Chapter 1258

PS: This is the first update of the day. The Elven Civil War is one of the most important content in ET. Out of the five books, one can say that one and two halves are all about the Elven Civil War. Therefore, this is something that must be written. I will try my best to compress the plot of the war and focus on portraying the characters and describing the results.

PS2: If you want to see the details of the war or the process, you can read the official novel and the translation by the big boss of Tieba. It is more detailed there.

In the High Elf Kingdom of Nagaris, the High Elf Moon Goddess Lilith and the Dark Elf Pale Queen Olica were each leading a small group of soldiers to the Barren Islands.

Nagaris used to be the second capital of the Elven Empire, but that was a long time ago. At that time, the first Phoenix King, Alarion, fell into some kind of sick bloodlust after pulling out the Sword of Cain. He happened to save a female Elven sorceress, Morasi, from a group of sinful believers. He was quickly attracted by Morasi's beauty and temptation. The first Phoenix King announced his marriage to her, and then moved his court from Lothern to Nagaris, which was located in the north of the Barren Islands.

Three years later, Alarion and Morasi gave birth to a son, Malecis.

After the battle of the Great Maelstrom, Malecis assassinated the second Phoenix King, Beo Chanel, and walked into the Asuran Sacred Fire and was burned. The civil war in the Elven Empire began. The war lasted for almost 25 years until Malecis was defeated. But before he was defeated, the Witch Queen Morasi and Malecis used magic to interfere with the Great Maelstrom, and many islands were split from the Kingdom of Nagaris. This was the predecessor of the Black Ark. The Dark Elves retreated to a distant and cold continent in the west. The Dark Elves named it "Nagaros" and the capital "Nagarond". In fact, they were all suffixes of Nagaris.

Although Malecis retreated, the huge shadow he left on the Kingdom of Nagaris did not disappear. The land gradually became barren due to the torture of magic, and even more so because of the endless war, it became fragmented.

In the 26th year of Kaldor the Conqueror, Malecis led the remaining troops and the Dark Elves to retreat from Nagaris.

But in the 119th year of Kaldor the Witch King's calendar, the army of the Witch King returned.

The civil war of the Elves lasted for more than 400 years.

In the 530th year of Kaldor the High Elves finally reclaimed the Kingdom of Nagaris.

The High Elves' calendar of Cain, the Dark Elves finally reclaimed the Barren Islands and the Sword of Cain.

Since then, Nagaris had always been the focus of the civil war between the High Elves and the Dark Elves. Whenever the war started, the place would be attacked. The land was very barren and dilapidated.

In the ruins, the Goddess of the Moon, Lilith, was wearing a moonlight velvet dress. Her feet were bare, and her cloak was covered with the light of the stars and the moon. Her long hair was as white as moonlight, hanging down from her front and back, almost touching the ground. The goddess walked in the ruins of a town. The long silk behind her brushed the ground, but it did not cause any dust. She first saw her own statue. She thought around it for a few minutes, then looked around until she found a statue of Asuryan. She then knelt in front of the statue and began to pray.

In the distance, Olica was wearing a white rose tied cheongsam dress from the Kingdom of the Dead. The dress was embroidered with ice flowers and white roses. The Dark Elf Goddess held the Pale Queen's Staff in one hand and the short sword at her waist in the other. It was a divine short sword that was recast from Laing's Vengeance and the Pale Flower — the Omen of Sorrow.

Of course, the slit of Olica's dress was very high. The Dark Elf Goddess' long legs wrapped in black starry aurora stockings were faintly discernible through the slit. A pair of black stockings stepped on a pair of high heels. Seeing Lilith praying piously to Asuryan, Olica sneered a few times and disappeared on the spot.

About 15 steps behind Lilith, two powerful figures were standing together. Behind each of them was an army waiting for orders.

One of them was the Wood Elf Hero, Aralos, who was directly summoned by Lilith. Behind him was his private guard, the Grey Cloak Squad. The Wood Elf Hero should be in charge of protecting Queen Aleil in the Asoloran Forest at this time. But to Aralos, Lilith's orders were absolute. He had no reason to refuse.

Moreover, Aralos had also made a breakthrough in the previous battle of Khuilwu. He was now about the level of a mid-Sanctuary-realm.

Although Aralos had only advanced by one level in 20 years, and Laing had soared all the way to the demigod realm, the Wood Elves couldn't count it that way. Aralos' speed was already legendary among the Wood Elves.

The other figure was a demigod powerhouse. He wore a gorgeous Shadow Crown on his head. His long moon-white hair hung down from his shoulders. Then, he wore a set of gorgeous and ancient Yserama Silver Armor and a Moon Bow in his hand. He was the legendary High Elf Shadow King, Aris Anar, an old monster who had lived for 6,000 years and the son of Kunos and Lilith. Behind him, the Shadow Crown Squad was waiting.

The Shadow Crown on his head could pause time. It was the symbol of Alarion when he was the King of Nagarris.

