By the time Sheyan finished flipping through the last word of the booklet, he could already feel his state of mind stirring. His throat couldn't help but feel unbearably dry, as though he wanted to drink a few mouthfuls of water. According to Sheyan's current prowess and knowledge, ordinary matters wouldn't be able to shake him.
Yet if the information recorded in this booklet wasn't false, then it would indeed be like the 'Dead Sea Scroll'; revealing the ultimate secret of this world's foundation! Yet, this ultimate secret of this world's foundation, was so bizarre and outrageous to an unimaginable degree!!
*****
While Sheyan's mind was whirling rapidly, his heart suddenly felt a great sense of danger. Instantly, the seawater before his eyes rippled, as a chilling glint flickered from the side. A cutlass viciously thrusted down like a fish!
As it turns out, Sheyan had truly underestimated the crew of the Black Pearl.
How could the pirates of the three legendary battleships be trifled with? When these pirates relaxed, at most 20% of them were slacking off, but in reality, at least 80% of them were trying to confuse the enemy.
Sheyan was previously stunned by the tremendous secret recorded in Bernard Fokke's' Voyage Manual ', and couldn't help burying his head into the water to take a few deep breaths. Though his breaths were light, they carried a certain degree of urgency. Although Sheyan immediately retracted his head back, the pirates still immediately detected his abnormality.
Though Sheyan's concealment in the sand could be considered concealed, as long as one had a preconceived impression and carefully searched, it definitely wouldn't be flawless. Hence, after the five pirates determined his location, they actually slowly approached and surrounded him. Only after setting up a pocket formation, did they invite Sheyan into their trap.
Facing that cutlass thrusting down, Sheyan instinctively flipped his hand and grabbed onto the blade!
His physique was originally his forte, and with the support of his innate ability 'Stronghold', as well as the 50% damage reduction of the 'Aztec Gold Curse', even though the one thrusting this cutlass was an elite pirate of the Black Pearl, Sheyan still managed to grab onto it tightly. Blood seeped out from the gaps of his fingers, as the seawater was dyed red in a flash.
However, the pirates had already made their preparations. As soon as a knife was grasped, two more knives immediately came slashing down!
The difficulty of entering this world could be said to be exceedingly low. Sheyan had persevered till now, yet he was riddled with injuries. One of his eyes was blinded, and his right arm was severed at the shoulder. He was undoubtedly severely crippled.
Although black magic was prevalent in this world, it was easy to find black magic that could blind a person's eyes or break their right hand. However, it was extremely difficult to find a black magic that could perform such deep treatment. Therefore, he could only forcefully endure being crippled until he returned to the realm for treatment. Hence, he had no way of recovering from this permanent disability.
But in this way, Sheyan could only endure these two slashes!
Sheyan's battle against Little Lord Fokke could be said to be exceedingly arduous. He was originally gravely injured, and had barely recovered a little. At present, the five Black Pearl pirates were pouncing towards him like wolves and tigers. They couldn't be killed, nor could they be chopped away. Under their united will, even the mighty demon horse Momore could only be miserably trapped. If Sheyan were to be trapped, then he would most likely nurse a grievance on the spot, and perish here.
Sheyan was also a decisive individual. With a quick thought, he fished out that Aztec gold coin and gripped it tightly in his hand. With a loud roar, he endured several slashes, and relied on his immense strength to knock away two pirates. Then, he flashed that cursed Aztec gold coin towards them, allowing them to clearly see it. Then, he flung it towards the distant sea. However, his fling seemed to have injured his arm, as it only flew 5-6 metres before sinking into the water.
This gold coin was the most important item to the pirates of the Black Pearl. Instantly, two pirates instinctively rushed forward to retrieve it. The pressure Sheyan was facing instantly reduced from five to three. Thus, he immediately fled. However, he was still entangled by the other three pirates, and was unable to widen the distance between them.
Yet when the two pirates who went to retrieve the gold coin dived into the sea to search, Sheyan once again spread out his hand. That Aztec gold coin was actually still within his palm!
As it turns out, he had merely tossed out a rock the size of a gold coin. Because its flying speed was extremely fast, and the distance it flew wasn't too far. Thus, this smokescreen was able to deceive the pirates. At this moment, he once again exerted his strength, tossing that tangerine sized Aztec gold coin into the sea. Sheyan's strength was already several folds that of an ordinary person. Thus, when he tossed it out with all his might, that sparkling gold coin tumbled incessantly under the moonlight. Obviously, it couldn't be faked. After flying for close to a hundred metres, it finally plunged into the sea, without even causing a splash.
