Chapter 291

Words:2059Update:22/06/28 06:22:12

Report

Very obviously, in the Lord of the Rings world, although the elves were arrogant, they wouldn't directly chase away friendly humans. Of course, they wouldn't treat strangers and nameless humans too well. You can understand this as the attitude of humans towards pets in the present world. That is to say, if they were able to enter Rivendell, with the help of this innocent elf lady, Melody, it wouldn't be a problem for them to stay there for months without any danger.

Of course, Sheyan didn't believe that the realm would toss them into an 'A' difficulty world just to defeat a few orcs. Under the guidance of this little elf lass, they would experience the picturesque scenery of the Misty Mountains and Rivendell, and nothing more.

In reality, the closer they got to Rivendell, the more intense the sense of danger he felt. But ….. obviously, a huge temptation was placed in front of Sheyan. Once they entered Rivendell, they would definitely receive the highest reward! One must understand, even during Sauron's most savage period, Rivendell had never fallen! Such a matter of once and for all, no doubt, Sheyan's desire was immense.

Thus, after a brief discussion, Sheyan and Reef decided to continue advancing. Of course, they had to be careful. If they really couldn't make it, they would split up and charge into Rivendell. As long as one of them could make it in, their mission would be accomplished.

However, the elf maiden Melody who felt like she was about to return home didn't have such awareness. Instead, she skipped ahead like a cheerful little deer, while softly singing an elf song. Although the two of them couldn't understand what she was singing, they could understand that her voice was like a cheerful spring gurgling against the rocks, extremely pleasant to the ears.

The three of them advanced for roughly a hundred metres. According to the elf maiden, they could see the white stone path towards Rivendell after descending from the mountain slope.

That arrowhead!

That valiant arrowhead that Reef had discovered upon entering this world!

That arrowhead that could pierce through a hundred year old fir tree!!!

Following that, he felt a stifling sensation.

Sheyan turned his head abruptly and saw a huge bow about 40 meters away aiming at him. The spine of this bow looked like it was forged from a pitch black metal, and the deathly pale bowstring was obviously a thick tendon that was peeled off from a wild beast. It was so thick that it almost reached the diameter of a human thumb. More importantly, the bow was already a crescent moon, the arrow was already nocked, the bowstring was already taut. The muscles and bones of the hand that held onto this huge bow were protruding, the thick skin emitting a deathly pale colour, and even a layer of fine hair.

The arrow was aimed at Sheyan's chest!!!

Then, Sheyan heard the sound of a bowstring being released. The sound pierced into his internal organs, causing him to feel so uncomfortable that he wanted to vomit blood.

After the arrow was released, one could see the wooden shaft of the arrow was enveloped in a layer of greyish black flames, as it disintegrated into powder in the air. Thus, the arrow's trajectory left a faint black trail. Furthermore, that strange blue triangular arrowhead, in a blink of an eye, was already 3 meters away from Sheyan! It didn't give him any time to react, dodge or parry!!!

But at this moment, a sturdy and tall figure crashed in from the side. Bringing along a whistling gust of wind. It was Reef who had raised his shield up high. His figure was like a majestic and unmoving reef in the midst of a torrential storm, shielding Sheyan behind him.

Courage,

Activate!!

Peng! The triangular arrowhead nailed itself into Reef's silver storyline shield 'Alien's Skull'. It actually pierced through it. Fortunately, the arrowhead's trajectory changed, tearing off a long strip of flesh from Reef's arm. Blood and flesh splattered everywhere as the arrowhead refracted into the air. This was one of Reef's ultimate basic abilities – 'Courage'! Not only could it replace the target to receive the next damage, it would also weaken the damage by 15%!

After being ambushed, the two immediately reacted. Reef raised his shield and charged forward, but a faint layer of greyish black surfaced on his body. It seemed like the poison on the arrowhead had caused his movement speed to be greatly suppressed. Sheyan could clearly see the ambusher. It was a tall and sturdy humanoid creature, with a robust physique. His muscles were distinct, and his skin was coarse. His skin was deathly white mixed with a tinge of brown. His nostrils were inverted like a pig, and his greyish white hair draped over his shoulders. Although he didn't speak, the muscles on his face displayed a savageness as he gnashed his teeth. His two turbid little eyes were brimming with a venomous glint.

