But Jun Xie's identity was unique, and the title of Gu Li Sheng's number one disciple was more resounding than any other title. Moreover, Jun Xie only resided within the little bamboo grove, and did not interact with the other disciples, so he did not have to worry about any trouble.

Fan Qi agreed to it.

What Fan Qi did not know, was that his decision, in the near future, would become the key to saving the entire Zephyr Academy.

He would never have thought, that the Zephyr Academy that had just regained its peace, would soon face a calamity in the near future …..

…..

In the Zephyr Academy's Vice Headmaster's office, Ning Rui sat at his desk, his face pale. Before his desk, was a blood stained stretcher. A white linen cloth covered the stretcher, reflecting the outline of a human figure. Fresh blood had stained the white linen red, and the glaring red stained Ning Rui's eyes.

Since last night, till now, Ning Rui had been sitting behind his desk, his eyes staring unblinkingly at the blood stained stretcher.

Ning Xin was dead. His only daughter was dead.

Right before his eyes, Ning Xin had been whipped to death, and her body had been split in two at the time of her death, and her body could not even be considered whole.

After the Rui Lin Army had left, Ning Rui had personally retrieved Ning Xin's body, and ordered for it to be carried to his study. After that, he had shut himself in the study alone with Ning Xin's body, not eating or drinking, his entire being seemingly lost in a terrifying thought.

He had once thought of saving Ning Xin, but in the end, there was nothing he could do.

He could only watch, helplessly, as Ning Xin died before his eyes.

"Jun Xie, the Rui Lin Army ….. Yin Yan ….. Fan Qi ….. I will not let this matter rest. One day, I will make you pay for what you have done to my daughter!" Ning Rui had repressed himself for a long time, and the words were spat out through gritted teeth.

His heart was filled with hatred, and he wanted nothing more than to avenge Ning Xin.

But he could not.

Ning Rui drew in a deep breath, and stood up suddenly. From the bookshelf behind him, he took down a small wooden box.

He opened the wooden box, and inside lay a tattered map made from leather. Ning Rui's eyes flashed coldly. He closed the lid of the wooden box and put it on his body. With one hand, he pulled out a book that had been placed on the bookshelf. That book seemed to have some sort of secret to it. When that book was pulled out, the entire bookshelf cracked open.

With a creaking sound, the entire bookshelf slowly moved to the left and right, revealing a pitch-black passage behind the bookshelf.

Ning Rui clutched the pocket containing the wooden box. His gaze darkened as he lit a match and walked into the pitch-black passageway.

He didn't know how long he had walked in the darkness. Ning Rui only felt that the hatred in his heart had made him forget about time and exhaustion. When the long road ahead finally welcomed light, he finally walked out of the tunnel.

No one knew that in the Vice Dean's study, there was a hidden tunnel that led straight into the forest. One end of the tunnel was the Vice Dean's study, while the other end was connected to a wooden house hidden in the forest.

"Isn't that Ning Rui? Why are you in the mood to come here today? " The handsome looking youth sat on the railing outside the wooden house with a wide grin on his face. The smile on his face was unusually bright, but that pair of eyes that were half narrowed, sent chills down one's spine.

"Lord Gu Ying." When Ning Rui saw the youth, he did not show the slightest bit of disrespect. His face was tense and he immediately bowed in greeting.

The youth, Gu Ying, rested his chin in his hand and looked at the cautious Ning Rui. The corners of his mouth curled up in a smile as he said:

"What are you here for today?"
