Chapter 606

Words:3089Update:22/06/23 03:42:14

Report

This saying was first recorded in Mencius, where Mencius quoted the words of Confucius.

Those who supported the idea of burial thought that "the initiator has no descendants." It meant that the first person to use terracotta figurines to be buried with a living person would definitely die without descendants. Their reasoning was simple, because the burial system was an important part of the Zhou Dynasty's rites and music. Since Kong Sheng advocated retro, he would naturally support the burial system.

Those who opposed the idea of burial thought that Confucius was against the idea of burial, but there were two interpretations.

The first interpretation was based on the original words of Confucius in Confucius's Family Sayings. Confucius advocated the use of grass bundles to form human figures to be buried with real people. If terracotta figurines were used to be buried with living people, the family or country of this kind of person would inevitably be destroyed. Confucius believed that terracotta figurines should not be buried with people, so naturally, living people should not be buried with them.

The second interpretation was that the first person to use terracotta figurines to be buried with people was very benevolent. Would such a person not have a successor? The implication was that this kind of benevolence should be carried forward and there would definitely be successors.

Those who opposed the idea of burial used "benevolence" as evidence, but those who supported the idea of burial used "rites" as the basis.

Neither Kong Sheng himself nor the members of the Kong Sheng family explained this saying, but when Mencius quoted this saying, they believed that Kong Sheng was against the idea of burial.

"Rites" was one of the holy ways, but rites were always changing, and no one could grasp the pulse. Only Half-saint could change the rites in the way of the Sacred Conference, but the changes were all urgent, and the burial system had never been included in the Sacred Conference.

Fang Yun looked at the history of mankind and was very clear that the burial system had to be abolished.

"Then, the title of this scripture will be 'Duke Mu of Qin killed the Three Good Men.' Abolish evil rites and promote benevolence and righteousness!"

Fang Yun chose the title of this scripture. The scripture was not a political theory, and political theory could discuss the pros and cons of the burial system in detail. But the scripture wanted to generalize the burial system into evil rites.

After a long time, Fang Yun decided to use the extremely rare method of "breaking many", using the two aspects of "benevolence" and "loyalty" to solve the problem.

"A benevolent person knows that people live well and die evil; a loyal person knows that he serves the country and does not destroy the foundation of his family."

This meant that a benevolent person should act according to human nature. Everyone wanted to live and didn't want to die, so being buried with others was naturally an unbenevolent act. A person who was loyal to the human race should know that everyone was the cornerstone of the human race. To harm the cornerstone of the human race was to be disloyal to the human race.

Fang Yun knew in his heart that to solve the problem, one must be upright, complete, and grand, and avoid deviant, evil, and impatient.

The benevolence in the first sentence belonged to the righteous, which was in line with the rules. However, the second sentence directly threw out that "burial with the dead is digging the foundation of the human race", which was somewhat "evil" and "urgent". If the following words could not be justified, then the entire meaning of the scripture would definitely be downgraded.

Before Fang Yun started writing. Initially, he was still a little apprehensive, but after writing those two lines, he calmed down.

If the second sentence couldn't be explained in the latter part of the text, it would naturally be "evil" and "urgent". But if it was interpreted well, "Quan" was "Wei".

Fang Yun had already figured it out. The second sentence was based on Xun Zi's concept of "envoys by name" to further elaborate on the division of labor in society. In essence, it meant that the current human race's manpower was insufficient, but it was closer to the productivity of later generations and other aspects, intercepting part of the advanced concept. It was integrated with the ideology of Saint Origin World.

After solving the problem, Fang Yun directly pointed out that Duke Mu of Qin's killing of the three good people was tyrannical. Then, he wrote this scripture according to his own structure. When it was necessary to quote the words of the Saints, when it was necessary to use facts, he used facts and arguments. Finally, he used the most orthodox Confucian ideology to prove that burial with the dead was an evil ritual, and evil rituals had to be abolished!

In this scripture, Fang Yun explained the consequences of burial with the dead from economic, sociological, and other perspectives. He went straight to the core of the problem, and the degree of sharpness far exceeded any previous arguments against burial with the dead.

However, Fang Yun slightly changed the language of later generations. He did not mention the core of it, only saying "conjecture" and not "reason".

Fang Yun was actually using clearer and more detailed language and reasoning to explain the ideology of Saint Origin World. This kind of behavior was a note.

When writing this scripture, Fang Yun thought of a famous sentence from later generations.

The six scriptures inscribe me, and I inscribe the six scriptures.

The use of this Dao lies in the heart.

However, Fang Yun knew that his literary position was very low. If he really made a note, he was afraid that he would be counterattacked by the power of the Saint Dao. Therefore, he was very careful with his words.

When Fang Yun finished writing this scripture about abolishing the evil ritual of burial with the dead, he felt a great power rising from the paper.

Fang Yun felt that the talent contained in this scripture was not as great as the Shuidiao Getou, but the feeling of its vastness and abundance was far greater than any other poem.

However, an even greater and boundless power suppressed all the strange phenomena in the scripture.

Scriptures were not like other things. Even though Fang Yun was very careful, since he mentioned "abolishing the evil ritual" and denying the Shang and Zhou rites, and the reasoning behind it was clear, this scripture could not be published to the public before the Saints gave their approval.

Not to mention the other consequences, just the fact that the sound of the scripture could spread hundreds or even thousands of miles away and cause confusion in the minds of scholars could cause their courage to explode.

When Fang Yun saw that the strange phenomena were suppressed, he realized that the scripture had already reached the Saints' level. It was at least at the level of the Zhen State in the scripture. If the scripture was not good enough, no matter how strange it was, it would not be valued by the Saints.