Elf maiden Melody shrieked.

"Uruk-hai! Another demon has appeared! "

Seeing the Uruk-hai once again nocked an arrow, Sheyan didn't hesitate to pull out 'Ambition', activating 'Rum and Songs' before firing!

Don't ever forget, Sheyan's concoction skills originated from that incomplete notebook – 'Uruk-hai's insights'. Therefore, in terms of understanding of the Uruk-hai, it could be said that the majority of the people here, or even the entire Middle-earth continent, were far inferior to him!

Amidst the rumbling of the musket, a lead bullet flew out. The Uruk-hai seemed to be able to sense the might of the bullet, and swiftly retracted his bow and rolled to the side. If the lead bullet had followed its original trajectory, then it would've missed its target by a thousand miles. Fortunately, 'Rum and Songs' had a special property of 'Guaranteed Hit'. The lead bullet whistled through the air, turning 30 degrees in the air, as it struck the Uruk-hai's chest, causing a small blob of black blood to splash out. The stun effect was activated, causing the Uruk-hai to be rooted to the ground.

Although the lead bullet had a 3 seconds stun effect, Sheyan believed that if it wasn't for the 3 seconds stun effect of 'at least 2 seconds', then the Uruk-hai's incomparably strong basic attributes would've been reduced to 0.5 seconds!

Fortunately, this 2 seconds stun effect gave Reef enough time to close in. While sprinting, Reef released a furious roar – 'Shattering Cardiac Roar', as the formless soundwave of his' Shattering Cardiac Roar 'blasted out in all directions! However, the scene that everyone was most unwilling to see happened. The nightmare imprint transmitted the word 'resist' mercilessly, causing Reef's heart to turn cold.

He gritted his teeth, sacrificing 25% of his HP to unleash 'Shattering Cardiac Roar' once again. Fortunately, when Sheyan opened fire, the elf maiden Melody awoke from her flustered state. She waved her pike and chanted an incantation.

"Green plants."

"Please heed the request of the heir of the Spring Water Goddess."

"Your branches and leaves shall be praised by us."

"Your fruits shall be nurtured by us."

"Your roots shall be used by us, to bind the enemy's flesh!"

After Melody's chant, it coincided with the end of the stun effect of 'Rum and Songs'. Beneath the uruk-hai's feet, dense tree roots abruptly sprouted out of the ground, tightly binding his body. Not only that, the roots of the tree roots pierced deep into the uruk-hai's flesh and skin; like tentacles, they plundered the uruk-hai's flesh and blood.

At this moment, Sheyan who had activated his soul equipment had already overtaken the poisoned Reef, successfully charging in front of the Uruk-hai. Although Sheyan wasn't considered short, but compared to this viciously strong creature, he appeared frail and pitiful. It was like comparing a brawny man to a child.

Because he didn't know how long the elven maiden's roots could last, Sheyan didn't hesitate to charge in. According to common practice, a long range archer would be weak in close combat. However, Sheyan had miscalculated one thing. That 'common practice' information he obtained, might not be applicable in the 'A' difficulty nightmare world!

Facing Sheyan's sudden charge, the Uruk-hai's white hair fluttered as it tossed away its bow, allowing the roots to bind its movements. Its two fists were clenched tightly, the beast hide armour on its body was visibly swollen due to its tight muscles. As Sheyan neared, the uruk-hai's ferocious eyes revealed a trace of disdain. It released a roar from its throat, as a pungent stench blasted towards Sheyan's face.

Because the Uruk-hai had the advantage of height, its fist bluntly smashed towards Sheyan's face! At this moment, Sheyan finally noticed that this punch had the feel of an uppercut. If he received it head on, he would probably be sent flying!

Sheyan instinctively crossed his arms in front of his chest to block, but his hasty block failed. His arms were bluntly blasted away by the fist, and directly struck his shoulder. His vision darkened, as he felt an indescribable tremendous force pouncing towards him. Sheyan's eyes were filled with darkness, as he felt an indescribable immense force pouncing towards him. Following that, an indescribable pain transmitted from his shoulder. Sheyan who was charging forward at high speed was actually sent flying backwards by this punch! (To be continued.
