Just as she finished speaking, a news alert popped up on her phone. She picked it up and glanced at it. Her face turned pale.
Bai Su stood beside her and felt that something was wrong. "Grandma, what's wrong?"
The old lady's voice was trembling. "There was an explosion in Ah Heng's city."
She picked up her phone and called Mo Heng.
She waited for a long time but no one picked up. She trembled slightly.
Bai Su quickly held onto her.
Grandma took a deep breath and looked at Bai Su.
Bai Su said, "Grandma, it'll be fine. I'll help you back to your room."
The old lady nodded.
At her age, she panicked at the slightest sign of trouble.
Bai Su quickly helped the old lady back to her room.
The old lady sat on the sofa, still panting. She looked at Bai Su. "Susu, my body is weak. Get me a glass of water."
Bai Su replied, "Okay."
The old lady held onto her phone tightly. After a long time, she thought of Qin Man and quickly called her.
The call went through but no one picked up.
Why wasn't anyone picking up?
It was so frustrating!
The location of the explosion seemed to be very close to where the troops were stationed.
Bai Su brought over some water. "Grandma, drink some."
The old lady nodded and picked up the glass. She lost her balance and dropped it on the floor.
Bai Su quickly said, "Grandma, I'll get you another glass."
She brought a glass of water over and helped the old lady drink it.
The old lady drank a few mouthfuls of water and felt better. She looked at Bai Su. "Go back and pack up. I'm fine. I just need to rest for a while."
Bai Su was still worried. "I'll stay here and look after Grandma."
She took the bin and looked at the broken glass. She bent over to pick up the glass shards.
The old lady had no energy. She sat there and felt like she was going to collapse. She waited for the call.
She couldn't even move, not to mention pick up the broken glass and mop the floor.
She looked at Bai Su. "Susu, it's fine. Leave it there and wait for your grandfather to come back."
Bai Su replied, "It's fine. Grandma, I'll clean it up."
The old lady looked at Bai Su. What a good girl!
She felt that the Mo family was very fortunate to have found two lovely granddaughters-in-law.
Bai Su picked up the glass carefully and found a piece of paper to wipe the water off the floor.
She had just finished tidying up when she saw Old Master Mo and Mohan walking in.
Grandpa Lin had just received the news as well. He didn't look too good. He looked at Grandma Lin and asked, "Are you alright?"
The old lady shook her head and sat there, feeling weak all over.
Grandpa Sheng looked at Baisu and said, "Susu, it's fine now. You should go back and rest."
Baisu said, "Okay, Grandpa."
She stood up and looked at Mohan. The two of them left Old Madam and Old Master's room together.
After walking further away, she looked at Mohan. "What happened?"
Mohan replied, "Someone must be crazy."
Bai Su was speechless.
She glanced at Mohan and paused for a few seconds before asking, "Are you still unable to contact Mom and Dad?"
Mohan replied, "Let's wait for a while, it's getting chaotic over there."
Baisu nodded and held Mohan's hand.
Mohan held her hand tightly and felt her hand tremble. He turned his head sideways to look at her. "What's wrong?"
Baisu replied, "Nothing."
Mohan didn't make a sound. He held her wrist and squeezed her hand. "Open your hand."
Baisu said, "I got pricked when I was picking up the broken glass. It's fine."
Mohan said, "Open your hand and let me see."
Baisu curled her fingers and released them.
