Chapter 353

Words:2251Update:22/06/28 06:22:26

Report

The ferocity of the Sturmbeest's rampage could only be described as a steam locomotive that had been magnified by ten times!!!

Under such a terrifying charge, who dared to cross their swords and ride on horseback?

Roughly a hundred or so contestants were stationed at the western front. Among them, there were at least seventy long range combatants. If one were to eliminate a few eccentric individuals and agility type close combat contestants, there would only be ten plus contestants who could truly stand at the frontlines. However, the only one who dared to proclaim himself as an MT, was Reef. (One must possess an innate defensive ability to be called an MT)! One could tell the scarcity of MTs.

Following Mogensha's signature golden AK's long muzzle flare, all the long range combatants aimed towards the left foreleg of the gigantic beast and blasted it. Of course, due to the battle line's width reaching close to a hundred metres, and the angle of the battle and other factors, only a third of the contestants could focus their firepower. The rest had to deal with the ordinary wild beasts that swarmed in.

Actually, if there was only one gigantic beast, as long as the long range combatants' firepower was sufficient, they would be able to inflict a crippling effect in the shortest time possible, and rapidly reduce its movement speed. Then, its threat wouldn't be too great. After all, its greatest weakness was its lack of long range combatants.

The true terror of the Stampeding Bull was its ability to disrupt the enemy's formation; allowing the viperwolves at the back to face the long range contestants without any hindrance. With such a targeted attack, it could instantly throw the battle into chaos. If it was an ordinary party, even if they weren't completely wiped out, their vitality would definitely be greatly damaged!

Fortunately, Reef possessed a domineering AOE speed reduction ability, and naturally could intercept the follow-up attacks of the viperwolves. Although the attacks of those ordinary wild beasts weren't ordinary, they weren't long range combatants and were unable to focus their firepower. Fortunately, Reef still had 10 plus contestants who could follow up, and spread apart the wild beasts. He didn't hope to finish them off in a short period of time, but only hoped to delay them.

Once the front leg of the Sturmbeest was crippled, its movement speed would be greatly reduced. Then, a contestant with slightly faster movement speed would be able to attract its attention, while the rest of the contestants would focus their firepower on the viperwolves. Finally, the Sturmbeest would be killed.

Honestly speaking, there wasn't a single problem with Reef's battle plan. However, accidents would always appear like ghosts on the battlefield. Just when this huge Banyan Ox was 20 to 30 metres away, more than 10 strange golden beasts simultaneously flashed out from behind its back. They aimed at the distant long-range contestants who had just finished firing a round of firepower, and puffed out their cheeks fiercely!

These golden beasts had very strange appearances. They had the slender legs of red-crowned cranes and the curved necks of pheasants. However, their lower bodies were oval and flat like turtles. It had six legs. Four of them were hooves for walking, while the other two were bent and mutated. They looked like mutated praying mantises with serrated feet. They looked very ferocious.

Their skin was smooth and dry, but due to the looseness of their skin, the contours of their muscles could be vaguely seen beneath their skin. When these creatures straightened their necks and spat towards the contestants in the distance, their necks would strangely swell up like cobras. Venomous stingers with neurotoxins would shoot out from their sharp tongues!

Amidst his busy schedule, that lookout contestant was actually able to report the details of this creature at the first instance.

Therefore, after successfully striking the enemy, there is a 50% chance of not being able to engage in close combat for 20 seconds.

Description: This creature is known as Lenayga by the na'vi people. It is one of the most bizarre and dangerous creatures ever discovered on Pandora. This terrestrial carnivore prefers to inhabit tropical rainforests, and mainly preys on peacock deer.

It has a height of 2.4 metres, and has a muscular neck. Its triangular head has a venomous stinger that can secrete neurotoxins. When approaching its prey, this creature will move slowly and silently through the forest ferns in order to avoid making any noise. When it senses its prey, its rooster like neck will eject venomous stingers at high speed, before capturing its prey.

