Chapter 18

Report

After the explosion subsided, Kieran, who was leaning against the wall, did not immediately turn on the diesel generator. Instead, he stood quietly and listened.

Although he knew how powerful the grenade's explosion was, he knew that no one would be able to survive it if it exploded in a room like this, but he still had to be vigilant.

Ten seconds later, Kieran confirmed that there was no sound coming from the room.

Kieran walked to the diesel generator and turned it on again.

The generator roared again, and the corridor and the room were once again lit up, except for the room that had been used as a gathering place by the armed thugs.

The walls there had been full of holes from the grenade, let alone the lights and the people inside.

Kieran, who was already familiar with the bloody scene, felt the discomfort in his stomach again when he saw the broken limbs in the room.

However, Kieran forced himself not to vomit.

He was forcing himself to confirm the death of the thugs and clean up the loot.

In fact, these armed thugs who had their bodies penetrated by the grenades were already dead, and their loot was basically destroyed in the explosion.

Kieran was just looking for an excuse to get used to the bloody scene.

Kieran could imagine that he would have to face this kind of bloody scene countless times in the coming days. In order not to vomit like the first time he saw a dead person, he had to get used to it.

Two minutes later, Kieran walked out of the room with an ugly expression.

Even though he had walked out, Kieran's nose was still filled with the thick stench of blood. He had to take a few deep breaths to get rid of the unpleasant smell.

"Still too far away!"

Kieran laughed at himself and immediately started to check the rest of the rooms.

Most of the rooms were the thugs' bedrooms, and the floor was littered with mattresses and blankets.

There was an exception, which seemed to be a storage room.

A shovel, a saw, a big barrel of oil, and a wheelbarrow made Kieran's eyes shine.

There was a lot of food, water, and firearms in the Vulture's bedroom. After carrying the backpack, Kieran could not take everything with him.

But now, he could at least take half of it!

Kieran put the shovel and saw in the wheelbarrow and went to the Vulture's bedroom.

He did not know when he would need tools like the shovel and saw, so Kieran brought them with him. If the barrel of oil wasn't too big and heavy, Kieran would have taken it with him.

Inside the Vulture's bedroom, Maggie was sitting on the bed just like before Kieran left.

When she saw Kieran walk back in with a wheelbarrow and open the door of the Vulture's bedroom, Maggie's face changed when she thought about the explosion. Her body, which was sitting on the bed, unconsciously moved back a little. Although she had been hiding during the four months of war, she was not stupid.

Maggie knew what had happened in the past few minutes.

Kieran clearly noticed Maggie's little movements.

He even saw a trace of indescribable fear in her eyes as she looked at him.

Kieran did not explain though.

When Maggie could not be trusted, it was not a bad idea to make her afraid.

At least she would listen to him.

"Help me put the food and water in the wheelbarrow!"

Kieran said as he took out the shovel and saw from the wheelbarrow.

As soon as Kieran's voice subsided, Maggie moved quickly, not even bothering to put on her shoes.

Kieran, of course, would not sit back and do nothing. While Maggie moved the food and water, Kieran also moved.

In less than two minutes, half of the food and water were loaded onto the wheelbarrow. According to Kieran's estimation, it was enough for him and Colleen to survive for a month.

"What a great harvest!"

Kieran muttered in his heart as he put the backpack with the jewels on it, along with the shovel and shovel. He then tidied up the rest of the guns and pushed the trolley, ready to leave.

"As a reward for helping me put the food and water, you can pick whatever you want from the rest. But I'm warning you, leave before dawn! "

Kieran said before he left.

After dawn, the rebel major would definitely send someone over. When he found out that everything was a lie, Kieran could imagine how angry he would be.

Anyone who stayed behind would not have a good ending.

If it had been the armed thugs, Kieran would not have cared.

But if it had been the innocent, Kieran thought he had to warn them.

Of course, it was just a warning.

Kieran would not do anything more than that.

After all, in this war-torn city, he could not even protect himself most of the time.

Pushing the wheelbarrow with the heavy loot, Kieran left the underground storehouse. He threw the special sniper rifle on the wheelbarrow and prepared to return to the hideout.

