"Calculation complete. Please continue."

"Hmm … This ending …" Feng Bujue was still thinking about the ending of the scenario. "It was so inspirational. It feels like a big adventure story has just begun …" He paused. "But the two main characters don't seem like good people!"

"You have added a new character quest." The unfamiliar system announcement suddenly appeared in his ears.

Feng Bujue still remembered hearing the sentence "Your summoning mastery has been unlocked. A new quest has been updated in the log-in lobby." That was probably what it was referring to.

As someone who had read the game's introduction and often visited the forum to collect information, Feng Bujue obviously knew about the 'character quest' setting.

In the middle of the game, there was a chance for players to trigger 'character quests' under certain circumstances (not necessarily within the scenario). This kind of quest could not be given up or shared. It could not be seen in the quest tab, and the progress could only be checked on the touchscreen of the log-in lobby.

Character quests could be seen as a kind of reward system. This kind of quest could not be failed, and there was no time limit. For example, the quest that Feng Bujue had just received. "Used summoning skills and successfully summoned creatures fifty times. Current progress: 0/50."

"Unfortunately, I can't use skills in the log-in lobby … or else I would have finished this quest in one or two days," Feng Bujue grumbled as he looked at the quest.

Everyone might be confused. He had just unlocked his summoning mastery and did not have any summoning skills, so why would he say something like that?

Actually, the answer was very simple … "Take this!"

The skill description said, "Player can choose any of the unlocked masteries and randomly activate an active skill from that masteries."

It didn't say that he couldn't choose the Summoning Element …

Furthermore, Feng Bujue had another advantage. Anyone who had learned summoning skills would know that many summoning skills required certain conditions. Setting aside Stamina Points, Mana Points, or Life Points, many summoning skills would require some very nonsensical things.

Take this as an example …

[Name: Summoning — Sailor]

Skill Card Attribute: Active, Permanent

Skill Type: Summoning

[Effect: Summon a strong sailor to fight for you (60 minute cooldown, 10 minute duration, maximum of 1 sailor at one time)]

Consumption: 10% Stamina Points, 20% Spiritual Energy Points, a can of spinach

[Learning Requirement: Summoning F]

[Remark: This is a sailor with a strange appearance. He has his own philosophy of life. He's stubborn and childish, but he has a sense of justice and dares to step forward. He's the kind of guy who would use the simplest and most violent way to save a damsel in distress. He's the most trustworthy partner in a fight.]

There were two points that needed to be mentioned in this example. First was the concept of maximum number of summons at one time.

Even though there was only one summon that had a longer cooldown than the duration of the summon, this was Thriller Paradise. Among the countless skills and items, there were items that could reduce the cooldown. As long as they were used together, it was possible to achieve multiple summons.

Therefore, the skill description stated that there could be multiple summons at one time. Of course, if there were two different players summoning the same type of summon, then two could exist at the same time.

Secondly, the second point to mention was the consumption of "a can of spinach".

This was not something that could be produced by the players themselves. If they did not buy it or find it, then the players would never be able to activate the skill.

The skill to summon sailor was not that bad because the can of spinach was available in the system shop. There were many materials needed for the summoning skill that could not be bought, so the players had to find them themselves.

Things like rusty nails, empty mineral water bottles, socks with holes in them, the hands of a clock, tissues that had been used to blow their noses, moldy bread, and so on … all kinds of things, big and small, were possible.

This setting was a pain in the ass, and it had attracted quite a number of complaints. Of course, complaints were just complaints. Many people were happy with the pain. As they complained, they happily collected the consumables.

This could only mean one thing … even though this setting was filled with malice, it was also very interesting.

Of course, there were many summons that did not require the consumption of specific items. They only required the consumption of the three values that the player had.

The summoning skill that Feng Bujue used Kyaa! to activate was of this type. This was because he did not have any specific consumables, and Kyaa! could not activate a skill that was beyond his ability.

Unless … he randomly activated a summoning skill that required the consumption of excellent quality equipment, the consumption of Life Points Recovery Potion (M), the consumption of Game Coins, or the consumption of Skill Points.

Well, he was unlucky.

"I've sacrificed six puzzle cards to unlock the summoning mastery, and at the same time, I've unlocked the chain quest. I need to train harder. In the future, when I enter a scenario, as long as the conditions are right, I should just activate a summoning skill." Feng Bujue mumbled to himself as he opened the door that led to the storage room. "Even though I have no idea what will be summoned … according to the game manual, the summons can be dispelled at any time, so it should be fine."

He walked to the first glass tube and chose the additional 40% EXP reward. It added 108000 EXP in one go.

"You've reached level 28. Maximum Stamina Points has increased to 28002800," the system said.

"This 40% EXP is getting more and more addictive." He sighed as he walked to the second glass tube.

This time, the puzzle card that Feng Bujue drew was Puzzle Card — Leather Jacket. As usual, he took out the other three cards from the storage box and selected the 'combination' option. The result was still, "Unable to find a logical combination."

He placed all the cards back into the box and returned to the elevator. "Hmm … I had an early dinner today. It's only 7 pm in real life, so it's too early to switch to sleep mode. There are only a few hours left …" His eyes wandered between the few modes. "How about … I try the Killing Game's Mixed Battle Mode?"
