Report

It was still drizzling in Crete in March. The hazy ocean was not as sacred as it was in summer. Instead, it looked a little gray. However, it was also in this month of rain and sunshine that an interesting sight could be seen on Crete in the Aegean Sea.

That was a very beautiful dividing line formed by the curtain of rain. On one side, there was a sea and island filled with haze and rain and fog, while on the other side, there was blue and green filled with sunshine and warm wind.

Several old farmers were diligently removing pests and weeds from the trees in a dark green olive grove that was closest to the curtain of rain by the sea.

The rising sea level had a direct impact on the olive farmers. There were a few new species of insects that ate the olive leaves. The insects were transparent like water, and would only show up in the morning. If one did not take a closer look, they would think they were just drops of dew when they crawled on the leaves.

The common pests on the olive trees could only be dealt with by spraying some non-poisonous chemicals at regular intervals. The olive trees would grow well for a year without rotting. The roots and leaves would not rot, and the olives would not rot. The olives would grow on the trees like green agates. When it was time to harvest, the most delicate olives would be used to make the best olives, while the rest would be used to make olive oil. Merchants from all over the world would fight to buy the olives.

However, when new insects appeared that the chemicals could not get rid of, the olive farmers would have to catch them themselves.

The olive grove was huge, and it was extremely expensive to do it. Most importantly, it was difficult to see the transparent insects. Once the rain started falling, it would be impossible for humans to catch them!

"Let's catch as many as we can while the sun is still shining. I heard that some merchants are still buying these transparent insects. We didn't get a lot of them from Mr. Lin, but we can still earn some money from them," a woman wearing a hood said.

"Why don't we put the fruits in our bags? They are worth a lot more than those disgusting insects," a young man with freckles on his face said.

"Harper, stop it. They are really going to send you to jail!"

"Humph, you're always asking us to do this and that, but you don't even give us a raise. If it weren't for Mr. Lin's girls, I wouldn't have stayed in a place like this!" Harper tossed the tweezers aside and sat down under a tree to rest.

"Hurry up, the clouds are coming. We won't be able to find those damn transparent insects. If we don't catch three bags of them, we won't get paid for the day!" the woman in charge said.

Harper scoffed at the woman's words.

He did not understand why someone would work so hard. Mr. Lin would not pay them if they did not catch three bags of the insects?

According to his years of experience doing odd jobs in the woods, farms, manors, and monasteries, as long as he could tell them that the job was difficult to complete, they would pay them every cent!

Since he could get the same amount of money just by sitting under the trees and basking in the sun, why would he have to work so hard to climb between the olive trees? After a whole day, his back would definitely hurt for a long time, and it would affect his dancing with the girls at night!

"There's still half an hour left. We should be able to make it, Harper, Harper … (sigh), forget it, you might catch a cold!" The woman was too lazy to argue with the man who was idling around.

Harper pretended he did not hear her. He took a nap under the tree. The sunlight by the beach was still abundant. It would be the busiest season in Crete in a month or two. By then, he would bring a sailboat and wear sexy swimming trunks to show off his abs. Many girls from other countries would take the initiative to offer themselves to him. Most of the time, he would not have to spend any money … he might even earn a lot of money!

Harper wished that time would pass faster as he enjoyed the warm sunlight. There were too many women from sixteen to fifty-six years old who came to the Aegean Sea to look for men. For some reason, they all wanted to do it with the local young men. Perhaps it was because their families and countries were too oppressive.

Thinking about it, Xia Bo felt a chill on his face, and he looked a little displeased.

Didn't they say the clouds would only arrive in half an hour? Why was the sunlight gone all of a sudden? It was still cold in March. It was impossible to take a nap in the wild without sunlight. He began to wonder if the Heavens were against him.

"Can we call it a day? The clouds are here, and the rain is coming soon!" Harper yelled.

Harper was even more impatient when no one answered him.

Were these people a bunch of machines? Did they really think they could live a wealthy life just because they worked so hard? How hilarious! If he had an olive grove like this, he could become rich without doing anything. His life had nothing to do with his work!

"If you aren't leaving, I'm going to. How are we supposed to see those transparent insects without sunlight?" Harper yelled.

The olive grove was extremely lush. For some reason, the wind had suddenly disappeared.

It was strange that there was no wind on an island. Unless they were in a perfect shelter, it meant that a great storm was approaching.

"Where did they go?"

Harper walked a little further and suddenly saw an empty space in the olive grove ahead.

The empty space was not very big. It was about the size of a basketball court. However, in this place where every inch of land was worth its weight in gold, Mr. Lin would not waste any of it. The basketball court was enough to plant at least seven of the best olive trees.

"Oh, oh! Which idiot turned the machine upside down? Why are they all crushed? "Harper finally realized that the empty space was actually a pit. Water was leaking out of the pit, turning it into a swamp.

The swamp was filled with the remains of the olive trees. They were all crushed into pieces.

Harper continued forward for around five minutes, but he still did not see anyone. However, he discovered another swamp just like the one in the basketball court.

This time, not only were the pieces of the olive trees floating in the swamp, there was something red too. It looked like meat paste … it did not belong to an animal, since animals did not wear clothes.

Harper's nerves tensed up. He started to jog back.

However, the more he thought about it, the more uneasy he felt. He quickened his pace!

Suddenly, a bright ray of sunlight shone down. It was quite blinding.

Weren't the clouds already here? Why was the sunlight shining down again?

Harper subconsciously lifted his gaze. His gaze passed through the dense olive leaves …

In the next second, it was as if his entire body had touched a high-voltage wire. His internal organs stopped moving, and his entire body began to tremble violently!

It was not the clouds that were blocking the sunlight in the olive grove!

It was … a giant!

When the giant moved its mountain-like body toward the town, the sunlight returned to the olive forest. However, Harper, who was overwhelmed by fear, had sunk into darkness, as if the sky had collapsed and he had fallen into an enormous abyss.
