Chapter 27

Words:1995Update:22/06/26 07:15:39

Report

In the spacious room, two silhouettes collided and pulled at each other, producing loud noises.

In front of him, a pale-white corpse that looked like a woman was sent flying once again, crashing heavily onto the ground.

Seeing his enemy fall to the ground, Adil did not take the opportunity to attack. Instead, he stood firmly on the spot, his expression extremely grim.

After a long battle, he was already drenched in sweat. His right hand that held the sword was trembling slightly, while his left hand held the scabbard tightly as well.

His expression was grim. Even though he saw the corpse in front of him being sent flying again and again, he did not dare to let his guard down.

Otherwise, in the next moment, the corpse of the woman in front of him crawled up again as if nothing had happened. The wounds all over her body squirmed continuously, pulling out bits of flesh to reconnect the horrifying wounds on her body.

Looking at this scene, Adil's face darkened.

The monster that the corpse had turned into was very strange. Not only was it very strong and fast, but it also seemed to have endless stamina. Even now, it was still very lively, almost no different from when it first started.

What was more terrifying was that it seemed to have an immortal body. No matter what kind of attack it suffered, it could heal quickly. It did not seem like a real life at all.

Be it in his previous life or the previous world, Adil had never heard of such a strange life form.

In front of him, the humanoid monster roared again and charged at Adil. The wounds on its body had already healed completely, leaving no trace.

Adil looked coldly at the monster in front of him. His right hand that was holding the sword slightly twisted, changing to a more energy-conserving position to stab forward.

The two figures once again tangled into a ball, fighting fiercely in this not-so-spacious room, leaving the surroundings in a mess.

As for the three locals who had been watching this scene from the beginning to the end, they were already dumbfounded.

The two non-human monsters were fighting each other head-on. Every heavy blow would cause a huge tremor in the room, leaving a one to two meter wide crater in the thick ground.

Adil was as heroic as a knight praised in poems. He fought against the humanoid monster in front of him. Every time he swung the longsword in his hand, there would be a whistling wind created by the sword, leaving thick marks in the surroundings.

In order to avoid getting caught up in the battle, the three of them had no choice but to retreat to a small corner of the room and watch the battle between the two non-humans from afar.

"What a powerful warrior! He can actually suppress the Souls of the Dead!"

Looking at the two figures that were tangled up in the distance, a hint of fanaticism flashed in the eyes of the young man among the three of them. "So it turns out that such terrifying warriors can also be born among us humans. Even in the face of terrifying mysteries, we can still face them head-on!"

"He must be a genius from a top-notch Knight family. I've seen similar descriptions in historical records. It's said that some powerful Knights can fight a hundred on the battlefield alone. In the past, I always thought that it was an exaggeration and a rumor. But now, it seems that it's definitely true!"

The woman's eyes flashed with excitement. She looked at Adil in the distance as if she was looking at a piece of treasure.

On the other side, looking at the battle before them, the middle-aged man in the lead felt excited, but at the same time, he also felt a little worried.

Among the three of them, he was the oldest and the most meticulous. Even though he was excited, he didn't forget to observe the battle ahead.

Through his observation, he could clearly sense that Adil's physical strength was becoming weaker and weaker, and as time passed, he was no longer as powerful.

No matter how powerful he was, in essence, he was still a human. Even though he was powerful enough to fight with the Souls of the Dead, he was still made of flesh and blood, and he would still feel thirsty, hungry, and tired.

As the battle continued to pass, no matter how powerful the Knights were, they would be exhausted to death, falling to the undying body of the other party.

Naturally, Adil understood this as well.

As the battle went on, his physical strength was quickly depleting. From the absolute advantage he had at the beginning, he was now only able to slightly suppress the other party.

A hint of viciousness appeared in his eyes as he looked at the Soul of the Dead opposite him and fiercely leaped.

A faint green light covered the sword, and the Life Seed in his body boiled. The life energy within the Life Seed quickly strengthened the longsword that was made of Black Rui Steel.

Looking at Adil's incoming figure, the Soul of the Dead suddenly raised its head, and a pair of eyes filled with negative emotions continuously intertwined with madness and brutality.

She didn't dodge or evade, and instead stretched out her hand and grabbed forward, looking like she wanted to grab Adil's longsword.

"Roar!!"

A sharp scream sounded out, as if it was a woman's cry of terror before her death. It pierced straight into the depths of one's soul.

A faint green light flashed, fiercely chopping off the corpse's outstretched arm.

The Soul of the Dead stood where she was in Silence, her expression sluggish and savage. Her body was as pale as a corpse.

The forearm of her right hand had been chopped off by the longsword, and black blood slowly flowed out of the wound.

In such a long battle, this was the first time that her wound had not healed.

"It's effective!"

Sensing the changes in the enemy, Adil thought to himself, and his depressed mood immediately relaxed.

He raised his sword high, taking advantage of the fact that the other party was frozen in place to quickly rush forward, the longsword in his right hand flashing with a brilliant light.

The Life Seed in his body quickly trembled, and all of Adil's life energy was drawn out for this attack.

A pale green sword light flashed, and in front of him, the corpse of the woman slowly fell down. A hideous head separated from the body and slowly rolled to the side.

Sensing all of this, Adil inwardly let out a sigh of relief.

At this point in the battle, even with his Knight's physique, he couldn't take it anymore. If the stalemate continued, he would have to activate the Life Seed.

However, the price of activating the Life Seed was too high, and unless it was absolutely necessary, Adil didn't want to take this step.

He turned around, wanting to examine the corpse on the ground, but he suddenly froze as he saw a shocking scene.

On the ground, a pale, headless corpse lay there in Silence, looking quite terrifying.

Under Adil's gaze, the corpse in front of him began to change.

A faint light slowly shone from the corpse, like some sort of flame, burning the corpse as if it wanted to burn it to ashes.

[Host's body is affected by an unknown power, and the quality of the body is increasing!] The A.I. Chip's robotic voice continuously resounded in his mind.

A warm current quickly flowed through his body, slowly fusing with it. The stamina that he had expended was also recovering under the influence of some unknown power, allowing him to regain some strength.

* Bang! Bang! Bang! *

The faint sound of a heartbeat kept ringing in Adil's ears. In his heart, a life seed seemed to be affected by something, growing a little imperceptibly.

After everything was over, Adil once again looked at the ground.

On the ground, the originally pale corpse had changed. The originally pale flesh seemed to have been burnt by the flames, and all that was left was the skeleton of a woman, lying on the ground in Silence, not moving at all.

Adil furrowed his brows at the scene.

He squatted down and carefully examined the skeleton on the ground.

There were no traces of being burnt by the flames, as if it had been through a long period of time and had naturally become like this. It seemed ancient and natural.

His hand stroked the skeleton in Silence, finally stopping below the chest.

There, he felt a very small protrusion.

It was a black crystal, about the size of a fingernail. It flickered with a faint light, looking very mysterious.

Holding this crystal, the A.I. Chip's familiar voice sounded in Adil's mind.
