There weren't any major events in the new Ross Mansion this week. To them, the most interesting thing was that Young Master Neet seemed to have gotten together with the maid guarding Shelley Garden. The strangest thing was that the Earl didn't stop them. This meant that the sparrow really did have a chance to leap onto a branch and become a phoenix. Thus, many unmarried girls who were in love faintly felt their hearts begin to beat.
Apart from that, there was also something else. Everyone thought that a wizard had left the manor, but it turned out that he had been training in a secluded place all this time. Of course, they were only curious about this matter. With their status, they did not dare to talk about the matters of the Magi.
Meanwhile, he was reading a novel he borrowed from the city library in his study — The Sound of Tide at Night.
It was an adventure novel based on Torras, the Ruthless King, a legendary pirate from two thousand years ago. Part of the story was based on unofficial history, while the other parts were made up by the author. Angor found the story interesting and fascinating.
While reading the novel, he would use his spirit feelers to check on Torras, who was lying on the ground surrounded by black mist, to see if he could find the image of the legendary pirate in the book.
However, Torras was still unconscious and listless. It was hard to reconcile him with the impression in the book.
He kept reading until he reached the most interesting part of the story. Torras wielded his sword and fought against a group of bandits called "Emperor of the Sea" in an attempt to reclaim the promised land — the Easternmost Sea, which was called "Glory of the Sea" by all navigators.
The description of the battle was not detailed enough, but Torras's majestic image was still vivid in the book.
While doing so, he also released the black mist around Torras's body.
It had been three days, and there was still negative energy leaking out of Torras's body. The black mist was the source of the chaotic energy. In order to prevent Freud from being affected by the chaotic energy, he had to release the black mist from time to time.
He looked at Torras and was surprised to see Torras's soul moving around. Torras was not awake yet, but half of his face was exposed.
Angor was surprised when he saw Torras's face.
Torras had a delicate face that could even be described as a baby face. It was completely different from his bull-horned helmet and the leather armor that revealed his abs.
Angor thought he was going to be a "Mr. Strong". He could no longer watch the plot of The Sound of Tides at Night. He quickly came up with an idea in his mind.
He closed the book, put the Church of the Deceased into his bracelet, and left the manor.
Before leaving, Angor checked himself in the mirror. What he saw in the mirror was a lazy middle-aged man. But in the next second, he became a handsome young man.
Angor looked at his sickly pale face in the mirror and sighed. The external injuries on his body were almost healed, but the internal injuries were very difficult to heal. The most direct reaction was that his complexion was extremely pale.
He wiped the mirror with his hand, and his face returned to that of a middle-aged man. Then, he slowly walked out of the door.
It was snowing heavily outside. As soon as he stepped out of the manor, he saw Neet walking towards him with an elk sled.
"You're pretty well-informed. Here I am," Angor said in a casual tone. "You're not drowning in Miss Sangna's warmth in the middle of a snowy day?"
"Hehe." Neet scratched his head. His face, which was covered by the white mink fur, was a little red. It was unclear whether it was from the cold or embarrassment. "As long as Milord is in Lost Paradise, I will be Milord's personal coachman."
He was planning to fly away, but his damaged internal organs made his body lazy when repairing itself. So, he decided to save as much energy as possible. He accepted Neet's offer and got on the elk sled.
After walking out of the Count's mansion, Neet asked, "My lord, where are we going now?"
Angor didn't answer right away. Instead, he looked into the distance and said, "You'll have to ask her."
Neet followed Angor's gaze and saw a figure slowly appearing on the snow. It was a petite woman in a white dress.
"Mister Padt, the master has been waiting for you at Oceanside Mansion." Her eyes were closed.
Angor recognized the woman as Haku. When he returned to the manor, Haku showed up and told him that Jebra wanted to see him.
Jebra was going to pay him a visit, but Angor was too weak at the time, so he said he would visit Jebra when he was done with his new alchemy work.
Two days had passed since then.
