Chapter 6

Words:2112Update:22/06/22 09:20:06

Report

Lin Sheng stood motionless in front of the passage.

The surrounding kitchen would occasionally distort in the dream, like a moving phantom.

He did not know how long had passed. Ten seconds, or twenty seconds.

There was no concept of time in the dream.

Lin Sheng slowly lifted his feet and took a few steps closer to the passage.

"This crack... it must be related to the nightmare that made me feel fear."

Lin Sheng had a guess in his heart.

"The aura exuding from this place is exactly the same as what I felt when I had a nightmare!"

Just by standing in front of the crack, he felt the skin on the front of his body turn cold and stiff. It was exactly the same feeling as in the nightmare.

"I want to go in and take a look."

Lin Sheng paused and made up his mind. It was just a dream, and he would not die. Curiosity finally overwhelmed the trace of fear in his heart.

He calmed his emotions for a while, and finally slowly lifted his feet and walked into the crack.

"Phew..."

As soon as his head entered the crack, Lin Sheng felt cold all over his body, as if he was immersed in bone-chilling ice water.

It was pitch black in front of him, and he could vaguely hear the howling of the wind on both sides.

Soon, in less than three seconds, Lin Sheng's eyes suddenly lit up.

The coldness on his body slowly subsided. Although it was still a little cold, he could withstand it.

What appeared in front of him was a European-style living room made of grayish-black stone.

He was standing at one end of the rectangular living room.

Near to his left was the fireplace, a brownish-red old stove. On top of it was the head of a curly-haired man with a solemn expression.

Lin Sheng could not help but reach out to touch the head. It was hard, cold, and smooth.

"!?" He was slightly shocked, and retracted his finger as if he had been electrocuted.

"This clear sense of touch... is much stronger than before. It's just like the real thing... "

Thinking of this, he hurriedly turned his head to look behind him.

On the wall behind him, the crack that he had just entered was rapidly shrinking and disappearing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The crack faintly reflected the faint light in the kitchen.

Before Lin Sheng could react, the crack suddenly accelerated and completely healed in a few blinks of an eye.

"..."

Lin Sheng stood there in a daze. He could still feel that he was in a dream, but...

He lowered his head and saw that in the surrounding air, traces of black gas were like silk threads, constantly drilling into his body and into his skin.

He felt that he was being accepted by this place, being infected by this place...

It was a strange feeling.

He seemed to feel that he could stay here for a long time.

This was an instinct, an inexplicable instinct.

There was an inexplicable sense of security here.

Lin Sheng calmed himself down and looked around the hall.

In the middle of the rectangular hall, there was an eye-catching large dining table covered with a white cloth. The white cloth was stained with dark red, and it was gray, old, and tattered.

The black ground with yellow stripes was paved with a cold and hard unknown stone.

There was a black candlestick in the shape of a flower petal hanging from the pale yellow ceiling. Sixteen white candles of varying lengths were left on it, arranged in the shape of a flower petal, but not lit.

There was a. and of the hall. there. and there. There were not.

Lin Sheng paused for a moment before walking towards the window.

He walked to the window and slowly lifted the black curtains. He looked out through the window.

Outside the window, it was dark and gloomy. Nearby, there were a few ferocious bare tree shadows swaying in the wind. In the distance, beyond the wall, there was only darkness.

Lin Sheng put down the curtains. He was silent for a while. He turned and walked to the other wall.

There were all kinds of oil paintings.

But all of them were blurry. He could barely distinguish them. Some were portrait paintings, and some were landscape paintings.

"It's no different from my dream. Once I focus on the details, it's all blurry." Lin Sheng calmed down a little.

The familiarity of the dream calmed him down a lot.

He touched the surface of the oil painting. It was the same as before. He couldn't feel anything. It was like his hand was wrapped in a thick cotton cloth.

He was patient. He checked all the oil paintings one by one. After a long time, he took a step back and looked at the exit of the hall.

There was a wooden door in the corner of the hall. It led to another room.

Lin Sheng didn't stop. He walked quickly to the wooden door. He held the black door handle. It was carved in the shape of a horse's head. He twisted it.

"Click."

Amidst the faint sound of the door opening, he slowly walked into another adjacent room.

There was a dark patterned curtain at the door. The curtain was tied up and separated, revealing the view of the room.

There were two large dark red bookshelves facing the door, and they were filled with all kinds of books neatly arranged.

"It's the study." Lin Sheng guessed.

He paused and didn't go in. Based on his experience in dreams, he couldn't read the books in the study. They were all blurry. He might as well go somewhere else to see what was new.

Lin Sheng turned and left. He returned to the hall.

He wandered around the hall and soon found another door. This time, it was the bedroom.

After wandering around the bedroom for a while, he didn't find anything new. Lin Sheng returned to the hall.

He soon found a basement in the corner of the hall. It was filled with wine. There was a dark red wine barrel. The air was filled with the aroma of wine.

After wandering around for a while, he had a rough idea of the situation.

"This is an old European-style manor."

Lin Sheng returned to the hall. He felt like he was about to wake up.

People who dreamed could have premonitions when they were about to wake up.

"I should take this time to see the last study."

He didn't waste time. He went straight to the study.

He strode into the study.

The first thing Lin Sheng saw was a short mahogany table in the middle of the room. There was a stack of gray books on the table.

Next to the books was a silver-gray candlestick. Next to the candlestick was a large book that was half-opened.

He curiously leaned over and saw that the book was flipped open. It was filled with densely packed tiny words. Every word was very clear, but unfortunately, he could not read any of them.

"So clear?" Lin Sheng was a little surprised.

He skipped over the book and looked at the other bookshelves.

The bookshelves were densely packed with all kinds of books.

He casually pulled out a book and flipped it open to have a look. It was also filled with tiny words. He couldn't read them at all.

"It doesn't look like Celine. It looks like Gourenne..." Lin Sheng frowned. He had seen this famous language on TV in ancient books.

Gourenne, hieroglyphic, cuneiform, and ancient Xiguang, were the four ancient languages with the longest history.

He had seen the origin of this language in many extracurricular books in junior high school.

Among the four ancient languages, hieroglyphic and Gourenne were the easiest to recognize. They had the most obvious features.

So he recognized them at a glance.

"This is funny. I can actually dream of Gourenne..." Lin Sheng was a little amused. He carefully flipped through the book in his hand.

But what surprised him was that many of the contents of the book, the graphics and the words, gave him a fresh sense of strangeness.

"Logically, things seen in a dream, even if there are strange things, will have a sense of familiarity... but this strangeness..." Lin Sheng felt something was wrong.

He was about to carefully copy down a paragraph and then record it when he woke up. Suddenly, a violent sense of dizziness came over him.

"It's time to wake up..." He understood.