The Midnight Stone ring on his hand could allow him to escape into the shadows and mist at any time. This divine artifact was Aris' life's proudest work. The Shadow King of Nagaris once snuck into Nagaros and participated in the Dark Elves' wild and promiscuous sex party in Nagarond. Not only did he get intimate with the Witch Queen Morasi, it was said that they had some negative distance relationship. He even stole the Midnight Stone from Morasi. This divine artifact was a wedding gift from the first generation Phoenix King Alarion to Morasi.

Malecis had always regarded this matter as a great humiliation, and so did Morasi.

Of course, the great humiliation referred to the theft of the two divine artifacts that Alarion left for the mother and son, not whether Aris and Morasi had anything going on.

Malecis, as the son of the Witch Queen Morasi, had long been used to it. When the Witch King roamed the Chaos Wilderness, there were about a hundred great perverted demons who emphasized that they had sex with the Witch Queen Morasi. Every time the Witch Queen Morasi went deep into the Chaos Wilderness to negotiate with the barbarian chiefs, chaos champions, and chaos lords, her favorite trick was seduction.

As the Shadow King, the relationship between Aris and Lilith was quite subtle. The Moon Bow on his body was a gift from Lilith, and part of his power also came from Lilith. Although he was Lilith's Chosen One, the Shadow King was not Lilith's follower, nor did he listen to Lilith like Tegris. He also had his own ideas. At most, he could only be regarded as Lilith's ally and half a relative.

Aralos deliberately wanted to have a good relationship with Aris. After all, he was Lilith's Chosen One and ally. He walked to Aris and whispered, "What is Lilith doing?"

"Praying to Asoyan," Aris said coldly.

"Why?" Aralos asked.

"Reincarnation. Only the power of the Lord of Phoenix can break it," the Shadow King continued.

"Then why do you still need me?" Aralos thought to himself, Riddler Guna!

Aris Anar glanced at Aralos impatiently. He walked to a broken shrine of the Lord of the Phoenix and said, "You have potential."

The Lord of Phoenix was enshrined in the shrine. Aralos fixed his eyes on it, and soon the expression on his face became surprised. A bolt of lightning struck his mind.

In the shrine, the stone statue of Asoyan was not wearing a mask, and the face carved out was … exactly the same as Aralos'.

The wood elf hero suddenly understood something.

At this time, Lilith seemed to have finally finished praying. The Moon Goddess stood up, and her elegant body brushed past the rubble. Seeing Aralos and Aris waiting for her, the goddess showed a bright smile and said, "Are they here?"

"Prince Tyrion … and the Witch King's army are coming here," Aris said in a confused tone. "We need your guidance. Nagaris needs your guidance. Goddess Lilith, what should we do?" Aris, the Shadow King, was a little confused.

Aris could not help but feel depressed. For the past few months, the Shadow King had been completely confused about the situation.

When the Dark Elves invaded, Aris, whose whole family had died because of Malecis' betrayal, immediately began to mobilize his army to meet the enemy. He made full use of the flexibility of the shadow warriors to fight against the Dark Elves and won small victories.

But what happened next made him extremely confused.

He was backstabbed by the dragon princes of Kaldor, and Imrek led the army to attack him from behind, forcing the Shadow King to retreat.

At the same time, Malecis' messenger arrived and announced that the Witch King asked me to bring a message to you. The Dark Elves are the rightful rulers of the elves. If you surrender now, not only will the past be forgotten, but there will also be great benefits.

Of course, Aris killed all the messengers of Malecis and passed them to Nagaris. But Aris was confused. Why did the Witch King change his mind?

Tyrion's messenger also arrived, and the Prince Regent asked the Shadow King to pledge allegiance to him.

This made Shadow King even more confused. Everyone knew that ever since Aris was crowned as the King of Nagaris with the support of the remaining loyal elves of Nagaris, he was theoretically on equal footing with the Phoenix King. Or at most, he could be considered as the elder brother of the Phoenix King. Why would Tyrion, the Regent, dare to ask him to pledge his loyalty?

Aris became more cautious. He did not choose to join either side. Instead, he announced that the Kingdom of Nagaris would remain neutral in this war and closely monitor the situation.

After the Eagle Gate was destroyed, Tyrion immediately received the news. He was furious that Kaldor betrayed the Prince Regent and immediately planned to go to war himself.

But the Phoenix King's Court dragged Tyrion down at this crucial time. The High Elf Princes and nobles all agreed that Ossouin had already lost a Phoenix King. If they lost two successors in succession, it would be a fatal blow to the High Elf Palace. The Phoenix King's Court would not tolerate their Prince Regent risking war so soon after they lost their previous king.

It should be known that ever since Finnuba became the Phoenix King, he had almost never left the palace. Even so, he was still assassinated.

