Sarah Connor – My Soliloquy
Judgement Day in 1997 had passed, and nothing had happened. People were still laughing, complaining, shopping, and loving. I wanted to walk through the streets, grab hold of everyone, and tell them: From now on, every day is a gift from God. Please cherish every day! But the truth was, I was drunk. That was something that happened thirty years ago. But to me, the dark future that had yet to arrive still existed. Furthermore, it would always exist, like a long-lasting dream. Unlike the prophecy, John went into another war. He fought on the battlefields of the Senate and the House of Representatives. He used simple emotions and hope to move the Senate. That extravagant hope was given to me by the Terminator. If a machine can learn the value of human life, then so can we.
John, my dear son. Do you know that I have always loved you? You may think that I have gone too far, telling you about the Terminator and Judgement Day at such a young age, but I want you to understand that I am doing this for your own good. Now I see that you are becoming what a leader should be, and I am proud. I have always known that you will always be the best. Your gift is unparalleled, it guides the hope of both humans and machines.
I have always imagined what our lives would be like if there was no Judgement Day. You may laugh at me, but I have always had a dream:
I dreamed that I was old, sitting on the edge of the playground in New York's Central Park, watching my lovely granddaughter play happily, with you by her side. Do you know? My dear son, how I wish I could see that day. But I know that I will not. For a long time, the dark future that never came has haunted me. I have been afraid, angry, and complaining, but I have never given up hope. Because I know that my son will stand up and lead humanity to victory, to the light.
Remember, my son, you are a human, you must always believe that. Mom, I have to go, I cannot stay with you. You must not give up hope, you must believe that there is always hope, always light.
John, Mom will always watch over you from Heaven, watching you grow up, get married, and have children.
