Chapter 58

Report

The crimson skull flag fluttered in the wind, and the pirate ship emerged from the darkness. The horizontal hull of the ship was like a dam blocking the flow of the river, lying across the surface of the sea.

Keng, Keng, Keng …

The muzzles opened, and cannons with narrow gaps poked out. Just one side alone had as many as 40 cold cannons. It was as if a ferocious beast had suddenly bared its sharp teeth, revealing a murderous intent that could devour a person.

"The Red Skull Pirates!" Lombardi's laughter suddenly stiffened. He reached out to hold the oar and said, "How can there be pirates? What are the Marines doing? Shouldn't they be blocking this island?"

No one could answer this question.

"It's blocking the road. We can't get around it. Damn it." Cold sweat oozed out of Ka Ba's forehead. Because of his sudden nervousness, his voice was a bit distorted as he said, "Damn it, it has too many cannons. Sea Shark can't escape from under its nose. Just two shots, just two shots, and we will be dead."

Lombardi's face was gloomy as his mind turned quickly. Looking at the approaching Red Skull Pirate Ship, he swallowed some saliva in his mouth and said, "Everyone get off the ship and run up the mountain."

Ka Ba lowered his head and cursed. He helplessly let go of the oars and jumped down from the side of the ship. The sound of landing could be heard as all the sailors on the Sea Shark followed behind Lombardi. They made a big arc on the beach and ran up the mountain.

"Why are the Red Skull Pirates here?" Tunas froze for a moment, then squeezed out a sneer and said, "This group of pirates found the town on fire. Are they going to join in on the fun?"

Tunas wondered what price he would have to pay to satisfy the pirates, and then how to persuade them to help him put out the fire.

"Leader, look over there, it seems to be Lombardi."

Tunas's thoughts were interrupted. He turned around abruptly and saw a group of black shadows running for their lives on the beach. Who else could it be but Lombardi?

He was stunned for a moment, then immediately reacted and grinned. "Want to run? In your dreams."

At this moment, Tunas wished he could skin Lombardi alive. How could he allow this cunning man to slip away under his nose again? He coldly shouted to the guards beside him, "Chase after him! Don't let him go!"

"Yes!"

The group of guards replied with murderous intent.

Tunas can't leave yet. He needs to deal with the Red Skull Pirates first. He stroked his messy hair and stood on the edge of the ship, waiting for the slowly approaching Pirate Ship.

The distance between them was slowly shortening. Both sides had entered each other's shooting range. In the darkness, the silhouettes of each other were a little blurry. The flames on the side of the ship flickered in the sea breeze. As the distance closed, Tunas could vaguely see the pirate ship on the opposite side filled with people.

Near the end of the ship stood a row of gunners holding torches. Behind the gunners were pirates tied with red ribbons. All of them had a murderous look. In the middle of the pirates, a man with a skeleton tattoo on his upper body stood at the highest point. His face was full of muscles.

He seemed to be aware of Tunas's gaze and the moment they looked at each other, his mouth evoked a cruel and ferocious arc.

"No, Open!" Tunas's heart jumped fiercely and he roared.

The reaction of the surrounding gunners was obviously half a beat slower. In their impression, the Red Skull Pirates were on their side. One of the gunners turned his head and looked over, wondering if he had heard wrong.

Boom … Boom … Boom …

With the earth-shattering bombardment and dazzling sparks, the two merchant ships immediately tilted and sank. The sailors and corpses on the ship fell into the cold sea like dumplings. The thick masts smashed on the evil merchant ships next to them, and there was another burst of wailing and howling. Fresh blood and warm corpses immediately became the main colors on the ship. Everything in sight was a bloody hell.

After a round of bombardment, the pirate ship approached. Pieces of extended planks were placed on the bow of the ship. The pirates stepped on the planks and wobbled as they jumped over. Some of the more capable pirates hung a rope from the high mast and jumped down. Before they could land, their weapons viciously chopped into the sailors' heads.

There was no need for any more instructions. The sailors and guards of the Tiago Caravan and the ferocious pirates killed each other. Tunas's eyes were red. He grabbed a blade and turned over a pirate with a red ribbon. Blood spilled all over his body.

Novi bent over and put his two swords on the ground. The swords were connected into afterimages. Several guards were cut off at the same time and fell to the ground. He got up and his eyes flashed fiercely. Then he looked at Tunas. He stepped on the guard's chest and heard a bang. The guard's chest sank.

His body jumped high and the whole person was like a falling cannonball. Tunas looked up and stepped forward. The two swords collided with each other, making a grinding sound and splashing sparks.

Novi pressed the sword in his left hand down and the other long sword slashed smoothly against the blade to Tunas's palm. Tunas's face did not change. When he let go, a short dagger suddenly popped out of his sleeve. His wrist shrank and grabbed to avoid the blade. Then he stabbed Novi fiercely.

Novi's eyes were full of bloodthirsty fierceness. He ignored Tunas's dagger to his throat and smashed the sword in his left hand towards Tunas's face.

Tunas's pupils flashed coldly. After all, he did not intend to exchange his life for Novi's. His wrist shrank and his feet slid sideways. He immediately moved two steps to the left and stared coldly at Novi.

Novi glared back without showing any weakness, but he did not impulsively kill them again. Instead, he looked around with a grin. It was obvious that although the Tiago Caravan still had a little advantage in terms of numbers, with half of the guards dead and injured, the remaining sailors were not the opponents of the Red Skull Pirates in hand-to-hand combat. Some of the remaining guards were just barely holding on. It was only a matter of time before they were defeated.

"What are you doing?" Tunas took a deep breath and looked at the Captain of the Red Skull Pirates, Calci. "Haven't we always cooperated well?"

"We have always cooperated well, unfortunately …" Calci took out a piece of paper from his pocket and sighed. "I didn't want to go to the island so early, but who told you to sail away from the dock."

Calci's palm loosened. The paper was rolled up by the wind and blew to the ground. There was a line of words on the back of the paper. "Block the island. No ship or living person is allowed to leave the island."

"You see, the words are very clear." Calci helplessly spread out his palm. The words that came out of his mouth were cold to the bone. "Those who leave the beach can only be broken wreckage and … dead people!"