*****

The first wave of venomous stingers ejected by the slinger instantly resulted in the death of two long range contestants. This bunch of highly intelligent creatures even knew how to concentrate their firepower on a single target. To long range contestants who were strong in offense but weak in defense, their venomous stingers could deal a single damage of 50-70 points. Yet more shamelessly, the venomous damage of their attacks could even be stacked!

For example, if one slinger attacked, the venomous damage would last for 15 seconds. Then, if two slingers attacked, it would be 10 points 3 seconds, lasting for 15 seconds. 10 slingers would be 50 points 3 seconds, lasting for 15 seconds. And so on and so forth.

In actual fact, the first concentrated firepower of the slingers was to simultaneously attack 3 contestants. Every 4 slingers focused their firepower on one contestant, and the targets were naturally the most prominent long range contestants. In the end, those contestants instantly perished under the concentrated firepower, and didn't even have the time to consume any medicines. The lucky survivor was naturally the one with the highest HP, Mogensha. Firstly, he possessed the 100 HP bonus of his silver party ability, and secondly, his equipment had been strengthened by Reef with the crystals he brought back from the Starry Galaxy world. Even so, he was still struck into a near-death state.

Shaken to the core, Mogensha immediately disregarded his image as he rolled forward like a lazy donkey. Following that, he activated his party ability 'Gloryheal', which could be considered as neutralizing the venomous damage. Only after 15 seconds of venomous damage did he apply a bandage on himself. Only after his HP had recovered by half, did he straighten up and resumed his assault.

After the appearance of enemies with similar long range capabilities, the contestants were caught unprepared. Mainly because the slingers were too wretched, they actually stuck close to the back of the Sturmbeest's buttocks. Only when they neared did they suddenly launch an assault, causing considerable damage to the contestants.

Nevertheless, the contestants who were able to kill their way here were all experts who had experienced the great waves of elimination. Although there were casualties, it wasn't like they hadn't battled with enemies with similar long range capabilities. Of course, the first thing they had to do was to seek cover, and calculate the interval between their opponent's attacks.

To an enemy who used gunpowder weapons, this interval was the time needed to empty their bullets and reload. To a creature like the slingers, it was the time needed to inhale and exhale after spitting out their venomous stingers.

Grasping this interval was akin to grasping the pulse of the attack, grasping the rhythm of the attack, and grasping the initiative of the battlefield.

Belonging to a party known as' Sons of Caden ', 5 long range combatants concentrated their firepower. Every time they unleashed, they would inevitably inflict heavy damage or even insta-kill a slinger. Concurrently, two other close range combatants from their party had abandoned their opponents, and crept in from behind the slingers' buttocks. Naturally, they were taking advantage of the situation to fish in troubled waters.

Strictly speaking, although they were similarly long range combatants, Sheyan still felt that there was a disparity between them and the tentacle monsters he encountered in the previous world. At least, the tentacle monsters' circular eyes were unbelievably awesome. They were hailed as existences that monitored 24/7 without any blind spots, and weren't afraid of others creeping in from behind.

Naturally, the slingers suffered disastrous casualties in the instance of concentrated firepower! But one mustn't ever forget, those two close range combatants had abandoned the targets they lured in to assist. Therefore, the two viperwolves that they abandoned couldn't possibly remain at their original spot to lazily yawn and bask in the sun, before flipping their bellies towards the sky to copulate. Naturally, they ran over to Reef's side. If Reef hadn't held back previously, and if Sheyan was merely an assistant without the potential of an MT, then undoubtedly, even if Reef didn't die, he would be half crippled!

More crucially, when the slingers appeared, they completely ignored Reef's command to shoot at the Sturmbeest's front legs. Thus, the Sturmbeest was still vigorously pursuing a sniper rifle user. That unlucky brat had caused the greatest damage, and naturally the Sturmbeest's hatred towards him was the deepest! When the slingers were in a mess, the Sturmbeest had already caught up to that contestant.

"Save him!" Facing such a situation, Sheyan roared loudly into the party channel! (To be continued. If you like this work, I welcome you to donate your recommendation votes or monthly votes to me. Your support, is my greatest motivation.)
