Report

The girl was leaning against the table with her back facing the door, and her body was shaking uncontrollably.

Qin Yinan's heart squeezed, and his footsteps slowed to a stop. He stared at the crying Song Qingchun for a long time before he started to walk toward her.

When he got closer, Qin Yinan could hear Song Qingchun's voice was hoarse from crying.

He didn't disturb her. He just stopped by her side and stood there quietly, letting her cry.

Qin Yinan waited until Song Qingchun's crying quieted down before he reached out to grab her arm. He pulled her up from the table and turned her around to face him.

Song Qingchun sensed someone was touching her. She raised her wet lashes to look at Qin Yinan before lowering her eyes again, and tears started to fall again.

Qin Yinan pulled out several pieces of tissue from the box on the table silently and helped Song Qingchun wipe her tears.

Song Qingchun changed the paper towels again and again until the whole box of paper towels on the table was empty. Song Qingchun finally stopped crying.

Qin Yinan then asked softly, "Shall we go?"

Song Qingchun looked at Qin Yinan with her puffy eyes and nodded slightly.

Qin Yinan didn't say anything as he bent down to pick up Song Qingchun's bag and her phone from the table. Then, he reached out to put his arm around her shoulder and walked out of the cafe.

Along the way, Song Qingchun's eyes reddened several times. She had been crying for too long, and she kept burping.

Qin Yinan pulled open the passenger door and helped Song Qingchun into the car. He helped her with the seatbelt and went to the trunk to grab a bottle of mineral water. He twisted the cap open as he got into the car.

Qin Yinan passed the bottle to Song Qingchun and said, "Drink some water; you'll feel better."

"Thank you." Song Qingchun burped again.

Qin Yinan waited until Song Qingchun twisted the bottle back on before asking, "Are you going to be okay going home like this?"

Song Qingchun sniffled but didn't say anything as she turned to look at the rear-view mirror.

Her hair was a mess, and her eyes were swollen like walnuts. If Song Menghwa saw her in this state the next morning, he would be worried sick.

Even though Song Qingchun didn't say anything, Qin Yinan could tell she was conflicted, so he added, "How about we go to my place?"

Song Qingchun was silent for a long time before nodding.

Without another word, Qin Yinan started the car.

On the way home, when they passed a 24-hour supermarket, Qin Yinan stopped his car. He left Song Qingchun in the car and walked toward the supermarket alone.

When he came out again, there was a bag in his hand.

He opened the back door and threw it in. Then, he sat in the driver's seat and started the car again.

Qin Yinan lived in an apartment with only one bedroom. He led Song Qingchun into the house and went to the bathroom first. About twenty minutes later, he came out and handed the bag he had gotten from the supermarket to Song Qingchun. "Go take a hot shower."

When Song Qingchun exited the bathroom, Qin Yinan was no longer in the bedroom. The mattress that he had slept in earlier had been replaced with a new set.

Just as she was spacing out, the bedroom door was pushed open, and Qin Yinan walked in with a glass of milk.
