Xu Jiamu furrowed his brows. He turned towards the direction of the Third People's Hospital and asked, "Hospital?"
Song Xiangsi turned her head to look out the window without saying a word.
The journey was smooth. In less than twenty minutes, they arrived at the Third People's Hospital. Song Xiangsi pushed the car door open and hurriedly said "Thank you". She got out of the car and hurriedly ran into the hospital.
Xu Jiamu stared at Song Xiangsi's silhouette. He hesitated for a second, but in the end, he parked the car by the side of the road and followed her in.
Song Xiangsi ran straight to the operating room on the third floor of the emergency building. There was a nurse in a light pink nurse's uniform sitting outside. When she saw Song Xiangsi, she immediately stood up. When she smelled the alcohol on Song Xiangsi, she furrowed her brows. "Miss Song, have you been drinking?"
Song Xiangsi gave a gentle nod, then glanced at the tightly shut doors of the operating room. "What exactly happened? When I came in this morning, my father was fine. He even said that he could be discharged in a few days. Why did he suddenly faint again? "
The nurse shook her head, then explained the whole story. "During dinner, Old Master Song was fine, and he was in a good mood. He even asked me to specially play a movie that Miss Song had acted in, but after the movie, when I was about to help him to bed, he suddenly fainted."
Song Xiangsi replied, "I'll wait here, you can go do your work."
"Then goodbye, Miss Song."
Song Xiangsi let out a soft "Mmh". After the nurse left, she slowly sat down on a chair by the side, holding onto the wall. She stared blankly at the words "Surgery in Progress" above the operating room.
Xu Jiamu clearly heard the conversation between Song Xiangsi and the nurse. He stood at the elevator door for a while, then strode over.
When Song Xiangsi heard his footsteps, she slightly tilted her head. She glanced at Xu Jiamu, then pursed her lips and turned her head back.
Xu Jiamu leaned against the wall opposite Song Xiangsi. He stared at her slightly pale side profile, hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Your father hasn't recovered yet?"
"Yes." The corridor was silent. After a long while, she turned her head to look at Xu Jiamu. "A few years ago, I had an operation. My body was still fine, but this year, it suddenly took a turn for the worse."
Xu Jiamu gave a gentle nod, but didn't reply. When his gaze fell on the ground, he suddenly caught sight of her ankle, and furrowed his brows. The next second, he strode over, crouched down in front of her, and grabbed her leg.
Song Xiangsi jumped in fright at his sudden action. She shrunk back and lowered her head. Before she could react, he had already removed her shoes. Then, she saw him furrow his brows. "Why is your ankle so swollen?"
Song Xiangsi lowered her head, not saying a word.
"Did you sprain it during filming in the afternoon?" Xu Jiamu asked as he thought about how Song Xiangsi had fallen down the stairs to the stage.
Song Xiangsi still didn't make a sound.
"It's swollen to this extent, why didn't you say anything? Did you want the director to stop filming?" Xu Jiamu's tone of voice carried a hint of annoyance.
Song Xiangsi continued to lower her head. After a while, she raised it, and gave Xu Jiamu a nonchalant smile. "What's there to say?"