Suddenly, a series of footsteps sounded.

Maggie ran up to Kieran. On her back was a bag wrapped in a bedsheet.

"Can, can I go with you?"

Maggie asked Kieran. She looked worried, afraid that Kieran would not agree.

At the same time, his fear towards Kieran didn't decrease at all.

Maggie had no other choice though.

Being easily captured by the Vulture's men, as well as what happened afterward, all told Maggie the horror of the city she was in now.

Although she could once again return to her hiding place and rely on the food and water she had just obtained to survive for a while.

But what if she ran out of food and water?

She would have to come out of her hideout.

Would she be as lucky as this time and meet someone like Kieran to save her?

The answer was no.

Instead of falling into despair, she would rather pray to Kieran, the person she feared, to go with him.

Even though Kieran's methods had frightened her, Kieran had been acting like a gentleman. He looked at her cautiously and not like the other armed thugs, who looked at her like a beast.

After a moment of hesitation, Maggie caught up to him.

"I'm a nurse. I know how to bandage and use medicine!"

Maggie said in order to make herself look useful.

The words touched Kieran's heart.

Since the survivors could turn into thugs at any time, other than Colleen, who was his comrade, Kieran did not want to accept anyone else for the time being.

But Kieran needed more skills to get stronger quickly.

Healing skills like bandage were something that Kieran was determined to get. Kieran did not think that he would not get injured in future battles.

If it wasn't for the [Bandage] skill, which required him to heal his wounds and he wasn't sure if the game would approve of his self-inflicted wounds or not, he would have cut himself a few times with his dagger.

Now that there was someone to teach him, Kieran would not reject it.

"Okay!"

Kieran nodded and pushed the trolley forward.

When they were quite a distance away, they realized that Maggie was standing there in a daze.

"Hurry up!"

Kieran urged.

"Okay, okay!"

Maggie nodded and quickly caught up to him.

She did not know why Kieran agreed, but she did not want to give up this rare opportunity. So she quickened her pace.

After Maggie caught up, Kieran quickened his pace again.

After a while, the two of them disappeared.

Less than ten minutes after they left, a figure in camouflage quietly appeared in front of the mall.

He quickly realized that something was wrong.

After checking the inside and outside of the mall, the figure quickly left.

...

"You killed the Vulture!"

Before Colleen could celebrate Kieran's safe return, she heard the news. She looked at Kieran, who had reappeared in front of her. Her gray eyes were filled with shock.

"Of course! After all, these things could not have been given away by the mall, right? "

Kieran smiled and patted the full trolley behind him.

"This is unbelievable!"

Colleen gasped in surprise, but her attention was quickly drawn to Maggie, who was standing behind Kieran and holding her breath.

Even though it was dark, Colleen's woman's intuition told her that Maggie was a beautiful girl.

Especially when she saw the pitiful look on Maggie's face. Her alarm bells rang in Colleen's mind.

Colleen knew what kind of girl was the most attractive to men.

It was not a pretty face.

It was not a good body either.

It was a pitiful look that aroused a man's desire to protect her.

If this delicate and pitiful girl had a beautiful face and an excellent figure … her attractiveness to men would increase exponentially.

Obviously, Maggie was that kind of girl.

"Who is she?"

Colleen cursed in her heart, but on the outside, she put on a kind face.

She had made up her mind to let Kieran rely on her. She knew that she could not let Kieran see her lose her composure.

That would only make Kieran stay away from her.

She had to show that she was magnanimous.

That was the only way she could get closer to Kieran.

Then...

Hmph!

Colleen had grown up on the streets. She was not a good student, but she was very familiar with some tricks.

"Maggie, the girl who was kidnapped by the Vulture's men. She's a nurse. She knows how to use bandages and medicine. I thought we might need it, so I brought her back! "

Kieran introduced Maggie.

Colleen's smile grew brighter when she heard Kieran's introduction.

She could tell that Kieran had not brought her back because of her looks or body, but because she was a nurse.

"Welcome, Maggie! I'm Colleen! "

Colleen said.
