Chapter 39

Report

After eating the breakfast prepared by Kelvin, we started to prepare for our journey.

Walking on the fertile ground, I felt that my feet were as soft as a blanket. It was a comfortable feeling, and it didn't feel like an adventure. It felt more like an outing, especially when there was a group of like-minded people accompanying us. Occasionally, a few squirrels ran through the trees. It was a wonderful feeling.

Suddenly, a girl's voice broke the peaceful atmosphere. Hearing the voice, everyone hurried to run in the direction of the voice.

When we arrived, we saw a little girl leaning against a tree. Opposite her, a wild boar was glaring at the little girl. The little girl was already trembling in fear, but she kept shouting for help.

Avina skillfully took out her bow and shot an arrow at the wild boar. The arrow hit the wild boar's head. However, the wild boar was tenacious. It shook a few times but didn't fall to the ground. Instead, it used its last bit of strength to rush toward the little girl.

Seeing that the wild boar was about to hit the little girl, a flying axe stabbed the wild boar's hairy body. Moreover, the force of the flying axe was so strong that the wild boar was pushed to the side. The wild boar almost hit the little girl.

"It seems that the flying axe is more effective," Flants said proudly.

Everyone hurried to check on the little girl. She seemed to be a little elf. She had pink hair, pointed ears, and a cute face.

"Thank you. My name is Jenny," the little girl said.

Seeing that it was a little elf, Meldas relaxed his vigilance.

"Why are you in this dark forest? It's very dangerous here," Meldas said.

"Dangerous? But I was born here. All the flowers and trees here are my friends. That big black boar was the worst. It always bullied me, "the little girl said.

"You're Jenny, right? It's very dangerous for you to be here alone. Come to sister. I'll take you home, "Natalia said.

"Okay, sister. My home is in a small wooden house not far from the forest," Jenny ran over happily.

At this time, Flants had already cut the wild boar into eight pieces and cleaned it up. About half an hour later, everything was done.

Jenny led Natalia and the others to her home. Jenny's home was a chic little wooden house. There were all kinds of beast furs hanging in the room, as well as some unknown bottles and jars, as well as all kinds of magic tools.

"Where's Mom? When I woke up this morning, my mother was gone. Where did she go? "Jenny cried anxiously.

"Looking at the room, there are no signs of fighting. She shouldn't have been taken by bad guys." Merdas analyzed.

"Can we wait for your mother here with you?" Natalia comforted.

"But we still have a mission, right?" I reminded.

"Do you really have the heart to leave this little girl here?" Natalia suddenly lost her temper. I knew I must have said something wrong.

In the end, Meldas also agreed to Natalia's proposal. He knew that defeating Delamere was not something that could be done overnight. Maybe there would be some clues if he stayed here.

In the evening, we made a bonfire outside the wooden house. At this time, the moon had quietly climbed up to the sky, sprinkling a faint moonlight. Flants roasted the processed wild boar over the fire. The wild boar was roasted until it was oily and fragrant. Flants cut the roasted wild boar into several portions. The better portions were sent to the girls in the wooden house. Kevin was chewing on the hot pork leg, and tears were almost coming out of his eyes. Meldas also cut a small piece of the roasted boar and ate it.

"Do all elves eat like you?" Flants didn't like Meldas. He felt that Meldas was like a sissy, and he always pretended to be noble.

Meldas didn't care. He wouldn't look at an opponent who was weaker than him.

That night, the girls all slept in Jenny's house. Flants, Kevin, Meldas, and I set up tents outside the wooden house to sleep. We also took turns to keep watch. Meldas couldn't sleep, so he was in charge of the first shift.

"Am I really qualified to be the captain?" Meldas looked at the sky and asked himself.

Suddenly, a black shadow flashed. Meldas was immediately alerted, and he woke up the others.

"Do we need to wake up the people in the house?" I asked.

"Not for now. Kevin, you stay here and watch. If there is any movement, immediately wake up the people in the house."

Meldas took me and Flants to track the shadow. The three of us held torches and weapons and ran into the forest.

For some reason, Merdas felt a sense of foreboding. We followed the traces left by the black shadow and found something lying motionless in front of us. Flants immediately rushed forward and saw a horrible scene.

Lying on the ground was the corpse of a little lamb. Its internal organs had been dug out and eaten. It was such a bloody scene. Fortunately, the girls didn't come.

"Oh no, let's go back to the wooden house." Meldas suddenly thought of something.

To our surprise, the tent outside the wooden house was in ruins. Things were thrown all over the ground.

Meldas knew that we were tricked by the enemy. The enemy was very cunning. He first led us away and then attacked the wooden house. Flants was so angry that he gritted his teeth. Who would do such a despicable thing?

"Where are the others?"

"They are all gone. There are also traces of fighting in the house." Flants had already searched.

Meldas suddenly found some footprints. He called us over to take a look. Flants didn't think it was a human's footprints. It should be some kind of beast's. So we took our weapons and followed the beast's footprints until we reached the entrance of a cave.

"This is the guy's hiding place," Flants said.

"No matter what it is, I will cut it into pieces." Flants held the weapon in his hand tightly.

The three of us walked into the cave. The entrance wasn't big, but it was just big enough for one person to walk in. The three of us walked into the cave with bent bodies. After walking for a long time, the cave suddenly opened up. This open space could fit around fifty people. But there were three forks in front of the cave. We didn't know where to go.

"Each of you go to a cave and use this to communicate," Meldas gave Flants and me a communication stone. The communication stone could send messages.

Flants and I tried it separately. It was really useful.

"The elves' things are quite powerful." Flants couldn't help but admire.

We took our torches and walked towards different entrances. Merdas chose the middle entrance.

Meldas walked into the cave. The cave was filled with spider webs and scattered bones. A rotten smell made people want to vomit. Following the narrow cave, Meldas came to an open space. There were piles of gold, silver and jewels.

Suddenly, he heard footsteps not far away. Meldas approached me quietly and saw a dark shadow following behind me. Meldas held his breath and quickly shot an arrow. I turned around and saw a pool of dirty blood on the ground. The black shadow disappeared again.

"Thank you. I didn't think you would save my life." I said.

"It's nothing. It's just that this cave is connected." Meldas said.

In this way, Merdas and I continued to walk along the winding path of the cave, one in front of the other. But we didn't know that danger was approaching.

As I walked, I suddenly felt something strangling my neck. I wanted to scream but couldn't make a sound. Soon I lost consciousness.