Tyrion could not fight against everyone. The Prince Regent could only appoint the Eternal Queen's chief maid, Ysijona, and the captain of the Phoenix King's Guards, Katjoin, to lead the army to fight against the Dark Elves. At the same time, they stayed in the Phoenix King's Court to wait for news.

Ysijona and Katjoin fought bravely, and the High Elf army's morale was high. However, it was impossible to defeat the Dark Elf army personally led by the Witch King. The two sides fought many battles, and both sides won and lost. However, the Dark Elves were approaching the Cain Sword Altar in the Barren Islands.

Under the critical situation, Tyrion finally convinced the Phoenix King's Court to personally lead the army from the back of Lothar and prepare to fight against the Malecis in the Barren Islands. The Prince Regent's army quickly defeated the small army left behind by the Dark Elves on the plains of the Elion Kingdom. Then, during the march, they encountered the High Elf army led by the Phoenix Guard Captain Katjoin, who was surrounded by the Dark Elves. On the opposite side, the Dark Elf hero Tularis, the Witch King's champion Marus-Blackblade, and the Dark Elf Sorceress Assembly's chief sorceress Drozala.

The battle for the Reaper's Seal officially began.

At the beginning of the battle, the High Elves were at an advantage. Tyrion's army was made up of the few remaining High Elves, and the Dark Elves were no match for the High Elves' vengeance.

The fierce battle lasted for a long time, but Tyrion did not completely defeat the Dark Elf army as he had hoped. Without the magical help of the proud Kaledor Dragon Prince and his brother Tegris, the only person he could trust was the White Lion Captain Keshir. However, Keshir was an excellent guard, but not an excellent general. As the Dark Elf army received enough blood and slaughter, Cain's Blessing descended on the battlefield.

Mastery of Slaughter! Bright red blood mist shrouded all the Dark Elf soldiers, giving them great power.

The High Elf army began to fall into a disadvantage, and Tyrion was forced to deal with Marus-Blackblade and Tularis, the two legendary Dark Elf heroes, at the same time.

In a one-versus-two battle, Tyrion was not at a disadvantage at all. The Prince Regent seized the opportunity to pierce Marus-Blackblade's heart, but at the same time, Tularis's poisonous sword pierced his back.

Tyrion's painful roar echoed throughout the battlefield. When the blade that carried Cain's Blessing penetrated his body, it also awakened something. An ancient roar roared out from Tyrion's body, crazier and more bloodthirsty than ever before. The handsome face of Cain appeared behind Tyrion, darker and hungrier than Tyrion knew. It swept through his soul, washing away the pain of his wounds and the fatigue of his limbs. He turned around and slashed Tularis, the Flaming Sword piercing through his armor, body, and spine.

Tyrion's roar attracted the attention of the Dark Elf Sorceress, Drosala. When she saw Tyrion's face, Drosala's eyes were filled with tears, her face was crimson red, and her heart was beating wildly!

Tyrion and Alario's identical face made the Dark Elf Sorceress quickly fall in love and recall her happiest moments. That's right, Drosala was the Witch Queen, Morasi. She had changed into a new identity and joined the Elven Civil War. When she saw Tyrion's handsome face that was identical to Alario's and Cain's Blessing, Morasi's legs were clamped tightly together, and her body went soft. She almost sat on the ground and could not get up.

I found you! My little husband!

She immediately changed her camp and joined Tyrion's side. At the same time, she began to chant an incantation.

In the center of the battlefield, the champion of the Witch King, Marus-Blackblade, had his heart pierced, but he did not die. Just as he was about to stab Tyrion, who had his back facing him and dealt a fatal blow to Tularis, the Great Demon Zachan in his body went out of control!

The Witch Queen's incantation broke the seal on Marus-Blackblade's body. Zachan devoured Marus-Blackblade's soul, and it was finally free.

Zachan breathed in the mortal world's air and molded Marus-Blackblade's body into a shape that it liked. However, its joy didn't last long. When Tyrion turned around after killing Tularis, all the Elves present, including King of Shadows Aris who was watching the battlefield from afar, felt as though they had seen the descent of a God.

In the middle of a never-ending river of blood, under the protection of dark red flames, Tyrion slowly turned around. He held the Yang Yan Sword in one hand and Marus-Blackblade's sword, the Cain Dimensional Sword in the other. In the purplish red light, Tyrion's head spurted out a blood red fog, and a halo of dark flames enveloped him.

Even the sky was dyed bright red. It was the color of fresh blood.

Tyrion's thunderous voice exploded in the battlefield.

"My compatriots of Ossouin, my name is Tyrion. I am the successor of Alario, the destined Lord of Ossouin. The will of Cain has descended, and the end of all things has arrived. Nothing can stop it, nothing can go against it. I am Cain!"

Large amounts of blood dripped down from Tyrion's hand.

Today, everyone witnessed the descent of the God of Blood Hand into the mortal world.

This also meant that the cycle of the Battle of Heaven that Lilith constantly mentioned was about to begin again.

Everything was predestined.
