"I didn't mean to ask for your name, okay?" Nian Xi was both amused and angry. "And why did you call me Ning? It sounds so intimate."

Jiang Yuning pressed his thin lips together and stayed silent.

Nian Xi waved her hand and said, "I have to work. Don't disturb me."

After saying that, she turned around and entered her office.

Jiang Yuning looked at her back for a while, then silently followed her.

Hearing his footsteps, Nian Xi turned around and bumped her nose against his chest. Her nose hurt, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Jiang Yuning looked down at her.

Her black eyes glistened with tears, and the water droplets moistened her eyelashes. It was like sunlight penetrating the surface of the sea, sparkling and glistening, dazzling everyone for a moment.

"Why are you still following me?" Nian Xi was furious. "I told you not to disturb me."

A hint of grievance flashed across Jiang Yuning's eyes. 'I didn't bother you. You bumped into me.'

"Would I have bumped into you if you didn't follow me?" Nian Xi said grumpily.

Jiang Yuning lowered his head and looked at the screen.

He looked as if he had been wronged.

Nian Xi rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache coming on. She wanted to harden her heart, but she couldn't help but soften. "You can't come to me every time you're lost, can you?"

Jiang Yuning silently nodded and glanced at her without saying a word.

Nian Xi had a headache. She had no choice but to sit back down at her desk and start recording while eating.

As he ate, he realized that there was always a pair of eyes looking at him.

She raised her head and saw Jiang Yuning sitting on the sofa in her office, staring at the pancake in her hand.

He probably noticed that she was looking at him. His eyes flickered and then he turned away stiffly.

"You didn't even have dinner, did you?" Nian Xi asked.

Jiang Yuning hesitated for a few seconds, then nodded.

"Turn right at the entrance of the police station. There's a pancake stand. I bought it there. Walk there," Nian Xi said as she pointed outside.

Jiang Yuning remained motionless.

"Don't tell me that you don't even have money with you." Nian Xi couldn't help but frown.

Jiang Yuning shook his head.

Nian Xi was about to break down.

"Okay, I can lend you some money to buy pancakes, but you have to pay me back ten times."

Jiang Yuning's eyes lit up and he nodded.

Nian Xi took out ten yuan and handed it to him.

Jiang Yuning walked out with the money.

Nian Xi watched him leave, then lowered her head to record her notes.

After recording the information, he looked up and realized that 15 minutes had passed.

Jiang Yuning wasn't back yet.

How long does it take to buy a pancake? Don't tell me I got lost again.

Her heart skipped a beat. She recalled what Nian Junting had said before. His assistant seemed to carry a gun. Maybe he was working for the government.

As a police officer, he had to protect them.

She quickly stood up and walked out of the police station.

Two minutes later, she saw Jiang Yuning walking over with a huge pancake in his hands. He was carrying another pancake in his hand.

His slender and handsome appearance was so beautiful that he didn't look like a stuffed jianbing at all. Instead, he looked like a walking piece of art.

"You …" Nian Xi waited for him to come closer. She saw the pancakes in his hands. There were eggs, ham, shredded potatoes, and lettuce.

She remembered that the ten yuan she gave was not enough to buy such a luxurious pancake.

Jiang Yuning's eyes glowed when he saw her. He handed one of them to her.

"You can buy that much with ten yuan?" Nian Xi was confused.

Jiang Yuning nodded.

Nian Xi couldn't believe it. "I just bought one. It only gave me an egg and charged me twelve yuan."
