Song Qingchun could not help but sigh softly. Then, as she tried to figure out what to say when she got home, she slowly walked forward.
She was so preoccupied with her own thoughts that she did not notice a car speeding past her. The car slammed on the emergency brake and stopped beside her.
Su Zhinian got out of the car and slammed the door shut behind him. He strode toward Song Qingchun, reached out to grab her wrist without a word, and dragged her toward his car.
Song Qingchun gasped when she saw who it was. His name slipped out of her mouth. "Su Zhinian, what are you doing?"
Su Zhinian ignored her and pulled the door open expressionlessly. He threw her into the car with one arm and slammed the door shut.
Su Zhinian got into the car and stepped on the gas pedal without so much as a glance at Song Qingchun. The car slid out smoothly.
There was no conversation between the two of them, and the atmosphere in the car was heavy.
Song Qingchun was sitting next to Su Zhinian, so she could feel the chill that radiated from his body.
Earlier, he was so heartless to kick me out of his house, but now he's dragging me into his car … What is he trying to do?
Song Qingchun could not help but glance at Su Zhinian through the rear-view mirror.
The man's right hand was in his pocket, and his left hand was resting on the steering wheel. His handsome face was expressionless, and his lips were pressed into a thin line.
The car returned to Su Zhinian's bungalow.
After turning off the engine, Su Zhinian ignored Song Qingchun, got out of the car, and walked into his house.
Su Zhinian's door was not locked, so Song Qingchun had no idea what he was up to. She sat in the car for a few seconds before getting out and following him into the house.
Su Zhinian was sitting on the luxurious living room sofa, reading a stack of white papers in his hands.
Even though her footsteps were light, he seemed to be disturbed by her footsteps. He raised his head slightly and glanced at her coldly. Then, he pointed to the sofa at the side.
Song Qingchun understood that he meant for her to sit. She hesitated before walking over, but she did not.
Su Zhinian stared at the paper for about three minutes before grabbing a pen to sign it. Then, he slammed the contract on the coffee table before Song Qingchun.
Song Qingchun glanced at Su Zhinian before lowering her head to look at the papers. She realized they were the blank documents that she had given Su Zhinian to hire him as Song Empire's CEO.
At the bottom of the signature column, the name "Su Zhinian" was written in large letters.
He signed … does that mean he agreed to take over Song Empire?
Song Qingchun looked at Su Zhinian with disbelief, and her voice was shaking. "You … agree?"
Su Zhinian did not answer.
Song Qingchun reached out to grab the document, but before her fingers could touch it, Su Zhinian suddenly reached out to stop it.
Song Qingchun raised her head to look at Su Zhinian again, her eyes filled with confusion.
Su Zhinian did not rush to answer but pulled the document away and leaned lazily on the sofa. Looking at Song Qingchun's confused eyes, he asked slowly and softly, "As long as I take over Song Empire, you will agree to anything I ask of you?"
That was what she had told him earlier.
Song Qingchun paused before nodding. "Yes."
