Sheyan pondered for a moment before inquiring a pirate.
"What's the name of that old man who had his hand chopped off by One-Eyed Hog?"
That pirate instantly replied in fear and trepidation.
"I only know his name is Ol 'Seadog, boss!"
Sheyan nodded and replied.
"Call him over."
Very quickly, Ol 'Seadog stood before Sheyan with a pale complexion due to blood loss. Sheyan directly handed over the brass binoculars to Ol' Seadog.
"Henceforth, you shall be our chief lookout. Although the value of this object is far from sufficient to compensate for your loyalty and sacrifice, please accept it!"
At present, a large crowd had gathered around, casting envious gazes over. Ol 'Seadog accepted the binoculars with his trembling hands, as his muddy old eyes flickered with something.
"This, this is a family heirloom. Sir, I …... I'm not worthy of your praise!"
Sheyan replied with an amiable countenance.
"What you've done has left me extremely satisfied. Please bring it along and familiarize yourself with its functions, then proceed to your new post. You're now the third officer of this ship. Furthermore, I need you to dispatch someone to report to me every ten minutes regarding the current situation of the sea."

The sea breeze became stronger, and all the ships lowered half of their sails. Even so, the ship's hull was still shaking violently. It was as though a mysterious force was surging from the depths of the sea.
To Lieutenant Colonel Bath, he couldn't wait for the ship to become more bumpy, because that would substantially increase the difficulty of those damned pirates! After two bloody battles, he couldn't help but admit that the cannons and ships of those pirates were exceedingly tattered. Nevertheless, their valiant and fearless spirit was truly troublesome to deal with.
At the start of the battle, Old Bath commanded his three-masted 'Galen' galley ship, the 'Richie'. Utilizing its incomparably ferocious firepower superiority, it successively sunk three pirate ships of the same tonnage class. Yet the price it paid was merely several hundred kilograms of gunpowder, lead bullets and a single digit number of casualties.
Yet as the scale of the battle escalated, at least a third of his subordinates had perished in the previous two skirmishes. The most unfortunate news was that before Lieutenant Colonel Bath's lads had time to catch their breath and bandage their wounds, the third boarding battle had already arrived.
Although the Ricky had achieved outstanding results of sinking and damaging three other ships in this grand naval battle, the aged Bath still felt powerless in the face of the numerous waves of pirates that came charging at him dauntlessly.
All of a sudden, a marine.
"Good news, a ship of ours has arrived from the west to provide reinforcements!"
The sea breeze whistled. If someone were to look down from the sky, they would see a three-masted ship sailing at high speed on the surface of the sea, braving the wind and waves. It was sailing towards them from afar, with a long northern line trailing behind its stern. Looking at its sailing posture, it was brimming with an indomitable spirit, as though it was facing death unflinchingly!
Bath fished out his binoculars and observed. Indeed, it was his fleet's 3-masted 'Galen' galley ship. How could those destitute pirates possess the ability to purchase such a brand-new and formidable ship? Therefore, Bath, who had rich battlefield experience, immediately gave the order.
"Instruct our men to immediately prepare to break away from their defensive formation. Once our allies have arrived, we will immediately launch an all-out counterattack!"
That galley galley galley swiftly neared the vicinity of the Richie. The ecstatic marines even braved the frenzied pincer attacks of the pirates to clear out an empty space for them to board.
Yet very quickly, they were incomparably shocked and infuriated to discover that those emotionless' allies' had actually amassed a certain number of people on the deck. Then, they started to crazily lay their hands on them!
Closely following that, a large group of ragged and crazed pirates swarmed out from the ship's hold. They shrieked with incomparable excitement as they brandished their hatchets, cutlasses, hammers, saws and anything else they could find; as they swarmed forward like a swarm of bees.
Sheyan's plan of 'using disorder to disorder' had been fully implemented! Using their incomparably chaotic organization system, they engaged in close combat with their enemies! Counting the Hillcrest, this plan appeared to be rather good. Old Lancer's Richie was already the third victim.
Noteworthily, after the conclusion of the previous battle, the pirate ships were directly sunk. Instead, the Royal Navy ships were steered to a designated location outside the battlefield, before anchored there. Of course, the wounded were transported to the departing ships for treatment.
