Qin Yinan was standing outside the bathroom. When he saw her come out, he walked over immediately and asked anxiously, "Song Song, are you alright?"

Song Qingchun shook her head lightly. "I'm fine, Brother Yinan."

"Are you really fine?" Qin Yinan asked worriedly.

Song Qingchun forced a smile at Qin Yinan and tried to make her tone as light as she could. "I'm really fine, I was just in a bad mood earlier. I'm sorry, Brother Yinan."

"I'm glad you're fine, why are you apologizing to me?" Seeing her smile, Qin Yinan's expression relaxed completely. He reached out to rub her head out of habit like he did when she was young. It sounded like he was scolding her, but his tone was filled with affection. "Silly girl."

Qin Yinan's words caused Song Qingchun's heart to ache. She had the urge to tell him that the silly girl he was referring to was the one who had borrowed his books and shared his poems.

Just as the urge rose in her mind, his name came out of her mouth. "Brother Yinan."

"Hmm?" Qin Yinan's voice was gentle, and there was a warm smile on his face.

Song Qingchun opened her mouth, but she couldn't find the words to say.

She had seen how much Qin Yinan had liked Tang Nuan over the years. He liked her so much that she, who had always treated him as her dream, had given up on him.

Tang Nuan was to Qin Yinan what Qin Yinan was to her; they were the most beautiful things in his heart.

If it was her, she would rather be an idiot and hold on to that fake beauty than accept the cruelest truth.

Because it hurt … the kind of pain that came from her own world being turned upside down by someone else.

Ever since she was young, her biggest wish was for Qin Yinan to be happy. Even though she had given up on him and his happiness had nothing to do with her anymore, she could not bring herself to expose the truth and watch him crumble!

"Why are you stuttering? Just say what you want to say. Since when do you need to be so careful around me? "Qin Yinan waited for a while, and when he saw the girl staring at him blankly, he spoke again.

"It's nothing …" Song Qingchun shook her head at Qin Yinan, and her lips curved into a smile as she lied. "I was just reminded of how you used to rub my head like this when we were young."

Qin Yinan laughed and ruffled Song Qingchun's hair again. Then, he patted her lightly on the top of her head and whispered, "Silly girl."

Song Qingchun pretended to be angry and pouted. "I'm not stupid."

"That's not that smart." Qin Yinan chuckled. "Alright, I need to go to the bathroom. Wait for me outside."

Song Qingchun did not want to face Tang Nuan alone, so she did not return to the dining table but stood behind the screen not far from the bathroom.

Two pots of devil's ivy were placed on the screen. They were growing very well, and the luxuriant branches and leaves were almost touching the ground.

As Song Qingchun pinched one of the leaves in her hand, she heard the rhythmic sound of high heels coming from behind the screen.

"Are you thinking about the book and poem?" As Tang Nuan's familiar voice entered her ears, the sound of high heels stopped.

Song Qingchun lowered her eyes and pretended not to hear anything. Her fingertips slid lightly along the veins of the leaves.

"I wonder if Qin Yinan will break down if he finds out that he has been mistaken for someone else all these years?"