Fang Yun heaved a sigh of relief. He was exhausted and felt that his right hand was sore. When he took a closer look, his right hand was slightly swollen. He was shocked. This was because he did not have enough writing space. Once he wrote an article that involved the Saint Dao, he would suffer a backlash if he was not careful.

"Fortunately, what I wrote was reasonable. If I made up some nonsense or did not believe in the name of 'abolishing the evil ritual', I would probably write myself to death."

Fang Yun shook his sore neck and looked up. It was already late. He hurriedly reached out to touch the test tablet. He could use the tablet to find out the specific time.

"I didn't expect that it would take me 12 hours to write a mere thousand words. If I don't have enough writing space in the future, I should try to write less of this! "Fang Yun thought to himself.

Then, Fang Yun held the test card and chanted silently. A plate of hot food fell from the sky.

Fang Yun's stomach was rumbling with hunger. After gobbling down the beef and rice on the plate, he fell asleep.

Fang Yun slowly fell asleep. After an unknown period of time, Fang Yun suddenly felt that something was off. He opened his eyes and saw a pair of huge eyes in the depths of the void.

The eyes were formed by two suns, and they shone brightly.

"Give me back my Literati Star Fragment!"

A stream of Eternal Ice Power transformed into a river of ice and surged over. Wherever the Ice Power passed by, it would freeze. The stars froze, and the void cracked.

Fang Yun was terrified. He closed his eyes and waited for death, but his body couldn't move.

However, a white fox suddenly appeared and blocked the Eternal Glacier.

"Is it Nu-Nuo?"

The white fox's figure suddenly disappeared. Then, a huge arm that was tens of thousands of miles long appeared in front of him. The arm was covered in dark green scales and had sharp nails. Countless divine objects with vast auras were flying around.

"Give me back my divine eye!"

Fang Yun turned pale with fright.

All of a sudden, countless golden human characters erupted from the ground. The shimmering golden characters formed a series of chains of light that intertwined into a large net and dragged the huge arm back to the ground.

Fang Yun could vaguely make out the words "Imperial Lord's Codex" among the characters that formed the chains, but he didn't know if it was just his imagination.

Fang Yun had just heaved a sigh of relief when he saw a massive black evil dragon head that connected heaven and earth. This dragon head was way too big. Fang Yun couldn't even see its body.

Just this dragon head alone was the size of a planet!

The Zhenyu Evil Dragon opened its mouth and devoured heaven and earth, as if it was going to suck in all light.

Before the dragon head could say anything, Fang Yun was already dejected. He didn't think that so many powerful beings would be targeting him. "Who did I offend?"

"Give me back my Ancestral Dragon True Blood!" the Zhenyu Evil Dragon roared.

Fang Yun could only wait for death. However, the Zhenyu Evil Dragon suddenly turned around and muttered, "Sorry. I mistook you for someone else. "

Fang Yun was dumbfounded. This wasn't the right style!

Fang Yun focused his gaze and saw the Zhenyu Evil Dragon's head shrink rapidly. It shrank into an inkstone turtle.

The inkstone turtle looked at Fang Yun with an embarrassed expression.

Fang Yun was enraged. He raised his foot and stomped on the inkstone turtle while cursing and venting all of his anger on it.

The inkstone turtle couldn't take it anymore and suddenly yelled, "Stop hitting me! If you hit me again, I'll use the Moon Tree Divine Punishment to kill you! I'll kill you! "

Fang Yun was startled and felt his entire body turn cold.

On the bed in the examination room, Fang Yun slowly opened his eyes. His entire body was uncomfortable, and at the same time, there was an indescribable feeling in his heart, as if some evil monster was looking at him from somewhere.

Fang Yun looked around and didn't see anything. He only noticed that the sky was a little dark, and only then did he realize that he was dreaming.

Fang Yun was startled.

"Could it be that I overslept? It's already the third night? "

Fang Yun hurriedly got up. He didn't even have time to put on his robes as he reached for the exam token on the table.

Eleven in the morning.

"It's only nine in the morning, why is it so dark? Isn't the Divine Temple able to block out all the dark clouds …"

Fang Yun suddenly shivered. He stood at the door of the study and looked up at the sky.

A pitch-black vortex covered the sky. Countless blood-red lightning bolts flashed within the vortex.

At the very center of the vortex, there was a long spear made of blue and white lightning!

The lightning spear was slowly leaving the center of the vortex and would soon descend above Jingguo.

The lightning spear exuded an aura that could destroy all things and end all life. Fang Yun only glanced at it, but a deep sense of despair appeared in the depths of his soul. He then slowly reached out with both hands, broke the brush, and pointed the sharp end at his throat.

Fang Yun's courage was slightly shaken. He suddenly realized something and threw down the brush.

"What a terrifying Moon Tree Divine Punishment. I can't even look at it. Today, I have no chance of survival. I can only hope that Yuhuan is safe. " Fang Yun sighed, his heart filled with bitterness. He didn't think that the Barbarian Saints would be so decisive and use such a powerful force to deal with him.

At the same time, a petite girl in coarse clothes with a face covered in grass dust came to the door of the Fang Family.

Yang Yuhuan stood behind the door and silently looked at this girl. At this moment, Yang Yuhuan's eyes were dull and her face was gray. It was as if there was no life in her, as if she was a walking corpse.

Su Xiaoxiao timidly looked at Yang Yuhuan, her pitch-black eyes flashing. She really looked like a little maid. "This servant is called Su Xiaoxiao. I came because I admire Marquis Fang Wenhou. I am willing to sacrifice myself to become a servant of the Fang Family."

"You're too late." Yang Yuhuan's voice was hoarse. As soon as she said this, tears began to fall. Heavens.
