What Lin Huang saw was not a single building, but a series of buildings that stretched all the way to the top.

It should have been a city in the past, but it seemed like the entire city had gone through some kind of disaster. The tall buildings had collapsed, and even some of the low houses were destroyed. There seemed to be no signs of human activity.

"Bloody, check it out." Lin Huang stood where he was and did not go any closer to the city.

Bloody immediately released its Leech Pods, which floated above the underground city.

It didn't take long for its investigation of the entire city to come to a conclusion.

"This should be an empty city. There are no signs of humans or monsters."

The result was within Lin Huang's expectation. After all, nobody knew how long the ruins had existed. Looking at the damage done to the underground city, it was unlikely that there were any survivors.

"There's a tower-like building in the middle of the city that's still intact. If there's really a treasure here, I think it's most likely to be hidden in that tower," Bloody added.

Lin Huang nodded. The red arrow on the Treasure Card appeared again after he entered the underground, pointing towards the city center.

He flew into the sky and headed towards the direction where the arrow was pointing at.

As he flew above the city, he observed the buildings along the way.

Judging from the scale of the buildings, the city should have been prosperous in the past. Although it could not be compared to many of the A-grade footholds, it was similar to most of the B-grade footholds. Of course, the scale was much smaller. However, one could tell that the unknown civilization before the new epoch was very developed.

As Lin Huang flew past a toy store, he faintly saw a doll in the broken display window move.

Lin Huang immediately stopped moving and hovered mid-air. He looked towards the direction of the toy store and asked Bloody, "Did you see that?"

"I saw it. The doll moved a little." Bloody nodded.

"You saw it too. I thought it was an illusion." Lin Huang immediately changed his direction and appeared outside the display window of the toy store in a flash.

"Don't go in yet. Let me take a look," Bloody reminded.

Bloody released a couple of Leech Pods into the broken window. A moment later, it said in a strange tone, "There's nothing inside."

"Let me go in and take a look." Lin Huang summoned a couple of Life Power daggers to hover around him and went in through the window.

The toy store was not big. It was only about 60 square meters and only had one floor. Lin Huang stood next to the display window and could see everything in the shop with a single glance.

Only the cashier was partially covered. Lin Huang carefully walked to the side of the cashier and looked behind it. There was nothing there.

Lin Huang frowned slightly and turned around to carefully observe his surroundings.

There was nothing else in the toy store other than dolls, and there was no place to hide. If Bloody did not see the doll move, Lin Huang would have thought it was an illusion. However, since both of them saw it, Lin Huang did not think it was an illusion at the same time.

As he returned to the display window, Lin Huang picked up the doll that he saw moving earlier.

It was a cartoon doll with a big head and big eyes. It was only about 30 centimeters tall and wore a pink dress. There was a yellow flower clip in its dark red hair.

Lin Huang took a good look at the doll, but he did not notice anything out of the ordinary. He recalled that he saw the doll move its head when it was in mid-air. He stretched his hand towards the doll's head, wanting to see if it could really move its head.

However, just when his left hand was about to grab the doll's head, a lady's voice was heard. "What are you trying to do?"

Lin Huang immediately turned his head and looked around. The Life Power daggers in front of him were ready to fight, but he did not find anything.

"I think the voice came from the doll," Bloody reminded him.

Lin Huang then shifted his attention to the doll in his hand and looked at it suspiciously. "Were you the one who spoke just now?"

"No, it wasn't me!" The doll immediately said. However, it immediately realized that its explanation had exposed itself again, so it immediately struggled out of Lin Huang's hand.

"It's alive?" Lin Huang thought it was unbelievable as he had never seen such a monster in the monster guide.

The doll hid behind a pile of plush dolls, revealing only half of its face. It looked at Lin Huang with its guard up.

Lin Huang squatted down and did not go closer. Instead, he asked directly, "Little one, are you a local here?"

"I'm not a little one. My name is Duo Er," the doll corrected him immediately.

"Duo Er, that's a nice name." Lin Huang smiled. "My name is Lin Xie. Let's get to know each other."

"Lin Xie … Are you a human from the outside world?" Duo Er asked.

"That's right." Lin Huang nodded. "Have you seen humans from the outside world before?"

"I've seen them from afar, but it's my first time seeing them up close." Duo Er was curious about Lin Huang. "My dad doesn't allow me to get close to humans from the outside world. He said that they're bad people."

"I'm not a bad person." Lin Huang was surprised. Duo Er's words meant that she was not the only one in the city. He then asked, "Duo Er, are you a local here?"

"That's right," Duo Er said proudly.

"So, apart from you, there should be many people from your tribe in the city?" Lin Huang looked at the other dolls in the shop.

"Of course." Duo Er clearly noticed that Lin Huang was looking at the other dolls. She covered her mouth and giggled. "That's so funny. Do you think that all my people look like dolls like me?"

"Aren't they?" Lin Huang was surprised.

"Only a few of my friends and I are dolls. The others are in other forms. After all, it's not convenient to fight in a doll form. My dad and the others chose bodies for fighting. "Duo Er seemed to have let down her guard after chatting with Lin Huang. She came out from the pile of dolls.

"Choose body?" Lin Huang was confused.

"I can't explain it to you. If you want to know, follow me. I'll bring you to where my people live. The chief and my dad will explain it better." Duo Er thought about it and decided to bring Lin Huang to her tribe.

"Do your people welcome an outsider like me?" Lin Huang raised his eyebrows.

"Under normal circumstances, they wouldn't welcome me. Most of the humans who came from the outside world were bad people. However, I can help you explain to the chief and tell them that you're not a bad person, "Duo Er said seriously.

"Will your chief listen to me?" Lin Huang was doubtful.

"Of course. Grandpa Chief loves me a lot," Duo Er said confidently.

"Loving you and trusting me are two different things …" Lin Huang thought to himself. However, he still wanted to know what was going on in the ruins. After thinking about it, he decided to follow Duo Er.
