Although the prowess of this Sun subtribe warrior was only average, he was definitely not someone the current Sheyan could contend against. After all, there was a gap of two whole ranks between them. Using Xuanhuan terms, even the most brilliant swordsman wouldn't be a match for the most inferior swordsman saint. Using Xianxia terms, even a master of telekinesis could only flee in the face of a lowly lightning tribulation.

Fortunately, this Sun subtribe warrior's body had suffered severe injuries from the Licker. Thus, his walking speed was substantially affected, and he couldn't catch up to Sheyan in a short period of time. Nevertheless, Sheyan couldn't shake him off in a short period of time. The main issue was that the brain of the Licker was truly too disgusting, and its stench was exceedingly intense. Even after wiping it off, it still emitted an exceedingly distinct stench. If he didn't wash it properly, it would still act as a beacon for his enemy.

As Sheyan fled in front, he noticed that the blood vessels on the neck of his pursuer had thickened, as though tree roots had penetrated deep into his body. The blood in his eyes intensified, and his violent panting could be distinctly heard. If it was an ordinary person, he definitely wouldn't display such berserk symptoms. It seemed like the virus infection in his body was rather severe.

All of a sudden, Sheyan felt a gust of wind blowing in from the front. Closely following that, a chilling sensation assaulted his face, and a damp aura. His spirit was instantly roused. It seemed like the dense fog region of the inner layer was just ahead. The terrain there was complex and vast, with numerous mutated creatures. It was extremely advantageous for escaping. As long as he could reach that place, Sheyan would be able to shake off this relentless pursuer.

A feeble radiance was emitted from the dense vines ahead. Evidently, the exit was there. Sheyan could hear the increasingly heavy panting behind him, and couldn't help exerting force on his legs. Hugging his head with both hands, he pounced out of the cave. As he pounced out, he groaned inwardly.

As it turns out, the exit was actually on a 20-plus metres high cliff! When Sheyan pounced down, he discovered an empty space below, and immediately knew something was wrong. Looking down, he saw a pitch-black expanse. Due to the weak lighting, he couldn't tell if it was leaves, bushes or even rocks. He could only take a deep breath and land. After landing, he felt a sharp pain in his thighs, as muddy water splashed out. He immediately rolled to the side to dissipate the force.

When his feet touched the ground, Sheyan was inwardly rejoicing. He could clearly feel that beneath his feet was a soft swamp filled with reeds. Even so, it was inevitable that his body would suffer some injuries. The muddy water beneath his feet was forcefully pushed aside by the tremendous momentum, and large droplets of rainwater drenched his entire body in a blink of an eye.

Closely following, a muffled thud echoed out from behind Sheyan. Evidently, that Sun subtribe warrior had leapt down as well. However, after his leg was injured, his jumping ability was bound to decline. Thus, he landed on the slippery ground, which instantly worsened the injury on his leg.

One could clearly see that the bones of his injured leg were twisted in an abnormal manner. It didn't look as simple as a fracture, and the broken bones might have even pierced deep into his muscles. Yet, that brat still persevered and chased after Sheyan with a loud roar!

Noteworthily, the sense of pain in this world wasn't weakened in the slightest. Therefore, Sheyan was still affected in this aspect. Instead, his pursuer seemed to have completely lost all sense of sensation as it relentlessly pursued Sheyan. The two continued their pursuit for another 200m, where they were drenched like a drowned rat by the torrential rain. Gasping for breath, Sheyan unknowingly drank copious amounts of rainwater.

All of a sudden, that Sun subtribe warrior behind Sheyan released a mournful howl!

Sheyan immediately spun around, only to see that warrior suddenly standing still with his bloodshot eyes protruding out. Not knowing where his strength came from, he charged ferociously towards Sheyan's direction. Instead, like a headless fly, he slammed against a boulder blocking their path! Half of that boulder crumbled from the impact, as shattered rocks scattered everywhere. That warrior was sent flying with blood flowing all over his face, as he slumped to the ground.

Not long after, he stood up again. It could be seen that this guy's two eyes had exploded, and two thin lines of blood flowed out. One of the exploded eyeballs fell out, dangling outside the eye socket, and blood flowed out. Yet in a flash, it was diluted by the torrential rain. That Sun subtribe warrior stood rooted to the ground, as he widened his mouth. His white teeth were exceptionally distinct under the contrast of his crimson blood. Then, he released a series of bizarre roars from his deep, dark throat.

