited Song Qingchun to stay for dinner. Song Qingchun's main purpose was to see Su Zhinian, so of course, she would not reject. In fact, she even cooked two dishes.
After dinner, Song Qingchun went to the bathroom. As she pulled open the bathroom door, she heard the sound of the door being unlocked. Song Qingchun subconsciously looked toward the entrance and saw Su Zhinian in a black trench coat walk in.
Su Zhinian was removing his jacket when he saw Song Qingchun. He frowned and asked with obvious displeasure, "What are you doing here?"
Before Song Qingchun could say anything, Su Zhinian's mother, who had heard the commotion, walked out from the dining room. "Zhinian, you're home?"
Su Zhinian's mother walked forward to accept the jacket that Su Zhinian had removed. She hung it on the hanger and added, "Qingchun, you still remember your Uncle Song's daughter, right? She came to visit me, and I asked her to stay for dinner."
When Su Zhinian heard what his mother had to say, he glanced at Song Qingchun indifferently.
Song Qingchun could hear the unwelcome tone in Su Zhinian's voice when he questioned her. When she met his cold gaze, Song Qingchun had a feeling Su Zhinian would kick her out the next second, and her heart skipped a beat.
To her surprise, Su Zhinian only stared at her for about five seconds before moving his gaze away. He nodded at his mother and mumbled a vague "hmm" to indicate that he understood.
Su Zhinian's mother smiled. "Okay, go wash your hands. It's time for dinner."
