Chapter 1440

Report

Angor watched the ghost ship flying away until it disappeared from his sight. He was still in a daze.

He looked at his palm and sensed a ripple of energy coming from it.

The energy ripple was stronger than ever.

He was just experimenting to see what would happen if he used his new mana whirlpool to activate an illusion. If he could buy some time for the ghost ship, it would be killing two birds with one stone.

Angor really did want to buy some time, so he used an illusion on Cirsebiles.

However, Angor soon noticed that Cirsebiles did not seem to be very resistant to illusions. The giant crimson eye fell into a confused state without much effort.

Since he succeeded so easily, he decided to further control his illusions and lure Cirsibiles away from the ghost ship.

In the end, he really succeeded.

The energy cost was much lower than he expected.

After his breakthrough, Angor knew that he was much stronger than before. However, he didn't really know how much he had improved until he cast this simple illusion. It was only when he used a basic illusion that he had a better idea of how much he had become stronger.

Wizards and apprentices were only separated by a thin line. However, there was a huge gap between them.

Angor did not think too much about saving the ghost ship. But from what Sunders saw, it was a great benefit.

It seemed that Angor only saved the people on the ghost ship, but there were many other parties involved.

The ghost ship did not belong to Wizard Ivan alone, nor did it belong to Silent Hill. It belonged to the entire wizard alliance in Fairytale Town.

Angor's act of saving the ghost ship would be considered a favor to everyone in Fairytale Town.

Of course, it did not mean that all wizards in Fairytale Town owed Angor a favor.

However, as long as someone accepted the favor, they could slowly build up their connections.

For example, Wizard Ivan already accepted Angor's favor. He already wanted to build a good relationship with Angor, and now, he became even friendlier.

This was not a bad thing for Angor.

With that done, Angor and Sunders left Midworld with mixed feelings.

A while later, the two of them arrived at the portal.

Even though it was Sunders' second time here, he still felt a subtle sense of awe when he saw the endless doors.

Although everyone's creation phenomenon was different, this was the first time he had seen such a strange phenomenon.

Maybe it was because he was the one who saw them, but he didn't feel anything strange. Instead, he felt comfortable walking between the doors like a fish in water.

He pushed open an intricately carved wooden door and exited from another one of the same shape.

After several experiments, Angor had a feeling of enlightenment in his mind.

Perhaps these doors correspond to the spatial displacement effect in the door model? However, the effect of the door model formed by the special energy did not appear in the vision.

Soon, he stood in front of an ordinary-looking door that was, in fact, the most special one in the Realm of Gates.

Angor observed the door quietly. Compared to the others, he did have a better understanding of it.

However, understanding was one thing, but he still did not understand the purpose of the door's existence.

Why would the Gift of Truth give this door to him?

Angor pondered for a long time without saying anything. Sunders stood behind him and waited patiently.

A while later, Angor finally moved. He walked to the door and tried to open it.

Sunders followed Angor's movement. He was also curious about the secret behind the door. But soon, Sunders began to doubt himself.

Angor couldn't open the door either.

When he realized that he could not open the door, he stepped back again and looked at the door with a strange look. He frowned and relaxed his eyebrows as if he had found something. But when he thought about it carefully, he felt that it was ridiculous.

A while later, Sunders saw Angor coming back to his senses. "What do you think of this door?"

"The door is a gift from the truth." Angor pondered for a moment and chose not to answer. "It's a gift from the truth."

"The Gift of Truth?!" Sunders was surprised. He knew what the Gift of Truth was. It was a reward given by the world's consciousness, and he had received it many times. Even though he knew what the gift meant, he still felt strange. Why was it a door?

Most of the time, the Gift of Truth was a form of idealism. It was rare to see something like this. At least, Sunders had never heard of such a thing.

"My professor asked me what I think of this door." Angor paused. "I don't know what to say. I know a lot about it. But the more I know about it, the more confused I am."

"Why is that?" Sunders asked curiously.

There was no one else in this area, so Angor decided to tell Sunders about the door's function.

"To me, this door is a … coordinate? A street sign? Hmm, that doesn't sound right. " Angor paused for a moment as if he was trying to find a suitable adjective. After a while, he spoke in a hesitant tone.

"Target anchor."

Target anchor? Sunders frowned. The word "coordinate" was similar to "coordinate", which both referred to a location. However, "coordinate" was more like a concept, while "target anchor" was a concrete representation.

Still, Sunders did not understand what Angor was trying to say with the word.

"It's right here, existing eternally."

"As long as I want to, I can feel it anywhere, anytime," Angor spoke slowly.

"It's like a bright lighthouse. I can see where it is when I turn around."

Sunders slowly understood what Angor was trying to say.

The door could also be considered as a space waymark, but it was more concrete. As long as someone sensed the door, they would always know the way back. Just as Angor described, the door was like a lighthouse in the dark, guiding people who lost their way.

It sounded like a good idea.

But in terms of its effect, it was not very useful.

As Sunders understood, a space waymark could completely replace the door's function. No matter which world Angor went to, as long as he remembered the waymark, he would never get lost in the dark.

"Is there anything else?"

Angor rubbed his forehead and shook his head. "I don't think so."

It was because of this that he had hesitated when Isabelle asked him about it. Angor did not believe that this was the only effect of "Truth's Gift".

So, he went to the void to verify it.

And it turned out that this was the only thing the door could do.

At least, Angor could not sense anything else.

"You mean the door won't disappear?" asked Sunders. "It's eternal?"

Angor nodded. He couldn't sense the other doors, so it was only a matter of time before they disappeared. But this door was a target anchor. It was fixed in place and would not disappear.

Sunders considered for a moment. "Well, at least we saved a space waymark. That's … good."

Sunders tried his best to praise the door.

Angor shrugged. He was planning to tell Isabelle about the door's special effect after he figured it out. But now, it seemed there was nothing special about it.

He would just tell Isabelle when he got back.

"You're right. We saved one space waymark," Angor said helplessly.

Angor didn't give up and checked the door again. Still, he found nothing. It seemed that the Gift of Truth this time had really shrunk a little.

Angor thought about it again. There was only one door model, after all.

He used a door model to trick two creation anomalies. Overall, he didn't lose anything. At least, he now had a "path". It wasn't a bad thing to use the "Gift of Truth" as a space waymark.

With this thought in mind, Angor felt a lot better.

Since he didn't find anything useful, he decided to leave the void. After all, he had a lot of things to take care of since he just broke through.

Angor and Sunders turned to leave.

However, just as they turned around and walked a few steps, a guttural chuckle came from behind them.

"Young man, long time no see."