First, it was a slow and deep roar, followed by a loud bellow, followed by a mournful moan. The roars were continuous, ear-piercing, and frightening. Following that, a deathly stillness tightly occupied this bizarre and frightening place. For some unknown reason, that warrior's fingers were tightly gripping onto the stone axe handle. Thus, in Sheyan's eyes, his fingers displayed a desolate deathly white colour.

All of a sudden, a soft 'pop' sound could be heard in the air. It came from the warrior's body. The sound was soft but clear. It seemed to linger around the empty ground for a while before leaving.

That warrior's complexion instantly turned pale, as his mouth widened in agony. Blood flowed out from the corners of his lips. Sheyan could clearly observe that his skin had ruptured after being drenched by the rain, exposing a large chunk of bright red flesh.

Following that, a ghastly white rib bone flew out from the warrior's body! It struck against a nearby boulder, before bouncing a few times before coming to a stop.

Then, the skeletons of this Sun Clan warrior seemed to be rushing to a grand banquet on the ground. They excitedly and impatiently flew away from the place they were supposed to be at.

What remained of his terrifying flesh was already riddled with thousands of holes, as it laid limp on the ground like a tattered gunny sack. Warm blood was gushing out incessantly. That remnant flesh was still squirming uncontrollably. Initially, it was a slight twitch, but soon, it was as though thousands of frantic centipedes were tunneling within, gnawing and nibbling!

It felt as though the bones of that Sun subtribe warrior had simultaneously betrayed him, as they frantically escaped from his body!

Sheyan observed this scene, and couldn't comprehend it no matter how much he pondered. However, time was pressing, and he carefully pondered over the reason. Then, he continued venturing into the inner layer of the misty region. At present, Sheyan was alone. Furthermore, he smeared the concocted medicine on his body, which could successfully isolate his aura. Thus, he was fearless throughout his journey.

Even though Sheyan was exceedingly clear that every second he lingered here was akin to burning money, he still had something he had to do; something he couldn't not do.

Because, if he didn't do it, then his true profits in this world would shrink by at least half! This wasn't an exaggeration to scare people, but because this matter was simply unimaginable. If not for Mbenga's final wish being fulfilled, and no longer having any lingering feelings for this world, and divulging his final secret …. Even if Sheyan racked his brains, he couldn't think of anything.

"Eh …... what's that ahead?" Sheyan traversed through the darkness with extreme caution. All of a sudden, he noticed a viscous red surging within the flowing rainwater. He hurriedly strode forward, and instantly caught a whiff of an indescribable rotting stench. It seemed like something had died up ahead.

Sheyan cautiously flipped over a boulder ahead, and wiped away the rainwater that nearly blinded his eyes. Then, when he clearly saw the situation ahead, Sheyan instantly sucked in a breath of cold air. On the path ahead, was shockingly a terrifying monster the size of a hill.

That was the blood-red Licker colossal boss!

Its expression was exceedingly malevolent, as it widened its mouth and spat out a long breath; as though even breathing air was an extravagant act. One of its horrifying claws was placed at its throat, as it tore out a mangled mess of flesh and blood. Soaked in copious amounts of rainwater, that monster appeared to be slowly dissolving. Parts of its body had already decomposed to the point of exposing its bones.

Not a single trace of life could be seen on its body, not to mention its terrifying oppressive might. Without a doubt, this monster that could be compared to Paul the Leviathan had already perished.

Nobody would feel fear towards a lump of rotting flesh, even if that lump of rotting flesh was once unrivalled under the heavens, and possessed unparalleled might.

Sheyan's heart was exceedingly clear. Everything before him wasn't an illusion, nor was it a misperception caused by the suppression of his perceptive sense. Just like how a person wanting to trample an ant to death, he wouldn't resort to feinting in the east and attacking in the west, or using an empty fort stratagem.

Observing that humongous dissolving corpse, Sheyan slowly strode forward and extended his hand to pinch it. The sensation of his fingers was exceedingly queer, as though he had touched a fresh squid, or a mushroom cap. When he released his fingers, mucus like mucus trickled down.

Sheyan's heart was brimming with suspicions. Logically speaking, this monster should be an existence at the apex of the food chain. Even if all the Ndipaya barbarians banded together, they could only injure and expel it, but not kill it.

Yet, how did it die here? Observing its situation, its surroundings hadn't changed at all. Instead, it seemed like it had died from suffocation. What kind of valiant existence was this? How could it kill without a trace? (To be continued.) If you like this work, I welcome you to donate your recommendation votes or monthly votes to me. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