In this incomparably chaotic grand naval battle, especially the battles outside the battlefield, it was rare to attract the attention of a superior. Moreover, what could a unqualified person do? Ships leaving the battlefield after sustaining injuries was a common occurrence. One must understand, although human lives were cheap, the construction of a ship was exceedingly expensive! Almost everyone had received an order to prioritize the preservation of a ship.
Under the cruel 'pledge of allegiance' system, a large number of British naval captives were bluntly and swiftly added to the ranks of the pirates. They were swiftly rushed into the battlefield, filling up the frontlines and playing the role of vanguard for the pirates. At present, Sheyan's manpower seemed to be increasing as the battle progressed. Although the casualty rate of hand-to-hand combat was exceedingly high, they had already neared 200 men.
Bath roared with incomparable fury. His gold-inlaid cutlass was already stained with blood. Even his well-tempered cutlass was chipped off due to excessive slaughter. Yet, the pirates before him seemed to be inexhaustible, as they surged forward violently. Furthermore, his valiant marines were caught in a predicament of fighting on both sides.
All this was caused by those damned fake marines! If not for them, Bath wouldn't have been able to engage in a direct confrontation with these pirates! This old Lieutenant Colonel originally planned to encircle and annihilate these pirates. Hence, once he discovered that the incoming pirates weren't reinforcements, but a calamity, he was forced to face the cruel fate of being surrounded and annihilated!
All of a sudden, a familiar face flashed into Bath's eyes. This face had once followed him in learning swordsmanship. Logically speaking, this face should've been fighting alongside him. Yet, this face's owner was expressionlessly raising his weapon and lashing out at Bath's subordinates. Bath abruptly roared out in disbelief.
"Philip! Do you know what you're doing? "
In a flash, Philip turned his stupefied head over. That stupefied expression of his caused Bath to feel as though the pungent stench of blood in the air had weakened. Philip's gaze merely paused for 0.01 seconds on Bath's face, before abruptly turning towards a british marine in front of him. Then, he roared loudly.
"Surrender, or die!"
That marine replied with a forceful slash of his saber. Thus, Bath witnessed this former comrade of his turning sideways, drawing his saber and chopping down. As for that competent Staff Sergeant of his, due to his overly large strides, he was chopped down onto the deck by the saber. Rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble as he rolled several metres away. Then, his back stiffened as he laid there motionless. Only scarlet blood flowed out like a waterfall from his body.
"NO!!" Old Bath roared out in fury. Unknowingly, a surge of immense strength gushed out from his body. Within a short span of time, the rapier in his hand consecutively pierced through the throats of 2-3 enemies. Then, like a ferocious tiger descending from the mountains, he pounced towards Philip.
This old captain's swordsmanship was exceedingly outstanding. His slender rapier flashed through the air, directly thrusting towards Philip's right wrist. Evidently, up till now, he still didn't wish to harm this comrade and prized disciple of his.
Instead, Philip's broadsword ferociously slashed horizontally as he attempted to deflect the rapier. Instead, Old Bath's arm strength was abnormally strong. With an incomparably vigorous stride, Old Bath firmly pressed Philip back a step.
The two of them gazed at each other across their crossed blood-stained blades. Old Bath lamented bitterly.
"What in the world happened, Philip! What caused you to betray our country? Do you still remember the oath you swore when you joined the marines? Lay down your weapon, and I will request Captain Norrington to grant you amnesty! "
Philip mournfully replied.
"It's futile, teacher. Let me tell you. Major Dakos died in my hands, Captain Madike's neck was slit by me, and Major Hedgett's chest was pierced by me. Even the Queen of England will never forgive my sins."
Old Bath felt his vision darken.
"You …... what in the world happened to you!"
Philip laughed bitterly.
"The Hill Maiden encountered a demon. Unfortunately, we foolishly infuriated him …... this is what we brought upon ourselves. I'm very sorry, Lieutenant Colonel Bath, but I cannot die in your hands. My life doesn't belong to me, but belongs to those comrades who believed in me. "
After speaking, Philip waved his rapier and retreated backwards. Old Bath was about to pursue, when he suddenly felt an indescribable menacing sensation transmitted over from his right. He hastily blocked with his rapier, but suddenly felt an indescribable tremendous force being transmitted over from his rapier. (To be continued.)