At present, the tide was ebbing, but those pirates knew how dangerous it was. Once this gold coin was washed into the deep sea, it would be extremely troublesome. One must understand, although these pirates possessed an immortal body and the ability to sense gold coins, they didn't possess the fiery eyes of gold!
The translucency of the seawater was roughly 50-60 metres, and everything below was pitch black. They didn't have any waterproof searchlights, and could only rely on their bare hands to search. If there were any undercurrents beneath the sea, then it would be even more fun. Once the pirates dived in, they would be washed away …..
The only method was to utilize black magic to control the sea creatures to search. That way, the time and energy required wouldn't be too troublesome. Therefore, even with the capabilities of the Black Pearl, and the ambitious and ruthless commanding of Barbossa, that chest of Aztec gold still took close to a decade to collect!
Thus, when Sheyan tossed out that gold coin, he was obviously bullying the pirates who were chasing after him. Coincidentally, it was like hitting a snake at its weakest point, and the pirates couldn't help but be anxious! At present, the three pirates chasing after him understood the crux of the matter. To avoid being beaten up by Barbossa, they could only glare at him with fiery eyes as he left, while they dived into the sea to retrieve the gold coin.
Although he had escaped from danger, Sheyan could only sigh helplessly. This was because he had just completed the 3 days minimum requirement of the hidden main mission 'Curse'. To obtain the highest reward, he had to maintain it for at least a week.
Sheyan's thoughts were extremely meticulous. Although he was cursed by the Aztec race, the curse only restricted him from receiving utility points and potential points from completing any mission. It didn't mention that achievement points would be deducted. Furthermore, if he completed a mission perfectly, he could even draw an equipment.
However, he couldn't have his cake and eat it too. At present, Sheyan was tightly entangled by the five pirates of the legendary battleship. Sheyan's style was to rely on his thick skin and flesh to fight a battle of attrition with his enemies. Yet this time, the enemies he encountered were even more capable of attrition than him. They were able to restrain him in the aspect he excelled in the most. If he still wished to achieve a perfect mission, then he might really die here!
At present, after escaping from the pursuit of the Black Pearl pirates, Sheyan received a notification from his nightmare imprint.
"Hidden main mission 'Curse' completed."
"Mission description: You have successfully held onto the Aztec gold for 72 hours."
"Mission description: You have merely completed the minimum requirement of the mission. Mission evaluation: C- "
"Mission description: You possess the Aztec race's curse. You are unable to receive utility points and potential points as a reward."
"You receive 4 achievement points as a reward = 1 point for completing the main mission + 1 point for legend level + 2 additional points for completing the hidden mission."
"You have completed the hidden main mission. Party experience points increased."
At present, with the addition of the 4 achievement points from slaying Little Lord Fokke, Sheyan had already received an additional 8 achievement points as a reward within this short period of time. At present, his achievement points had already reached 104 points, and could be considered to have broken through the 100 mark.
At present, Sheyan lingered in Tortuga port for a while, only to witness a gloomy and miserable fog. Cries and wails could be heard everywhere. Little Lord Fokke's spread of diseases were truly frightening, and could easily invisibly kill others. Moreover, the infectious diseases he spread were exceedingly virulent, and had a high fatality rate. Sheyan reckoned that he had slain at least a thousand innocent pirates in that battle.
Sheyan could only sigh as he pondered. If not for those pirates replacing him to consume Little Lord Fokke's deathly aura, he reckoned he would've met with a grim end. Looking at the approaching time of his stay in this world, Sheyan wondered how Mogensha and Reef were doing.
Fortunately, Reef still had his final trump card. After becoming an official Growth-hunter, his prowess would inevitably rise substantially. Moreover, his' Shattering Cardiac Roar 'was an area of effect deceleration, and was a top notch item for fleeing. Basically, he should be able to escape without mishap.
Following the elapse of time, Sheyan finally received a notification to return to the realm. He had had enough of his current crippled state. Moreover, the curse on his body was exceedingly unbearable. Hence, he impatiently chose to return.
Sheyan still chose to return to the shore of the sea. At present, the tide was clearly ebbing. Yet all of a sudden, a white line swept in from afar. Roughly ten seconds later, an incomparably turbulent tidal wave soared to the heavens.
Though such a situation was rare, it wasn't like it had never happened before. It was known as the 'Returning Tide', a dreadful thing for seafarers to encounter. It could be said that one encounter was certain death! Only a few managed to survive.
After the tidal wave swept in, Sheyan who was originally standing by the shore vanished. Yet to Sheyan, being swept away by the tidal wave was as steady as riding on a carrier. Beneath his feet, it was as though an invisible elevator had brought him into the deep sea. Initially, he could still see specks of twinkling stars and moons in the sky, but soon, it was pitch-black.