"You know where we're going now, right? Let's go to Oceanview Mansion. "
Neet was a little surprised by Haku's sudden appearance. Angor nudged him. "Got it. Oceanview Mansion is just across the street. It's not far."
Neet lifted the reins as he spoke.
Haku nodded to Angor respectfully and vanished into thin air.
Angor frowned as he looked at the spot where Haku disappeared. He could sense Haku's presence earlier because Haku released its aura on purpose. But now, he couldn't sense Haku's aura at all.
He had never seen someone who could hide like this before. Haku was able to completely bypass spirit detection without making any sound.
Regardless of whether it was used for a sneak attack or to spy on information, it was undoubtedly extremely powerful.
"I guess I can't underestimate anyone." If Angor fought against White, White could easily ambush Angor, and White could easily defeat Angor by surprise.
Neet swung the reins and led Angor to Ocean Mansion. Perhaps it was because of the second supernatural in Lost Paradise City, Neet didn't say a word along the way. No one knew what he was thinking.
When they arrived at Oceanview Mansion, Neet finally spoke. "We're here, sir."
Angor glanced at Neet. "I know what you're worried about. Supernaturals usually don't interfere with mortals' business. Don't think too much."
With that, Angor headed inside the luxurious building covered in snow.
When he reached the entrance, he heard someone approaching from the other side.
He turned around and saw a purple-haired woman smoking a pipe while leaning against a pillar. She saw Angor and quickly walked toward him.
Angor stopped. He knew this woman was from Summerdew Ridge. She also showed up when he was crafting Crimson Shelter.
"Mister Padt, I've always heard about you. It's a rare opportunity to meet you in person. How about we arrange a time for a chat?" The purple-haired woman walked toward Angor while carrying a pleasant fragrance.
Angor didn't say anything. He only looked to the other side.
A young man in a blue robe was standing at the entrance of Oceanview Mansion. He had a handsome face, and there was a shining scale between his eyebrows.
"I didn't enter your mansion, Jebra. Can't I talk to an old friend here?"
The young man was Jebra. He looked at Swan, who was trying her best to dress herself up, with a sneer.
"Old friend? I didn't hear anything about you, "Jebra said.
Swan tucked her hair behind her ear. "We met two days ago at White Oak Mountain. Why can't we call each other old friends?"
Jebra chuckled and ignored Swan. "I've been wanting to talk to you since we were in Yothur City, but I didn't get the chance. Now that I have the chance, why don't you come this way? "
Angor nodded and followed Jebra into the room, leaving Swan standing outside the door angrily.
"That's Shadow Swan from Summerdew Ridge. Don't be fooled by the way she flirted with you just now. Her sexual orientation is a mystery."
Angor didn't intend to continue the topic. He didn't like to gossip about strangers. "Let's cut to the chase. I've been working on my alchemy manuals, so I don't have much time. May I know why you're looking for me? "
Jebra recalled Sliv's message and narrowed his eyes. "I heard you were training in seclusion a few days ago. So you were working on your alchemy manuals?"
Jebra's words raised Angor's vigilance.
Jebra didn't mean anything. It sounded like he was repeating Angor's words. However, considering the time limit, it sounded like he was asking about Angor's whereabouts.
As expected, Jebra continued, "I'm curious as well. Where are you? I sent Haku to contact you a week ago, but she only found you two days ago."
Angor didn't answer Jebra's question directly. "So Haku isn't as good at tracking as she is at hiding."
Angor continued, "You called me here just to talk about such meaningless things?"
"Of course not. I invited you here for a different reason. Why don't we talk inside?" Jebra asked as he headed to the inner hall.
Angor nodded noncommittally.
When the two of them walked towards the inner hall, they did not speak, but each had their own thoughts.
Angor thought about Jebra's words. It sounded like Jebra was trying to find out where he was. Jebra even found out about Angor's "seclusion".
But Jebra didn't have any reason to do that, did he? Could it be that he had left some clues on that island and the people of Song of the Deep had found them? But Angor didn't think he left any traces behind. Besides, he even cleaned up the portal.
Maybe I'm overthinking it?
